The reveal we’ve all been waiting for! Join Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum as we talk about the one and only Paul Wesley appearance in Smallville Season 2 Episode 15: PRODIGAL.
Tom sits back and plays patron this week as Michael remembers a very Luthor-heavy episode.
We get a call from Al justifying one of the most (seemingly) asinine storylines in this episode… Michael remembers working with Paul Wesley (Lucas Luthor) … and Tom questions how long Lionel Luthor has really been able to see.

PRODIGAL (S2E15) Lionel Gets Caught! Lex Gets a Brother, AL GOUGH Schools Us & Lex Gets Adopted #smallville #talkville #season2 - Розваги
"If only Lionel had been shooting blanks while having his affair " - best one liner of the episode lol!!!!
hahahaha Yes!
Perfect joke
That was really funny.
I did a dry spit take in sync with Ryan's
Tom silently laughing in the background at the shit Michael says is why I watch this show 😂
That was my favorite part of this episode.
This is truly one of the best part of this podcast 😂 it's even better when Michael isn't even trying to be funny but make Tom laugh anyway 😂
They kept the camera on Tom after the Bible moment way too long😂😂
He went so long on the "I think...some bible thing..." bit I wanted to know if there was something deeper I was missing haha
When I first started watching this podcast a few weeks back, I was telling my friend about it and I told her that I get a kick out of every time Tom Welling laughs haha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has picked up on how funny it is.
Dude, all that talk from Michael about Lex staying with the Kents, and he calls Al in a fit, who shuts him down in one sentence without skipping a beat. 🤣🤣🤣
To Rosie, the show had color palettes. They specifically chose to make Metropolis shades of Blue, in part, to let the audience know where they were. This is something that would continue for many seasons, i think until Clark really spends more and more time in Metropolis, bringing the Yellows of Smallville there, and you start to see the colors brighten as Clarks actions give hope to the city.
Omg yes!!! Love love love this!
They also light the places Clark felt save in this warm yellow light, which is why the Daily Planet later has this color palette.
Ooooh I love that
@@TalkVillePodcast You say you like it but you during the pod you were hating on it. Why do you jump on hate bandwagon so fast??
@@tupacbck6833 That's most likely not Michael you're talking to, but one of his producers. I'm sure he will bring that idea up to him though.
I love how Al always answers the phone for Rosey; really shows the depth of their connection after all these yrs.
Answers, and chuckles. The best
@Talk Ville Podcast I bet he is laughing before he even answers
He knows to pick up the phone for a Luthor.
Al Gough's response at 13:28 shows what made Smallville a truly great show. On another show, Lex would have done what the others were suggesting. Smallville had Lex make the emotionally revealing choice that showed us who he is and what he really wants.
All Lex wanted was his father to love him but no matter what he did the emotional barrier Lionel built after Julian died never came down.
Exactly and the whole audience knew why lex went to the Kent's Michael is the only one that didn't
Aside from the narrative reasons for Lex going to stay with the Kent's, I think Lex secretly (or not so secretly) wanted to be a part of the Kent family because they had the love that he lacked in his own. This is a reoccurring theme throughout the earlier seasons. Lex was envious of what Clark had.
1000% - Al agrees :)
Perfect example, Lexmas
Lionel shouting "psychotic little bastard" and shooting him is one of my favorite scenes in season 2. lol
Loved Pete watching Clark's back during the basketball game. Giving Clark a "calm down" look. Such a loyal friend 😊
heat check
I love when you guys call Al and he not only answers the phone, but has answers to questions off the top of his head with no prompts or prior set up. The memory on the man, unreal.
“How did you know he had a gun?”… I have been waiting for this moment since this podcast started. Lionel is such an evil man. Kudos to John Glover for his portrayal. He is brilliant.
I imagine when Michael calls Al, Al looks at his cell and is like "Rosey? Again? * sighs * Okay, what bullshit question does he have for me this time?" Then he puts on his nice voice and answers the call.
Joking aside, I love these moments with Al. It really provides a little more insight coming straight from half of the show's creators.
I WOULD DO THIS FOR REALZ IF I WAS HIM
I just crammed all 10 seasons in the past 2 weeks. I have NEVER binge watched anything like that. I was definitely hooked on the edge of my seat the whole time!
When Smallville was running I was a very busy working mother so I never had a chance to really get into it.
