Ben unlocking Master Control, Ben switching between aliens forms while fighting null guardians and the Omnitrix being removed from Ben's wrist are my FAVORITE scenes in this episode
This is ben 10 at its most pop-flick movie fun it feels like such a cinematic episode
@@painvillegaming4119 you know it 🌟
And comes alien force and the subsequent series where they forgot they made such a big deal about taking the watch off it hands. It’s now easier to remove the omnitrix than a wristwatch
I'm like 90% sure this episode was supposed to be the series finale until it got renewed for a third season, because it basically pulled out all the stops and tied everything up nicely.
@@captaincomic8678 I doubt it as it doesn't seem climatic enough for a ending as literally near the end they go back to their usual antics.
Problem is, Ben wasn't looking when he accessed the Master Control because he was talking to Gwen and Grandpa, so he has no idea how to replicate what he did.
A little late but another thing to note is that he doesn't even know where and when the sequence begins.
Like is it as simple as twisting it 10 times or didn't he need to do something like twist it 100 times. What order did the buttons push. Is it only on one small sequence out of several failed ones or is it one long sequence entirely.
He doesn't know.
Yeah, but he turned it off later in the episode, right before trading the omnitrix for gwen when he has his hands behind his baxk
Although it's pretty ironic his son used Grey Mayter to unlock the Master Control when Ben here turned into Grey Matter after he shut off the Master Control.
Pretty sure it was just twisting the dial back and forth, since Ben's 10 years old I don't think he'd have enough brain power to try something else that twisting it back and forth.
@@parkerboy795 Well, Ben's son is just a tiny little bit smarter than he was at that age.
tbf letting Ben keep the Master Control would be too op, he was literally able to handle Vilgax and Kevin, two of the most powerful villains until now, at the same time so its good he reverted back
True, its like in any shonen, he gets an insane power up and then he can't use it frequently for whatever reason, writting 101
What if he had an arc where he's bored of being a hero because the master control makes it so ridiculously easy?
@@vetarlittorf1807 as a 10 year old (lets be honest age doesn't matter here bcz its just so cool) having the ability to transform into an alien for a certain time might be the coolest thing to ever happen and now we can stay as an alien forever and can also switch between aliens? that's icing on the cake for me imo so I don't think he will ever get bored of that
This is an important moment in both Ben and Gwen's character arcs.
This episode shows how far Ben is willing to go to protect his family, even if he has to give up the one thing that makes him feel important. And Gwen finally gets over her jealousy of Ben. Gwen always wanted to help people just as much as Ben, but when Ben actually got the power to make that a reality, she became jealous and insecure because she was just an ordinary kid on the sidelines. It toned down gradually as the cousins bonded over the road trip, but Gwen still kept feeling like she was worthless. That is, until this episode. In this episode, she is touched by how much Ben cares about her that he sacrifices the Omnitrix and that he would rather spend the rest of his life being a nobody than have his family suffer. So her insecurities are now gone, which is conveyed by her giving Ben the Omnitrix back. Which sets up her identity as a hero for her next arc.
Given how often characters do NOT learn lessons or get character-development that sticks - I'll have to call that out as bs. But, it's a nice fanfic. A proper story-driven show probably would have run with it.
@@VG-fk6nk Generallyyyyy the character development sticks in Ben 10. There are.. exceptions though.. Everyone knows the specific season of the specific series I'm referring to where a certain hero just becomes a complete dick for no reason other than they needed him to for plot I guess.
I feel like Ben 10 as a franchise struggles from it's "episodic kids show meant to sell merchandise via different alien forms that can all be sold as seperate toys".
If someone (besides Cartoon Network) gave Man of Action the option to make a more serialized and "adult" (not in an edgy way, more of like a Samurai Jack season 5 way, even more toned down than that would be fine) then the series would be much more enjoyable to older audiences who want compelling character arcs and well written relationships between the characters.
Not trying to give flak to the four main continuity series, but I just feel like it would be much more enjoyable to modern audiences that way, because *as a concept* I think Ben 10 is phenomenal, but when it comes to execution, especially later on, it sort of falls flat of it's potential.
master control is too OP for ben to have access to all the time, what we see in this episode is just a hint at how powerful he can become with experience and a better understanding of how the omnitrix works because right now he hasn't even scratched the surface, that's why we see him messing with it in almost every episode, he's learning
Exactly. You saw how trivially Ben was able to swap the the perfect form.at the perfect time.
