To anyone who doesn't understand how this shit works. The connector on the 3ds isn't on stock devices, you need to install a capture card into your 3ds and make a cutout for the video connector. 🤦♂️
you know, I wonder, if 3ds capture cards are possible, why haven't we made HDMI output mods for 3ds consoles yet? there's mods to run wired controllers on the console, so why not have an HDMI output or AV output for CRT displays?
I believe it's a limitation of the hardware. Looking at the 3DS board, there isn't really any way to natively output without additional software - at least for the original model 3DS. I believe too that without the additional software, a 240P image would look pretty ugly running straight up to 1080 or 4K, but that is just speculation on my part.
@@jersycurb I mean what if I plan to run the 240p image on a CRT display? ya know the display someone should be using for 240p content? (it might be squashed into a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio depending on the CRT I pick)

Yes, it works with any content the 3DS is displaying, as the primary function of the capture card is the duplicate the screens to your connected PC. To my understanding, capture cards are also available for DS models, which if you are interested in just DS games, may be a better thing to experiment with when factoring in lower price points and overall higher popularity of the DS system.
3DS is an awesome little system, along with the Wii U they provide some of Nintendo’s strongest first party titles. What made it hard for a lot of people (and this goes for the Wii U too) was that there wasn’t enough differentiating itself from the predecessor, price point, and confusing features.
