I have combat, I know guys like him, like me, we make Boogaloo Memes together and go to militia functions, getting ready for the collapse... Never too late to man up, with us young folk...
I love how his confidence grows as he gets closer. the first couple of shots it was Remo reacting, then he realized he was applying the technique Chun had taught him. It's kinda like the matrix, "he's starting to believe"
Richard Diaz he did! There was so many movies that he introduced me to that I wasn’t aware of in 87. Movies that were already out for a long time. The never ending story. The Wraith. The last starfighter. Breakin 1&2. Rad staring Lori Loughlin. And a few more I can’t remember off the top of my head
I remember watching this as a kid back in the 80s. Only just found out the actor recently passed away. He was in some very good films such as "Southern Comfort" and "Tremors".
Yes. That's the way to remember this movie. Don't watch that one episode that was made afterwards. Imagine what could have been, don't realize how crap it actually was. 🙂
I loved how they explained this in the movie. He doesn't dodge bullets that would be impossible. He uses his eyes to see were the bullet will go and his ears to hear the tendons in his enemies hand tighten as the trigger is pulled. That way he moves before the bullet is ever fired.
I watched this movie a dozen times before I realized it was based on a book series. They are really fun! The first 20 or so are just dripping 1970s! You can see the bell bottom jeans, giant sideburns and boat sized cars in the prose. Totally worth it if you like the characters from the film.
We all want more of Remo Williams and Master Chiun, but no more movies ever made. Could never understand that, because for a trilogy this pair would have been ideal. Fred Ward and Joel Grey were fantastic in Remo Williams the Adventure Begins. I have watched it again and again. We need this kind of adventure action movie back. Although old now, perhaps Joel Grey and Fred Ward could be consultants on such a film. These guys are movie heros. We all need heros.
@@missinginaction2b Yes, I remember that, but it was never on a par with the performances of Fred Ward and Joel Grey. They were absolutely ideal for the Remo Williams film. Almost the same fit as Peter Falk was in his series Columbo.
You could not make them in Hollywood nowadays...read all the destroyer series, back in the late seventies, in the army....those books were like gold in the field...worth a lot of cigarettes...I am created Shiva, the destroyer, shatterer of worlds, the dead night tiger reborn!!
I was 17 when "Remo" came out in 1985. Was my favourite movie of all time... until "Aliens" came out one year later 😁But it's still on my list of most favorite movies. It aged a little bit, I guess, but not too much. Never understood all the dislike and false expectations about a James Bond replacement or whatever. Joel Grey and Fred Ward had great chemistry. It's a super entertaining movie. Also great score by Craig Safan.
Too much overdone overanimiated computer generated crap these days, 1980s physical stunts performed by true professionals the way it should be. R.I.P. Fred Ward
I read all the early Destroyer books, didn’t even know they made this movie, until up I ran across it somewhere. Pretty close to the books and wish they’d made more.
God bless you for this clip. I've watched this movie as a kid more than 25 years ago. It was etched im my mind. This scene. But I had no way of finding out what it was. Thank you very much!
@@troyjollimore4100 I read The Executioner series when I was in the military. I saw there were over 400 of them. Amazing as Bolan got badly injured in almost every book I read. Great series!

Yeah . Dropping the magazine out of a Colt 1911a1 doesn't clear the round in the chamber . The Colt 1911a1 doesn't have a magazine disconnect safety like many handguns do , so the pistol still has a round in the chamber ready to fire . I doubt Brian Denehy could have recovered the pistol and got off another shot against Remo though . The bit that gets me as as a military vet ( navy ) and shooter is how Remo survived by taking cover behind a log against a Ma Deuce 50 BMG . The film showed the 50 cal bullets striking the log which would have easily penetrated , passed through , and injured Remo . I reckon Remo must have put himself on the sides of the log away from where the bullets exited . Sinanju training at it's best .
Watched Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann (all scenes restored) and then a few months later Fred Ward passed away. Rest in Peace Sir and Godspeed. Thank you for everything.
Such a great movie, I believe Fred was also in all the Tremors movies. I loved the way he got his name for this character :-) Joel Gray was also great as his mentor. I think Remo was probably the first Jason Bourne :-)
I remember when We went to visit my mom’s boyfriend house and he put this movie on. I thought it was kind of dumb. Halfway through the movie I was hooked. Little did I know he would become my stepdad.😊
There was a fella down the pub last week who said that the CIA were working on this . He told me when he was in the army in the early 80s they were recruiting for a program and they wanted people with agile footwork . He told me they put a kind of dirty dozen together and assembled them in a disused factory in Glasgow. They brought together the best quick footed people from all over the country. This fella was good at football so he was there they also had some martial artists and there was a champion ballroom dancer and I think a midget who had natural fast feet. As it goes he was rejected because he got knocked unconscious during the initial stage . Apparently they went on to use real ammo in practice sessions but it didn’t get to operational because of the very high death rate.
RIP Fred Ward. Ex Boxer, ex US Air force, ex lumberjack! A real Man has passed.

Not many of them left!

True

My uncle Lenny introduced me to this movie when I was 10 back in 87. So grateful for that as it’s one of the best action movies ever made

it's too bad they didn't make more Remo movies. Fred Ward kicks ass in all of his films...whether he's actually kicking ass or not.