Yeah its like us learning everything on the computer or us kids learning on the tv remote
Notice how despite having 10 DIFFERENT POWERS Kevin only fist fights.
Dude's a meathead, he is like that dude that just spams B in every fighting game and doesnt bother learning combos🤣
It took Ben explaining for Kevin to show any intelligence in combining his powers
@@bthsr7113 wish we didn't have to wait til a certain point in the show to see alien fusions.
You will never see him take advantage of that xlr8 speed or ghost freak ability
@Orenges honestly I take it as he simply has the power very weak that its pretty much useless
Originally when Kevin only went Stinkfly he could fly super fast
But as Kevin 11 form, he was flying very slow, almost gliding in fact
Which is the same case with Ben fusion accident, his power was potentially halved while Kevin with 10 forms would be 1/10.
So while some powers are still actively better, some might be too weak
Although Kevin is a meathead, he was never one to be resourceful with abilities, he is more technician like
My favourite episode in classic. Ben giving up the omnitrix for Gwen and her giving the watch back adds to their characters. The team up with Kevin and vilgax was peak. They even took time to build it up. The action scenes in the null void and even when k&v first pulled up on Ben was great.
Edit-you should expect Ben to be competent as a human, when he goes alien he doesn’t just rely on their powers.
8:07 was always crazy to me! The coordination that would take for not just one body but multiple AND STILL FUCKING THEM UP🙏🏽🙌🏽😩
2 seasons worth of training, thats my boy right there, makes you proud of how far he's come🥲
Vilgax made the pecking order VERY clear. Even if it's not clear for Kevin's thick skull, the audience knows who's in charge, who's more experienced, intelligent, accomplished, and ruthless.
Vilgax, an all time classic villain of Cartoon Network. "Respect, I command it even here."
However, it managed to be passed over, by an 11 year old kid (Yes, Kevin was a kid there).
I think that's where Vilgax learned to betray others first, while forming an alliance, let Albedo say so in the future.
What Ben unlocked is the Master Control. It allows him to transform with just a thought to any unlocked alien and with no time limit.
Regarding Vilgax not being shocked by Ben just casually changing from alien to alien actually is kinda answered in Season 1 finale when Vilgax told Ben how he'd use the Omnitrix to create an army of Omnitrix-users and the mini-scenario shown is Vilgax' soldiers changing from alien to alien but y'all understood it as the soldiers just randomly switching because Ben is also switching randomly after his arm got off the omnitrix-remover machine
My personal favorite episode perhaps of the whole franchise, but definitely the Classic series
Ben unlocking “master control” and fighting his two strongest villains inside the FREAKING Null Void has to be one of the coolest season finales ever
The omnitrix getting forcefully ripped off really messed me up as a kid
Tara's voice acting on that part really selled the PAIN to me >_>"
According to the Pop-up Trivia, Ben would describe the sensation of the Omnitrix being removed as like "Ripping off a really sticky band-aid out of a sunburn"
@eduardo muñoz interesting where did you find this trivia ?
@@emaboya1237 there was a TV special many years ago that showed special editions of the episodes with those trivias. It's lost media but a lot of salvaged Screenshots of those Pop-Trivias are in the Wiki.
@eduardomunoz4387 oh maybe i was tok young to remember did it have specific name ?
To be fair with Kevin, he's still a kid with a mile long list of issues. Add up becoming an abomination, and I doubt he'll be doing the most rational things.
It was crazy to witness Ben using “Master Control” on the watch as it was a OP move for Ben to do and facing off two villains with one powerful weapon. 😄 so third season is going to be interesting to watch.
This is one of the best finales. Vilgax & Kevin teaming up to take on Ben & them almost succeeding makes it really suspenseful. We also get one the Omnitrix’s coolest abilities Master Control switching from alien to alien with no limit. Ben fighting skill & flexibility is really shown when he switches from alien to alien in seconds to take on Vilgax Kevin & the null guardians
Unfortunately it kinda has to be reset or else Ben sweeps every single villain going forward. In this episode he was holding his own against 2 of his strongest enemies on his own. So to maintain any semblance of a plot going forward, they had to zero it out.
