Watch for "crankwalk" in these motors. Main crank bearing fails with too much boost and a heavy duty clutch, sadly the 4663 is notorious for it. I've loved this build so much, having had both a GST & GSX in my late teens/twenties, this brings back so many memories. I used to be able to do a timing belt on a 4G63/4G64 in like 15 minutes.

We all knew this car was not going to be a daily driver, so the harsh clutch isn't too disappointing. I'm glad you guys are ironing out some issues to get this car performing well. A lot of SEMA builds are just for show.

Yeah your wastegate spring should always be roughly half of what your max target boost you are trying to achieve, so if 30 psi is your target boost, then wastegate should have roughly 15psi spring in it.
I had a 95 eclipse in 98 for a few years and I still miss that car. I loved the interior it was like being in a cockpit. I ha e looked over the years for a clean lower mileage one and it's impossible to find one for a decent price
The damper will NOT make power … the function is to decrease the amount of vibrations that cause the parts that need bearings to fail due to the vibrations pushing metal parts through the thin layer of oil pressure making contact at the moving bearing surfaces
I feel like the reason this channel isn’t getting as many views is bc all their high viewed videos are from when they would do car transformations in 10 minutes and now they are having 10 part series about cars, people don’t have a long attention span so the short videos helped
How about you get a nice LED tail light bar in replacement of the old school incandescent light bulbs for that eclipse? How sick would that be? It looks like it was designed to get one at some point.
You guys need to drive the car around and beat it up a bit to get a feel for the car before racing the Hoonigan truck. From what I seen from thr lightning, is that it has been raced and tested. The numbers may be lower but they are good drivers and are not afraid of beating on their vehicles. Might consider getting a nos tune in there as well. Good luck.

Sooo, yeah, not too much to do, pretty easy.' 🤣🤣🤣
That wastegate setup doesnt really make sense. It's essentially still internally gated but with extra hardware and steps. I dont know that that would solve any boost creep issues just because it doesnt change the flow path.
We couldnt control the old gate properly and wasnt working the way it should. We have better control and more adjustability on the new gate, and is responding to the boost controller inputs much better. Had nothing to do with the flow path, just functionality.
So couple questions for you guys. 1) what's the wheel and tire specs for this build? I'm looking at purchasing that same kit from carbonetics. 2) since you guys are going for good power why didn't you get the JDM Galant VR4 front knuckles so you could run an Evo 8 bbk?

The 6 bolt blocks don't have the crank walk issue.

5 lb spring in the wastegate is to small . you are only going to be able to run twice the spring pressure which is 10 .

@@josiah7068 reduced pumping losses + better harmonics = higher RPM, Higher RPM = more power. the damper itself doesn't add power, but the benefits the damper provides do.
