I had the pleasure of playtesting Monsoon with Jason Matthews a few weeks ago at Stack Académie in Montreal. Jason (graciously) kicked this grizzled TS veteran's ass, but it was SO FUN to see brand new cards and interactions and systems. I am really pumped for when this is polished up and published to the world, I think TS fans will love it.
That sounds like a great experience! I remember him saying this game will be for experienced TS players, so it's great that it's going to open up new gameplay like that. :)
I can't believe I know nothing about Twilight Struggle! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It seems like it embodies the best of card game mechanics, simple rules that then get modified by the cards, leading to unique experiences and depth that rewards experience.
Zilla, Great interview. I just completed my order for both TS: RS and TS: SAM based on this video. Looking forward to playing the first soon and the second next year.
Excellent interview. Amazing achievement on designing a really great & popular game. A game I have never played as apparently it is not solo friendly, while still trying to convince friends to play if I purchased a copy.
I don't recall offhand if you play on a computer, but the Playdek version on Steam of the original Twilight Struggle game is a faithful recreation of the board game experience, and the solo opponent in the Playdek version is capable. Despite owning the tabletop version of Twilight Struggle, I've actually only played the game via Playdek. It's fantastic. Red Sea, the shorter game, has a solo bot in the tabletop version. (I've not played the Playdek version of Red Sea yet. I have heard mixed reviews on that iteration.)

Two of the finest people in our hobby!
Thanks for the kind words, Sir Kevin! It was a great honor to have Jason on. :)
I do want to say you go out of your way to make top notch videos. And it shows.
Thank you very much, Douglas. It's always motivating when I hear stuff like this. :)
@@ZillaBlitz I believe when someone does a good job the should be recognized
Thank you, sir. I appreciate you. :)
Excellent summary and interview! Well done sir.
Thanks! It was great meeting Jason!
Excellent interview. Thanks for the information on the new game.
My pleasure, Brian, thanks for stopping in. :)

I can bring Red Sea next time we play if you want to try it.

Loved playing Twilight Struggle on the PC even though I was a full newbie but it was fun. Another great interview mate!
Thanks, Parkera! We should play another game sometime soon. :)
