It's the motion sensors in the cars. They are being set off by a combination of the ships movements through the waves as well as the ships own vibrations from the ships engine.
Not that at all, it’s when the ferry turn sharply. Modern cars have a sensor when the car is tilted the alarm set off. See how at some point there stopping and going again that when it’s turns and stops.
@@finleymitchell2933 I wasn't saying that's what happened here. The planes were so powerful and flying so low that you could feel the vibrations from the noise. Rocked the cars as they went over, so it had the same effect as in this video.
actually, they are working as they should. its because of the tilting of the ship on the waves. what this is meant to be for is when a car is towed. and they don't HAVE to put an alarm on a car... and the minimum quality alarm is one where it is only set off by a door being opened.
Having just checked the "conditions of carriage" on the Calmac website I can't find any requirement, let alone any mention, to disable motion sensors or alarms in them. To my knowledge it's a recommendation, mainly because of flat batteries. On the other hand, if you know it upsets your dog, why don't you take your dog up with you? While the "Accompanied Dogs Policy" recommends to leave dogs in the car, it also offers several other options which you can take up, but apparently didn't.
It has never happened to us because we turn off the motion sensor system which is a option on our car when we are on the ferry.. For those who are woundering: We have a Volvo S90 T8 Hybrid Inscription 2020 model car...
For not reading the terms of carriage, telling them to disable motion sensors, It is not funny returning to your car to find your dog quivering after 2 hours of alarms going off, so yes they are idiots.
God that's so annoying. Alarms should be illegal. It's noise pollution! The whole point of the matter is cars are insured! If a car is stolen, the victims don't loose a fucking dime! So why are cars still equipped with them?! Total false sense of security, and a waste of money for the consumer. Alarm manufacturers - go figure.

The tilt sensors infact. They're the ones that make the alarm go off if it detects the car being moved
October 28, 2008 was the day when I was born
There is a certain musicality to this performance for sure. The dog certainly recognized a chance to improvise in the key of D.
Happened to us once on the Sound of Mull. RAF were practicing bombing runs over the ferry, the low flying planes set the whole bloody lot off.

So we were the planes in that video.
@@finleymitchell2933 What planes? I don't see or hear any planes in this video.

Glad we got rid of these type of sensors eventually.
You hear this in allmost every ferry going here in Norway...
it is good that the truck didn't have an alarm. that air horn blaring would not be pleasant.

For a second you had me stumped, but then it clicked. I wonder if he would have approved of this kind of 'music'?