BUT WOW!! You guys were AWESOME!!
Same here. One of the podcasts popped up in my feed and I ended up bingeing the whole series this summer.
Yessss... I didn't watch the show back then on purpose cuz most of the live-action Superman content was bad (excluding the OG 1st two films) and I just couldn't have my heart broken again. FINALLY watched it couple months ago, 1st thing I said when it ended was I wish I had watched it live it would have changed my life! So glad I finally gave it a shot.
Tom always makes me laugh when he laughs/giggles away from the mic.
I laugh even more when he laughs
Al Gough should just co-host at this point. He’s my favorite parts of these re-watches, plus it would be good to have a writer’s perspective on all these episodes since the writing is what is often dissected. The back and forth would be fantastic
I love that Michael corrected him (w/o drama) to acknowledge Ryan as their co-host.
@@mecohanoloved that moment ✊🏽
37:15 LMFAO! Tom just cracking up, gets me everytime 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the things I liked about Paul Wesley's Lucas is how observant he was. How he calls out the tells of Lionel, how blind people use their finger to measure the liquid in the glass, and his reactions. Paul did so well, would have been good to see him at least one more time. Great podcast guys! #AlwaysHoldOnToSmallville!
agreed bud
I don't think Lex was the only one who got all the intelligence. He just didn't get any of the schooling and training in long term vision by Lionel (who, for all his disastrous faults as a father did probably inspire and teach Lex to think big picture). Plus he's exactly the age to be the most arrogant teenage brat possible, so he thinks he can swoop in and play Lionel and Lex. He's crafty, but impulsive and way too overconfident.
Yuck i will never accept a drink from a blind person
I laughed so hard when Michael said "yea, i didn't read the Bible" after all the conversions about belief he's had on the other show 😂.
That moment when John Glover’s eyes went from unfocused to looking directly at Paul Wesley? *chef’s kiss
Like how Michael responded to Al with 3 hosts not 2. 😂. Can’t forget Ryan!
Michael: "We watched the episode Rush."
Al: "is that the one with Pete drag racing?"
Michael: "yes"
Me: "No Michael! Noooooooo!"
lol yeah, Pete never did drag racing in that episode. That's not until S3.
haha. everybody: Nooo
Glad someone else said this! My guess is that Al was thinking of Velocity and was probably quite confused why it was being compared to Nicodemus lol
This is a Ryan appreciation comment! Love the fresh perspective he brings to the show and it's fun to see someone using IMDb as much as I do 😂
Also I never understood why Clark thought he could manage a job at the Talon. He is struggling to make time for Lana as it is, why would he give himself another opportunity to constantly let her down, lol
I wondered if he was using IMDB or the Smallville fan wiki. Either works for a lot of things I guess.
Yeah the Talon thing made no sense. Just filler really.
The vibe I got from the whole Jonathan gets knocked out but the gun has a blank later is that Lucas originally intended to kidnap Lex for real, but Lex being all smart and all convinced him to trick Lionel, there’s gotta have been some dialogue in between we didn’t get to see
Yep good point. without it it makes zero sense
I agree that's the best in-universe explanation. But I think the real explanation is the writers started out with a scene where Lex convinces Lucas or tricks Lionel to get Lucas on his side in the climax, on camera, but then rewrote it to be a "they had planned it ahead of time" twist and forgot to take out the Jonathan scene :P
Al brought up a good point, Lex was always wanting a family like the Kent’s.
Yes! He has.
Lex going to the farm was one of the greatest bits of the episode tbh, and the shares are clearly a metaphor for Lucas, you don’t need to focus on them 😂
thank the lord. lost
Watching Tom try not to laugh at Michael not reading the Bible made me laugh so hard😂 what a great moment.
Michael's missing out!
@@audrajohnston2506 Eh... maybe, maybe not.
@@audrajohnston2506 You're right ❤
...and that scene they referenced was one of the reasons why I loved the show.
@@audrajohnston2506 He's Jewish so I'm not surprised he hasn't read the New Testament
@Vijai Srinivas oh gotcha. Yes that makes sense. I remember now he said he's from New York. Not that all New Yorkers are Jewish. It just tracks more.
On the subject of Lex turning up at the Kent farm - I don’t think it was a lack of money that made him go there, so much as needing some emotional support and not knowing how to ask for it. He’s lost the only family he has, and is trying to fill that gap in his life.
