This is more death metal than 7 churches, im surprised no one talks about them being death metal pioneers
7CH isn't Death Metal but certainly a capital influence to the genre, you know why Sepultura had no a mayor credit it's simply bro they came from Brazil just that. This is Death Metal and I'm a lover of Swedish Death Metal but Sepultura had that sound first, just listen.
People DO consider Sepultura and Sarcafago as innovators in death metal.

Yup. I've always said this. Possessed just sounded like thrash to me even though they had a song called "death metal"... this Sepultura recording was much more actual death metal in sound than Possessed was. Death's demos were indeed Death metal but the quality was so incredibly bad that they are almost impossible to listen to or tell what is going on. Also, Scream Bloody Gore, the actual album didn't come out til 1987, Bestial Devastation beat it by 2 years. Imo, this is the first official, non demo, death metal recording.

Faster than Sodom , Kreator ,Slayer ,Destruction, Bathory in 1985. Maybe the first time drums were played so fast.

Bestial deviation, morbid visions, schizophrenia, beneath the remains, and arise were Sepulturas best years. Why? Because that’s when they made death metal. 1985-1991 baby

To me this is more Black Metal than 'Morbid Visions' and the production is pretty damn good too! This kind of reminds me of early Sarcofago, except it was before them. I love this EP! Isn't 'Necromancer' one of their best songs ever? According to the band they still play this song on their live sets. Hail old Sepultura for the brutality and the darkness - pure and true old school Death Metal! Hails from Canada! Thrashing to Seoultura since 'Morbid Visions' came out - great memories and great times!!!

I love how the cover art for this album was a mock-up of an old Frank Frazetta illustration, which I noticed back when first bought it in the late 80's, and the lettering on the album title is the old Voivod font.

Conocí este álbum gracias a mi profesor de matemáticas allá por 1997 en una copia pirata en CD, el se llamaba Jorge y era un colegio Evangélico Bautista en Ciudad de Guatemala, tenia 14 o 15 años, recuerdo que solía esconderme para escucharlo en mi casa, me enganche al metal hace mas de 25 años 🙌💯

I have this in LP. Split With the band Overdose. I had 15 years, foi em 1988 que eu comprei. Na época não tinha Internet. Isso era underground pra caralho. Meus pais ficavam malucos e os vizinhos também.
Na minha opinião , esse foi o primeiríssimo registro de Death Metal da história .

comprei quando saiu na época, aos 14 anos, fiquei de cara com a brutalidade da parada. Esse disco,o Live do Vulcano e o Antes do Fim do Dorsal Atlântica lançaram as bases do que viria a ser o metal extremo aqui no Brasil,o resto veio depois

Plenty of East Coast hardcore bands using "blast beats" and with greater proficiency years and years before this
Dont forget about jazz drummers who played blast beats decades before any rock/metal drummer, the first ones who did in rock were probably prog rock/proto punk drummers from the 70s

Quando ouvi esse album na época, adolescente como eles, vi muita verdade, muita pontencial nesse som cru, death/thrash de garagem. É um clássico. E o caminho não deu outra: melhoraram em tudo a cada dia. A consagração foi questão de tempo. Sabia que o Sepultura iria ganhar o mundo... E assim foi.

O Bestial Devastation e o Morbid Visions são os álbuns que eu mais gosto do Sepultura. O Morbid Visions eu comprei no ano em que foi lançado e ouvir algo como aquilo pela primeira vez foi foda pra caralho.

Álbum fodido demais, da velha escola de como se faz um bom death metal, para mim é o melhor do sepultura.
Eu acho esse EP tão foda! Eu gosto de tudo o que banda fez até a saída do Max incrível!
Sepultura é a minha banda de metal favorita, e nem é porque são brasileiros, o que deixa tudo mais legal, mas por realmente ter sido uma banda de metal magnífica.

Na minha opinião até o Arise eram perfeitos......no Chaos A.D. mudaram um pouco; porém não deixa de ser um álbum bom; mas do Roots pra lá......puta merda.......que troço ruim........não quero os cd's nem de graça!!!!!!!!
Roots foi o último deles que eu gostei, depois desse eu não consegui realmente gostar de um, embora eu não ache que tenha ficado ruim, só não é mais pra mim mesmo

I never understood how this sounds so much better than Morbid Visions. I love this album but thought Morbid Visions sounds like shit. It’s way tighter, more brutal, has better production and is more varied musically.
Agreed. I listened to both for the first time, and I'd say Bestial Devastation is better. So much more evil and brutal, plus the production quality is better.

Back in the day pretty much nobody in brazil knew how to produce metal music, since the scene was brand new there. Also, they have recorded the demo tracks, the Ep and the first album in different studios. So "Bestial..." sounding better than "Morbid..." has been more or less just pure luck.

Sepultura opened up the gates of hell with this EP debut,despise having some limitations that concerns over production.Nevertheless,it can be considered too far ahead of its time.Those guys were able to take blood from stone,a magic was made by band to put it out in Brazil by that time.