Makes you wonder if this could've worked better as a series finale or something
@@ashhabimran239 I wouldn't be surprised if it was planned to be, or at least written to be, before Man of Action got confirmation that they'd get a season 3
It called foreshadowing to a future
Also, cause it is the Op of the op
Like master control, ben nothing could stop him with the kind of beast in that thing
8:00 the ABSOLUTE SWAGGIEST MOMENT IN ALL OF BEN 10
that shit is so sick, i could watch it a 100 times.
the swaggiest moment has to be the Big Bang at the end, but this is up there too
Alternative Title: Ben Unlocked God Mode
Some of the best fights in the entire series. This is a test of how far Ben has come, being able to use the full extent of these aliens' abilities at will against his two deadliest opponents.
We also get a bit much jerk Ben, but he makes up for it being willing to sacrifice it all for his family.
Edit: Ben has the inconsistent time limits and one alien at a time again, but he didn't lose any of his unlocked aliens.
Our first look at master control
Next Episode :- Ben 10: Classic - (Season 3 - Episode 2) - Ben 10000.
What about ep 1 of s3?
@@blackknight6757 some sources list Midnight Madness as the first episode of season 3 (the hypnosis episode) but some put Ben 10,000 as the first. I wasn’t around for the airing of the show and I don’t know the production order but I know the DVD that I have puts Midnight Madness first, so they’ll probably watch that one too.
I think it's better that Ben doesn't have master control. Removing the limitations just ruins any power system and makes it boring.
Well it would be really cool for like 2 more episodes but yeah it would get boring seeing Ben effortlesly deal with any threat for 2 more seasons lol
Yeah I agree. It’s a sick power up and the choreography is unreal when he has it but it would get really uninteresting if Ben could just combo any villain who looks at him funny with his full power at any time. These kinds of shows need limiters and the timer is a good way to do it.
@@Bertiboy Instead of artificially nerfing a character - how about the character keeps the powers, but now has to face more complex problems and villains. Which in turn forces the protagonist to think a lot more, and grow as a person. Something like the Ben 10,000 episode.
@@VG-fk6nk I can see what you mean but I feel like at some point you can’t really make threats that are compelling enough for effective drama. Maybe for a season but eventually the audience will pick up that there’s no real stakes or threats anymore. If Ben had Master Control and properly used it how he should then he’d just turn into Clockwork, Way Big or Atomix or someone like that and annihilate most all of his bad guys instantly. Enemies like Animo, Vilgax, Kevin, basically the entire cast so far are completely redundant and offer nothing to really challenge Ben (hell, even in later series none of the villains like Ghostfreak, the Hybreed, Aggregor or Malware are threats so virtually all of these narratives are compromised), so there’s only so many times you can do a villain like Dagon or some other God-like entity before the novelty of increased power wears off. I also think part of the fun of this series is Ben’s gradual power increase, if it all happened right now then there’s not really a lot to look forward to but admittedly that point’s entirely subjective. I can see why you’d view otherwise.
@@Bertiboy What you talk about is a problem that comes much later, and isn't about him having control over the watch, but about getting aliens that are too far-out on the OP scale.
The classic aliens aren't really "universe level busters", so him being able to use the watch to its full extent doesn't make him tremendously OP. Hell, Ben 10,000 was struggling against Vilgax, even with 10k aliens and full control and tons of combat experience. So you absolutely have room to play in, without it becoming rapidly stale.
And if you do want OP aliens - well, they already did them the right way, with Alien X. Yes, a universe buster, BUT he was incredibly nerfed by having Bellisarius and ... I forget the female-face name ... Having to debate them, and lay out complex arguments, to get them to do even 1 small thing with Alien X was an incredible idea.
Way Big is the same way - OP because of size, sure, but imagine Way Big in something like New York. Yes, he would win a fight, but he'll probably annhilate large portions of the city, because of his size alone. So using him is a no-go in a lot of scenarios.
With creativity, master-control Omnitrix can be a lot better. Full potential of the hero + better, more interesting situations and villains.
I guess the show lacked that.
The best episode in classic and one of the best in Ben 10 imo

I can’t wait them to watch “secrets of the omnitrix”. that is my personal favorite.
I'm just assuming he was thrown into space by the explosion, frozen, then came across Kevin
7:08 heh...wait till he watches Alien Force
This episode marks the second time finale of the end of respective season where Ben is fighting the main villains and transforms into all aliens at once, the first time happens in episode "Secrets" of season 1.
