You should visit Grand Isle, Louisiana. The shrimp boats go out early in the morning while the sun is rising over the Gulf of Mexico. The colors are breathtaking. It’s a unique and beautiful sight. Have some of the fresh seafood at one of the restaurants on the island. You won’t be disappointed.
Roger is a phenomenal painter! I just caught your show for the first time on PBS and then found you on here. I hope you don't mind a couple of suggestions. I have a TV production background and I could barely watch the show and am having the same problem here. I'm mostly interested in the actual painting and yet you have the shortest cuts (some severely short) on the close ups of him actually painting. I don't see what benefit there is to cutting continuously to a wide or long shot with him chatting to the camera. Obviously it's a matter of opinion, but with such a master painter, I'd like to see the longest shots on him actually painting closer up. Bob Ross and others continuously talk, but also continuously paint. These two of yours that I've looked at today have very small canvases which also adds to the frustration of watching him paint via a long shot. We are basically watching someone paint a thumbnail painting. I hope that makes sense. In my opinion, you should have a minimum of long/wide shots and the most as closeups or mid range shots while he paints as he talks. If you need to fill time, you could have more of the beginning sketch and/or more cuts to closeups of the objects and areas of the objects he's painting. Sorry to sound critical, but I would love to actually learn how to be a better painter from your shows. He is so good, you should have a lot more comments/followers!! The travel aspect is also enjoyable! What a life!! 💗
This is one of my favorite shows Roger and Sarah. I live close to here and have painted the docks many times. Beautiful! Ok I know you have a reason for almost never wearing a hat while painting. I know how hot it is here in Florida. But I’ve always wondered why you don’t put a hat on. Anyway beautiful painting as usual.
This is nicely done ✅ thank you for sharing.🙏🇨🇦
Enjoying another great printing and tour. I like the way you talk us though the printing. Thanks again Jack
My pleasure!

It's because of video exposure problems when filming. I don't want my face to show up really dark and in shadow. Otherwise I use a hat and umbrella.