Edit: I posted this comment before they called Al Gough.
5:06 Tom just couldn’t wait when jumps ahead😂 the part Lucas throws an🎱 at Lionel when he quickly ducks and screamed was whoa!😶 Lol!!!🤣🤣🤣👏
I loved Al's answer about Lex. I laughed so hard.
On Lionel's blindness, I always got the impression he was genuinely blind until he was shot by Sheriff Ethan in ep 13 Suspect. As in Ep 12 Insurgence there were hints he was still blind when Martha was ruffling through Clark's confidential file on the floor in his office and he was surprised at the mention of the files needing to be picked up.
I thought viewers are to assume time has lapsed between each episode. It’s not an everyday in Smallville.
Al’s commentary made me laugh. Love you guys and the show about the show
My favorite part of this episode was the ending scene between Lex-Lionel-Lucas. I love the whole Luther dynamic and the many different directions that we got to see. Amazing Acting!
I think with the relationship between Clark and Lex, when you binge the show, it does come across as "how did they make up?" however when you watched it while it was airing, the week between episodes just added a period of - this is where nothing really happens, they hang out and are friends.
agreed - definitely something to the story with these week by week breaks
One of my favorite parts of the podcast is when Tom laughs at Michael. 😂
Lol, loving how everyone is missing the moment Lex and Lionel talk and Lex asks him about his sight and Lionel says he's had it back for a few weeks now. He was blind then regained his sight and kept it a secret.
I really love Tom and Michael's relationship. Tom trying to hide his laughing at something Michael says is becoming a classic on the podcast. It reads like: yep, that's my friend laying it out there, just telling it like it is. Hope our host enjoys the upcoming episode so he can be more upbeat next week. 😟
20:47 when Lucas signed the signature for Lionel writes down BiTE ME was 😂🤣🤣!!
Tom's genuine amusement at some of Michael's antics is always entertaining! ❤
I know Michael's pissed but there's an episode much later on where you actually see what would happen if Clark was raised by Lionel & Lex was killed off by Clark (that's also during the Tess era of the show)
ahhh good stuff
Recently saw that one. I think it's in season 10. The mirror gadget thing from Krypton flips the 2 Clark's.
@@audrajohnston2506 yep the Mirror Box I think is the name it switches a person from two different Earths who shares the same one
Lex is always looking into Clark’s past and what a better way than going and stay with the Kent’s.
so true. what was he really digging up :)
Nice to see Ryan comment and discuss things a bit more this episode rather than just his fave scene.
Man, I was always bummed that Lucas never showed up again. He could've played into some really interesting storylines as Lex descended further into darkness... Hell, he could've had a dynamic with Tess, as they're step-siblings as well. Ah well. Always dug this episode. Taught me the greatest lesson of all: whenever a blind person pours a drink, he/she holds his/her finger on the inside of the rim to feel when it's enough.
When I get a drink in the middle of the night I don’t even have to turn on a light lol
Michael is essential because he keeps the show going and brings professionalism and structure to this show, but Michael, you also really need to allow the show to breathe a little, you barely give Tom and Ryan any space to express themselves, both of them are literally rushing through their thought process and sentences all the time, because they feel the pressure, hell, I feel second-hand pressure for them. I understand it's hard to find a good balance between empty talk and good content/pertinent takes to the theme/topic of each episode, but I don't feel like that balance is right just yet. Thanks for allowing my input, love the show, and appreciate you guys
No, Rush was not the “Pete drag racing one”, that was Velocity in S3. ;)
I really appreciate how Tom watches the episode as yall go through! He's been having some really great perspective and commentary lately. Appreciate all of the hard work that goes into these, they're such a highlight for me and for so many people!
The gotcha episode for Lionel. Love this!!
about time!
"If only Lionel had been shooting blanks while having his affair." Rosey clearly chose violence today LMAO😂🤣😂🤣
Michael is the best actor in the series, really is an incredible show for it’s time
And he was two Flashes during this series as well.
@@GabePuratekuta justice league was an amazing show he is the best lex Luther and flash
@@gunnarmarkley8044 What about Teen Titans' Kid Flash?
