I love the whole process from 2:00 leading to 2:13 where the music just gets turned up. The use of Crazy Sunshine and this scene matches up so perfectly. This is why FLCL is awesome.
This is such a beautiful metaphor for stepping into adulthood. Few moments in anime bring me to tears; Goku going SSJ3 for the first time, King Kittan's sacrifice in Gurren Lagann, Spike's last stand at the end of Bebop and this. 😭
Man this show is so special to me. I always cry when I see this scene cause it reminds me of when I was a kid with a really messed up household & I would lock myself in my room & watch this when things were bad & it made me feel like maybe I could do something significant or special someday too. God why did I just say that
Thank you for saying this. As someone who did the same for the same reason, I didnt know I needed to read this. But I did and I'm gonna be better because of it.🥲👍
Just think of all the power Haruko already has, yet still hunts for Atomisk & that she wasn't the least worried she'd get caught up in the explosion. The music was absolutely beautiful and perfect for this scene, this anime means so much to me 💓
This was the first episode of FLCL that I ever watched in 2012 or 2013 on Adult Swim and I was hooked after that. I believe I discovered Cowboy Bebop around the same time. Cartoon Network has never been that good since.
I'm kind of jealous of people who never connect with this series. You never ever longed to impress someone you had a crush on? Felt weird *for* having a crush on someone because people made fun of you having feelings? You were never intimidated by someone you had a crush on? How much more experienced, with it, charming, witty, sure of herself than you were? What a truly blessed life you lived. Been 20 years and this scene still hits me.
It is considered fair use, but they immediately block anything that contains copyright material that could possibly be bad. You just have to dispute it with them, which I did. They only delete the channel for false claims, but what I told them is valid, so even if they decide to keep it blocked, they have no reason to delete me. I have another side channel just in case that happens though, but I wouldn't worry about it.
All she cares about is reaching Atomsk. The satellite dropping is just a ploy to invoke his power out of Naota. She didn't care if it didn't work. Amaro was basically just asking her to not destroy the entire city in the process.
@@sebastianbell8326 I disagree completely. They went to great lengths to maintain the same cadence and context of the original. Especially for its time, this is one of the most faithful dubs out there, mostly because the people in charge of the dub went in with that intention.
Atomosk 100% liked takkun. He always helped him in some way like the big brother he always wanted.
My guess is because Naota was the only one not obsessing over his power.
It’s because Naota built him in his brothers image
There's so much going on in those 4 minutes. The music, the animation, the themes, the subtext. It's packed and it *works* so well..
You miss every pitch you don't swing at. Aim for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars.
One of the most moving, beautiful marriages of visuals and soundtrack. Gives me goosebumps and wet eyes every time.
The only non combat episode and my favorite one to this day. Love this fuckin scene.
That just happened to me. Watch it again!
He swung the bat...
Right up there next to the Spike and Vicious first encounter, this is easily one of the most beautiful moments in anime.
The way crazy sunshine crescendos as he swings the guitar and stops the giant baseball is so beautifully executed
This! Craaaaaazzzzzyy sunshiiiinneee

Because many, many of us did the same thing.

Seeing this on toonami with my older brother when we were kids was amazing.
i love how they all had massive nosebleeds
This is one of my favorite scenes in anything.
2:05
Best moment ever
When the music hit just right.

マバセ市がホームベースの形をしてる外連味が堪らない
I always tear up on this part. It is absolute perfection and poetry.
"Hey, I didn't know boys felt like this inside..."
spencer mcbride don’t touch me there from behind! Haha 😂
heyyy why'dya steal my line?

I will never, ever get tired of rewatching this scene. It’s so good.
This was the first scene of FLCL I ever saw

I get it. I’m here because I’m in my 30’s and still haven’t swung the bat. I’m going to be eyebrows if I’m not careful
Hw tf did I just notice now that naota said taskun and not takkun
Tasuku is his older brother. Ta-kun is Mamimi's nickname for him

God willing this doesn't get your channel erased.
Imagine a fooly cooly show where naota kept a bit of atomsk’ power and grew up with it?
If Haruko purposely sent the bomb down why did Armarao ask her stop it?

Turnt your boy Naota into a Man
Evangelion....eat-yer heart out.
falseprophet141 same studio same director
@@Ender275 i dont think its the same director i think he is like the protege of the guy who made Evangelion in any case they were really good friends
@@Kajos- It's directed by Tsurumaki. He was Anno's AD on NGE, and FLCL is his silly-brief re-telling of NGE. I think he went on to direct the movies.
lol i never knew why the women had nosebleeds till i got older and rewatched it.
ABBY 🎸
so yeah I am watching Progressive, that guy.....is he the same guy in Progressive?
No that's not naota
no, I meant the eyebrows guy, but my question was already answered in the final episode
clockwerk35 is he? i kinda zoned out during that episode
That’s his son I think
I'm the 666th like. Dig it.
people give way too much credit to the voice actor to haru or this show at all, it sounds horrible to someone that watched this in japanese

2:17 my reaction every damn time I watch this episode.
