Just picked this up on Switch a while back in 2020 when it was on sale for 4.99 US. Haven't played it yet but I loved the first one on Xbox. It had a fantastic soundtrack and the beginning part of Unravel (one) was so calming. I was playing that game at the time my grandmother passed away in her sleep. She was a great lady and always encouraged me so much and now Unravel (one) and that soundtrack and the imagery delightful and sometimes grim is associated with my grandmother. Sometimes I will hear some of the earlier tracks in Unravel and it will bring a tear to my eye remembering her and where I was in life when I heard of her passing. I'm going to play Unravel two soon and it looks like a fantastic game and just hearing a bit of the score in this video brought me back to that original adventure with Yarny. I was very happy to learn that it's easily controllable with one player. I know the trailer had mentioned that but I wish they had gone more in depth regarding playability.
Loved the game, played it with my son. We had some arguments ofc, but when we shined we always did a high five! We both thought it looked a bit swedish/nordic even at the start. Not that much later we knew!
Finished the first one with my little cousin and now we are doing the second one together.

This game just hits different if you're from a nordic country. The locations, the nature, the animals. It just beatifully reminds of those walks in the woods as a kid. It's so bittersweet and amazing..
Game looks every bit as gorgeous as the first. :) Really loved the original.

I love current generation graphics.
Funny how this gen started out so lackluster in the graphics and fps department, but nowadays games can look like movies.
Literally every gen ever... but I hope to see next gen start up better than this gen
Ark13700 "lackluster in the graphics department" did you never see the order 1886, or Ryse son of Rome? Or even last of us remastered?
AzureRathalos 97 because those are last gen titles, so the developers had to keep in mind, the limitations of the last gen consoles. They only remastered them for the current gen but were not built for them.

bit weird to not mention the fact that co-op is local only. Many people, such as the reviewer, don't have the opportunity to play locally so its an odd thing to leave out. It is a major dealbraker for many but its not even mentioned

I totally get that, but, i'm just saying that if you're living overseas or far away that you don't get to see some of your family or friends often, you might want to play a lovely game like unravel with them... but you can't.

EA should just buy Coldwood already now that the franchise is on with two titles and the trademark is owned by the former and with an acquisition they can expand it into many platforms including mobile and switch.

Played the first and enjoyed it quite a bit. I noticed PSN has both of them bundled for $5.99. Beats buying it separately for $19.99.

You can if you’re on ps4. One person can share-play the game and choose the option “Play With The Visitor”. The graphics and quality will however be worse for the person playing in the share-play.

7 levels? I’m already on chapter 4, and I just downloaded it today, and only played for about an hour or two. Very disappointing.
My impressions so far: the world does not make any sense (the last one was based on memories, so it made sense to see the flashbacks and move from location to location. This one seems to be all in the present, and the humans seem to react to yarny, which makes no sense). The story is not as emotional as the previous one, and my greatest complaint: its FAR too easy. I have yet to feel challenged, whereas the last one felt challenging from beginning to end.
Also, there is an extensive tutorial (the entire first chapter is merely a tutorial), and the game pretty much holds your hand the entire game. Every single section is preceded by that annoying light literally telling you exactly where you have to go.
I am very disappointed with this game, having absolutely loved the first one.

It’s a capercaillie. The largest species of grouse.
They ruined the game with annoying time trial achievements that are easier in co op. This just isn't having quite the impact as the first did.

My daughter and I played it on PS4. We played it several hours.... Next time we started it, ALL SAVES WERE GONE! (all Trophies are still there, but the game has lost all saves).
I loved this game, now I hate it!
Saving works perfectly fine for me. Problem might have been that you played on a guest profile or something. It autosaves after every level

I think Unravel 2 is a lot like Dark Souls 2. Does something different, better mechanics, weaker level design, weaker story, weaker atmosphere. I haven't finished it yet so I'm going to wait to make a final judgment.

Completed. Not sure who will see this, but don’t get this game. The only difficult moments are when you over-estimate the solutions of the puzzles. Unlike the first: There’s no heart, excitement, or intellectual gratitude. I will never be purchasing an Unravel game again. Like, it’s that bad.