Love having Al on these episodes it adds so much more to the show
Such a fun podcast, thank you so much. Just LOVE Tom's reaction to your reactions, Michael, seeing Tom giggling away is hilarious! Al's input...AWESOME! Love it....Fever was one of my faves, lots of emotions going on there, can't wait to see what you think of it xx
thanks buddy. appreciate all your love
Enjoyable episode and I’m glad that we finally now know that Lionel can “see”. I liked the discussion especially when Michael rang Al to confirm how ridiculous he thought that Lex going to stay with the Kent’s was, only to be told by Al that the reason was to give Lex a glimpse of a family life that he desperately wants to experience🤗
nice little reminder
@@TalkVillePodcast Anytime😊🙃
Tom‘s totally right! The episodes where everyone‘s acting crazy are my favourites😊 There‘re so fun ones still to come😁
I'm surprised that Michael didn't really dig this episode cause it was a Luthor centric episode with great drama, twist and turns that really showcased how dysfonctional the Luthors fam is. I liked the fact that Lex went to the Kents instead of a random hotel room cause him going to a hotel would have been boring. With Lex staying with the Kents, we got to see a different dynamic btw him and Jonathan and a down to earth side of Lex that we usually didn't get to see. Like Al Gough said what Lex really wanted was a family and he always wanted what Clark had so it made sense.
Clark asking Lana for a job was his way of trying to get close to her again after messing up his chance with her last episode. Like he told Pete in that basketball scene he was following Pete's rule of proximity to get back "in the game" ha.
That’s fair. Though I do like that Michael’s standards for the episode don’t change just because he was a bigger player in it. Makes me feel like his perspective has credibility as an artistic assessment, whether it agrees with mine or not.
@@mecohano the only problem I have is I think Michael expects something different from what the show is. It’s not game of thrones. I’m worried about what he’s going to think in the later seasons. Love the podcast tho. Just wanted to say this after finishing the episode. You were a recent comment lol
Lex probably thought of Clark as a brother at this point and felt like that was somewhere he could go.
"I'm calling Al" is giving me "kid references parents like the world encyclopedia" vibes 🤣
Al Gough's explanation was how I felt. I always thought that Lex felt this connection with Clark and if there was anyone he could go to Clark would welcome him in. Jonathan just made it harder for Lex because I feel that he thinks Lex never worked hard for what he had and this was his way of showing Lex what it was like to work for something. Even though we all know what happens between Clark and Lex, I was always rooting for Lex not to turn to his dark side and I thought this was one way that humbled him. As for the whole battle between Lex and Lionel, I always felt that Lex was always trying to prove to his father that he could not only learn from "the best" but be even better and I believe that's where I felt that head butting came in to play. It also shows the progression into who Lex becomes in the future. I thought both reveals were great because the second reveal just wasn't to reveal to Lex that Lionel had his vision back but I think it proved to Lex that his dad would protect him but I also didn't see the blanks in the gun coming either. I would give this episode 1 1/2 roses because I didn't feel like anything felt out of place and it was just a fun episode to watch.
You guys are great! Suggestion - Before you call Al, collect various questions throughout the episode. Often times later you say "we'd have to ask Al", which you could do if you called him at the end :)
I dunno, for the first time Al sounds like he might not be up for too much more questioning than he's already getting :P
Rosenbaum being so passionately infuriated and questioning the logic of Lex staying with the Kent's only to have Al's very well thought out emotionally driven explanation squash it was my favorite part of this episode. Also.... "shooting blanks" Comedy GOLD
This was a pretty good episode. I might show it to somebody that's never seen Smallville before. This gets two roses from me
Another great talk! Just want to say thanks to Al Gough for always being such a good sport about talking calls and contributing to the podcast. Always interesting to hear his take on things. As to one of the viewer questions about Lex growing up with a brother, Lionel would have definitely played them off each other and justified it as character building and only doing what's best for them.
I give this episode a 🌹 I liked the fact we find out that Lionel is not blind and no you never see Lucas again. Enjoyed the Podcast as always!!😅
omg I'm excited for Fever!~!! Huge Chloe moment for those of us who are big Chloe fans. Out of the entire series, that is a moment that has stuck with me.
Loved Paul Wesley in this one. Agreed Michael that your verbal play with him is very skillful.... love it when you say that about the Luther pool and Lionel has just chummed the water. ❤ Favorite part of Wed am.
