    I'm revisiting this because of the epic landing. The aircraft has just received a huge update. It now has the GTN750 for Xbox users. I'm so happy they did this. I believe it is the only aircraft available on xbox that has this option. I don't know how accurate it is, but I've used it for GPS, VOR and ILS functions. It seems to be quite serviceable. I'm really impressed!
    Anyway, I felt like watching a video about the aircraft, and remembered this one! Fun!

    I felt guilty buying another $40 plane in the same month as I bought the Concorde, but I'm so glad I did! It's exactly what I was missing the most from both the default GA planes and any payware ones that had been out up until that point, the combination of steam gauges AND pressurization. I could finally relive the childhood memories of riding with my uncle in his company's Turbo Commander 690 or Beech Duke.

    Always be optimistic but if in doubt you can always go around . As an aviation Firefighter we have a similar saying " never be afraid to re-deploy " , in other words as a driver if you park too far from the aircraft or in the wrong place .....best to move to a better place . Although trust me you still get lots of stick from your fellow crew members as they will tell you at every opportunity and as often as possible . Damn those back seat drivers 🙂

    I love this plane too. Your original flight with it wasn't the reason I bought into it (that was Big Jacko's Gaming) but I have never regretted this purchase. I've been active on the FSW discord and the love the plane has got over time is incredible, from both community and developer, and really adds to the positive experience of this plane. I can't say it enough, I love flying it, like you concluded - it's just such a lovely handling aircraft, and a joy to fly. I have over 60 hours in mine, and over the three months I've been flying it I can count the number of flights I've been in other aircraft on two hands.

    Actually, as a Pacific Northwesterner I can vouch for the mountains this year. It has been insane. We have had one atmospheric river after another dumping cold rain on the lowlands and snow in the mountains. In Seattle for the first six months of the year we had a total of 8 hours of weather above 70 degrees. There were roads that were still closed due to snow when I left in early July.
    The reason is that with the polar ice cap melting that area of the Arctic ocean gets covered in seasonal sea ice in the winter and in spring it breaks up and washes down the coast causing us to have colder and wetter weather in spring and early summer followed by hotter weather in late summer and early fall.
    I'm currently having the same problem in Nepal. I was supposed to be in the mountains by now but everything is still snowed in, which you can also see in the sim if you try landing in the Dolpa airport VNDP. This is the perfect plane to try it out in because the turbochargers give you the power to make the landings without falling out of the sky on approach, and you really do want to stick the landing because there are cliffs on all sides. The freeware airport out for it looks just like the real thing.

    Thank you for the vid! This airplane became my fav one, I love the pressurised cabin and the range, and with this one I can finally make my trip around the world possible. “Chancellor” actually can get you from Japan to the Pacific islands of the US. Radar altimeter is really helpful while landing in the mountains at night, like yesterday in Laos.

    Hi, huge fan of your videos and input, I find most of it very insightful!
    One thing I note as a similarity between you and Overkill is an almost formulaic approach to aircraft review. The formula is that you both fail to do even the minimal due diligence to understand how to start and operate the aircraft, then an attempt to repair ego by suggesting that the product is somehow deficient, or in your case bring up a competitor. Finally, as the flight goes on and you better understand it, you began to compliment it.
    All that to say, that I will happily watch more of your content and remained subscribed, but holy crap it’s all so transparent. Hopefully, you take my admiration and feedback with some respect.

    • @843Bobinator
      @843Bobinator Рік тому +1

      Also, I freaking loved you landings, the best on UA-cam!

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  Рік тому

      I appreciate the feedback but you must understand that in reviewing we’re on a time crunch, to actually get views we need to post relatively quickly, or we don’t earn a living . I do read the manuals and honestly I don’t expect to be an expert in one flight, I fly dozens of aircraft and procedures will differ, finding the right switch can be hard to remember, it’s not like I have 20 hours to fly an aircraft before review, literally impossible. I take the approach of making it a live honest first look… the same first experience any buyer will get. I want people to see the truth not an expert who understands every protocol that might frustrate them.
      End of the day, you watch the videos where I’m flying an aircraft I have hours in, I’m decent like anyone, but it does take time. Most aircraft I buy myself so I get it when it releases, I don’t end up with pre release time to test and learn.
      I don’t have an ego as far ad I believe, you see my mistakes and I don’t hide them, hell I crashed by my own fault twice in the f6 review. If I did I’d edit those mistakes out or re-record.
      Not everything is easy or perfect first time. I’d love to see a first flight expert. I also think I’m one of the most forgiving in terms of criticism, often to my own detriment.

    • @843Bobinator
      @843Bobinator Рік тому +3

      I appreciate the reply and your insight, thank you!
      I don’t think lack of familiarity is as much of an issue as the initial disparaging of an aircraft due to lack of experience, which has occurred in the past:
      You’re right, I do still happily view your videos, because I like 90-95% of your reviews and there’s also a supply issue with very few MSFS content creators. One UA-camr I like a lot that also reviews MSFS is Into the Blue simulations. He’s very measured and doesn’t let lack of experience dictate his opinion on the aircraft or its flight model.
      It was great talking to you, and I have gained even more respect for you as a fellow pilot (in irl too!) and content creator. Thank you!

    You added passengers during flight and you do feel the extra weight when you populate every seat to the edge of a balancing act that’s why the landing was more tricky than your take off solo. Fuel flow you can see on the fuel computer once you set it with one of the buttons. Click spot to enable tablet is top left side window. Fuel pumps should be set on low and prime before start but because Asobo makes priming also mandatory on warm engine the dev turned those requirements off till fixed or totally rewritten by dev… immens love went in this plane that I also helped as much as I could because we need more planes from Mark the lead dev in the future. Best ga plane in the sim to date but it’s like you said a personal preference. Love the Chancellor that much the other 261 planes in my hanger are catching dust :-)

    Yet another airplane for me to buy. I liked the Chancellor in the old sims and now here it is in MSFS 2020! I just recently got the 310R which was a must have right along with the Beech 18. I also purchased the Boeing 245, however I find that I'm not flying it very much at all. After watching this excellent video on the Cessna 414 Chancellor I'm sure I'm going to be getting it. I can see myself spending some hours in this thing. By the way, that first approach was exciting, and then followed by a very nice landing! Great job!

    Great video as always , the scenery is correct as if you look down on those icy slopes you can see those Canuk's sun bathing and sweating as that is the Canadian Summer in full swing . The first approach was as any bush pilot will tell you ( of which im not ) was to check out the runway for some more Canuk's using that runway extra few degrees for the extra burn ....obviously using factor 50 at this point . And no doubt they have been drinking some of that moose milk to keep cool ( for those that don't know it's not milk or from the moose but could knock out a huge moose with one sniff ) . The final approach was butter i have to say although you sure that was a runway and not a road ? . Thanks for the review , i do love this plane and have been impressed every step of the way , Flysimware are ones to watch for as this aircraft is as you say very good .

    The snow you're seeing is because of a major problem in the data set used for snow coverage (if you select one of the presets, the snow will be gone). Live Weather uses a low resolution map for snow coverage that extends snow covered peaks all the way down to the valleys which is just silly and should be fixed asap, because it renders live weather almost useless in mountainous areas. At the very least they should make snow optional with a toggle.

  • @redtailpilot

    Just a little tip. There's no such thing as an "airspeed stall", 35:12 . All stalls are a result of exceeding the critical angle of attack of a particular airfoil, in reference to the relative wind (generally around 17*). An airfoil can stall at ANY airspeed, attitude or bank angle.

    • @AvAngel