Al Gough with the mic drop 😂❤ I definitely enjoyed this episode Cat's out of the bag (Dun dun) Lionel is not blind anymore! Man I forgot Lukas was Vampire guy lol I Truly loved The Baseball moment Clark and Pete moment (S) And of course The Legend Himself John Glover kill's it 👏 I give it 🌹 One and a half Rose, Always highlight of my Wensdays Thanks Guy's 💙❤️🤘
37:00 - Come on Michael! That's a fantastic line - clearly referencing Matthew and in a clever way.
Another awesome episode. Always sad when Wed/Thur is over and have to wait another week. Can't wait for Rosetta. One of the best!!
love, Love, LOVE this episode!!!... One of my all-time favorites... 🌹🌹🌹(3 roses) for me... Lex getting cut off by Lionel and Lucas, which makes him homeless and him going to the Kents for a place to stay... Jonathan Kent agreeing to help Lex and eventually showing Lex some love... Lucas being a d!ck to both Clark and Lana... And John Glover once again steals the show as Lionel... This episode also highlights the brotherhood between Clark and Lex... Granted it may not be the perfect episode, (especially the B story) however, the Luthor Family Disfunction more than makes up for the other deficiencies in this episode... #LoveThePodcastFellas #TalkvilleWednesdays
very curious how this one ends up in the rankings
@@TalkVillePodcast Possibly between 1.5 or a solid 2, but that's just an educated guess lol
This is a classic episode, it answer and raises so many questions, once again Lionel’s performance is phenomenal. I do think the turn around in the episode is to quick. Feels like it could be stretched a few episodes.
yeah that's a lot of episodes in this season. buttoned up prematurely
I'm watching the podcast weekly and the way you interact with each other and with situations is helping me to position myself internally in my chamber music lessons. Thank you!
God I love this podcast. Look forward to it every week. Thank you so much guys, I appreciate your work, now and during Smallville 😘😘
Funny thing not related to this episode, I recently went back and listened to the episode commentary for "Red" by Tom, Michael, and others, and it was so funny, at one point Greg asked Tom something about the ep and Tom said, "I don't remember," and then at the very end when the credits started playing, Michael started reading off the names exactly as they do at the end of these Talkville eps! It's so cool to see a small way that you guys haven't changed at all since your Smallville days!
I seriously LOVE when you call Al! :) :)
28:28 you missed the part mike when Clark uses heat vision thru a vent and burnt Lucas’s hand 🤚💢ouch! then Lionel snaps and slaps Lucas to the floor 😡👋with ‘psychotic little bastard! shoots gun in blanks checkmate!😂👏
New episode…Yay! Great way to start a Wednesday 🎉 Thanks guys.
Thanks again for this podcast! I’m from France and I love you guys. I hope there will be live podcasts where we can see Michael and Tom watching the episodes it could be fun to see their reactions 😁😉
Cool, we are at least two french fans 😊
all our love back. planning something soon
@@TalkVillePodcast Thank you ! 🙏
Al Gough has a mind like a steel trap. He remembers almost every episode and character motivation. Working with him must have been great.
YAY!!! IT'S TALKVILLE DAY!!! I'VE LITERALLY BEEN WATCHING THE CLOCK... WAITING FOR IT TO DROP!
Love the podcast so much guys, thank you. I love when episodes get Michael fired up, whether it is out of passion or anger.
I love how honest you guys always are.
Love how Michael is just like "This is so asinine. F It, I'm calling Al..." And Al answers :)))))))
Love this episode stuck with me
Made lex so more important showing he wanted to be loved
Its easy to see he wanted clark as a brother and kents as loving parents
Keep it up guy these are so awesome
Thanks Al Gough for correcting Michael.. he got told lol😂. Also thanks for answering your phone each time.
Hi, big fan. Just wanted to share that as someone who works in venture capital, the fight between Lex and Lionel over the shares makes 100% complete sense and happens literally all the time, and is just as big of a deal as this episode put it out to be. In really really simple terms, what Lex was doing was he was trying to oust his father from the company and take over control of Luthorcorp personally. If a single shareholder either has more than 50% of the shares OR is able to garner the support of shareholders who collectively own more than 50% of the board, they can effectively oust the sitting CEO of the company and choose a replacement. When Lionel said “Oh my god, you’re staging a coup”, he meant that in the most literal sense
37:25 - "My family tries to rule the world, but yours will inherit the earth." - I love this line. This makes perfect sense as the Kents are not power-hungry individuals but meek, salt-of-the-earth human beings in which the meek will inherit the earth and win in the overall the bigger the picture with the right ideals so to speak whereas Lex and the Luthors seek dominance and power to reign in the world and their quest is inherently shortsighted and will be stopped by Clark/Superman. Good will inherently triumph over eveil is what is being stated here. Beautifully and poetically said. A prophetic line of the Kent/Luthor dynamic.
@26:54 The delivery of that line was perfect, I was lol the whole time when Michael read it.
Clark becomes suspicious and decides to leave mid shift in front of his boss, and that little clip of the reference inserted was great, and you can see Lana face just thinking is Clark walking out on the middle of shift without asking permission.
Al is a great man. How awesome that he answers your calls on the fly. Nice to c his humility and kindness shows he truly cared about the show but more importantly he still cares for u 2. 🥰
Arguably one of the best episodes of this season!
I love the stunt team in the beginning of this episode ad they have worked on Arrow with James Bamford being the stunt coordinator. Bamford doubled for Hartley during the final seasons of Smallville.
Oh yeah, I always loved me some Bamford Arrow cos you knew you'd be getting some great action. :D
A little behind on the podcast but close to catching up. First “Rosenbaum, stop shitting on the show” … I love how mid shitting on the show, he calls Al … gets the explaination and then shuts up.
Episode should be at least 1.25 Roses 🌹. Lionel “not-Blind” reveal is amazing. Lex’s journey to see how the influence of his father is detrimental to his character and how he struggles to overcome it only the obstacles “his father” lays out for him … plus making sure that Lionel’s influence doesn’t affect anyone else is key. The episode had many twists and kept you motivated to continue watching. Give it more love.
Love the podcast!
"If you're a good looking actor on the WB"... That's actually a running joke with the Gilmore Girls original showrunner. That the WB/CW just had a farm of good looking dudes they could just harvest for shows, lol! Jensen, Jared, Paul, Ian, etc, lol!
30:26 Tom it’s vampire diaries Paul went too, not princess ya goof!😂lol!
Finally caught up on the weekly episodes, and still waiting for someone to bring up "The Fog" (both Micheal's horror film love, and Tom's horror film debut)
18:27 Transference is one of my favorite Smallville episodes too, Top 5 easy
Makes my day every week. You guys are always such a pleasure to listen to and have such great insights!
Wish I had of known this Podcast existed when I started watching smallville again about 3 weeks ago! Now I'm on season 8 and I'm thinking about stopping and following along with you guys.
28:00 Clark shows up and Lionel in his ‘fake blinding act’ to know where Lucas is found and Lionel says in sleazing cool way with send my regards to ur mother when walking out.😏
@TalkVillePodcast … Fever isn’t one of my absolute favorites, but I think y’all will enjoy it. Jonathan really kind of shines in that episode. In my opinion, he shows just how far he will go to protect his family. Second to chasing down and almost killing Roger Nixon in the middle of a tornado.
Always look forward to the podcast thank you all!
I LOVED seeing Lex work on the farm and thought to myself how great they captured the atmosphere and overall vibe with great performances by Lex and Johnathon and it took me back to a similar childhood experience. I wish you guys would just watch all the episodes straight through then rewatched so you came in to it with the same love the fans have instead of trying to nit pick and say how much better it would be if they did it your way. It's cool just not almost every single episode. Anyway, still love the ride and getting to see how detached actors can be with something they were involved with, it's enlightening! Much love to you guys seriously you guys are Rockstar's and Smallville was always RAD!
5:00 I kinda like it that the showed Lucas being the first one to figure it out because it kinda illustrated the difference between him and Lex. Lucas, having to be 'street smart' for pretty much his whole life, and Lex, being more pampered, still smart, but figuring it out a bit later, having been underneath Lionel's thumb for so long. It's why Lionel wanted to get rid of Lucas twice (once with the shooter, the second time with him choosing to shoot Lucas over Lex), because he could tell he was much more devious/cunning than Lex
13:29 i was saying the same thing before Al came on, Lex has options but he just lost the most intimate thing he had, (unfortunately it wasn't family or his father's love) it was his mansion, where he lived and spent most of his time, so even though he probably could've had a million options he secretly wanted to be close to such a wholesome family like the Kents
29:22 who wrote this line? 😂 "if only Lionel had been shooting blanks during his affair"
37:10 xD