Coincidentally, both episodes are the respective seasons finales that share the same episodes number 13th, being the last episodes of seasons 1-2.
Can't wait for season 3 it's going to be hyped because my fave is episode 2
gray matter can probably figure it out. we've seen vilgax interact with the watch controls in transformed mode twice now
People seem to not notice Ben imputed half the master control combination without looking.
Season 2 Finale, i wonder what you think of it? Actually, what has been your thoughts on Season 2 in general?
This was hype as fuck back in the day and still holds up. Y'all better not to forget about the movies and specials too
Being turned into Grey Matter in the end could've made Ben realize he could use the alien'a high IQ to hack the Omnitrix and restore the Master Control. Guess he forgot how smart his small alien is.
When the ship flew by at the start of the episode it had the same Sound effect as slave 1 flying in Star Wars episode 2😲
You guys want a major Kevin arc? Just wait and keep watching

3- Ghostfreaked Out
4- Back With A Vengeance
5- Grudge Match
6- Last Laugh
7- Be Afraid Of The Dark
8- Ben 10 Negative vs Negative part 1-2
9- The Return
10- Framed
This is one of my favorite episodes in the series.
I always knew that once he learned how to use the Omnitrix properly, Ben would be a force to be reckoned with. This episode proved it.
In the classic series the transformations are only supposed to last 10 minutes
I will never get tired of just purely Ben doing hardcore parkour, no alien needed.
Again, Ben is battle smart.
You guys made season 2 ben 10 freaking awesome ❤
Vilgax has a more meancing voice in the spanish dub for latin america. Imagine Darth Vader's voice but deeper with more echo
This episode marks the last appearence as a villain for Vilgax by the ending of seasons 1-2 and also it marks the last time we saw Kevin 11 other than his appearences in dream sequels of season 4 episodes like "Ken 10" and "A Perfect Day".
Amazing reaction👍🔥
Welp another week of waiting for season 3😩
Nothing can beat the original classic series of Ben 10!
Hm, would it be a spoiler to say that this was pretty much the last Episode were we physically see Kevin in the Original Show?
Actually, how far are they actually in right now?
Wait- really? Kevin really isn't there for 2 seasons?
He is in the dream episode but ye this is his last actual appearance, pretty wild.
@@blackknight6757 yeah, pretty much,
Pretty wild right? I didn’t realize that either, until I watched The Ink Tank.
@@blackknight6757 yeah man, this is the last time we see him in the flesh in the classic series. He only has 4 episodes in the entire series excluding a dream sequence, speaks volumes as to how memorable he was that he’s easily one of the two most iconic villains from this show with so little screentime.
the last thing Kevin got from Ben until AF was Ben's shoe on his face lol
My favourite episode❤
1:06 there will be a new intro for the 2nd series named Ben 10: Alien force. It takes place when he's older
My favourite episode
When you see how much more efficiently Ben is with using his Alien's when he's not restricted by the timeout function u truly see just how skilled Ben is.
Diamondhead is literally walking currency
Probably my favorite episode in the show
This episode is the pure definition of pure perfection episode at best finale for ending the season 2 of Ben 10 Classic on a good high note.
This is one of my favorite
It's worth knowing that Ben has to practice his moves to do the crazier stuff he does. That skill carries over to his human form.
The battle between Ben vs Vilgax and Kevin 11 in the null voide dimension space is by far one of the most memorable to iconic battle from the entire franchise.
This isn't anime it's a fucking cartoon guys there is no second intro
There's a ben 10 movie, called Secret of the Omnitrix
Is this the first time we actually see inside the Null Void?
"a kevin arc that makes us like him again"
about a show too soon
I never actually watched all of the episodes of Ben 10, it was good to see this one! Kind of like a special if he had full control! I always thought of Ben 10 like one of those shows you could watch whatever episode, like Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Oddparents, and the order never mattered, so I watched all of season one and occasional episodes of the other and got back into it for Alien Force, but that’s a story for another time!
Episode 13 Ben's Alien Appearences: Upgrade, Gray Matter, Diamondhead, XLR8, Heatblast, Wildvine, Wildmutt, Rippjaws, Stinkfly, Four Arms & Cannonbalt.
Love this episode because of the epic and iconic battle/fight between Ben vs Vilgax & Kevin 11 is by far one of the most memorable moment from the entire series to end up the seasons 2 finale and also I do really really really love and enjoy the concept of Master Control that enables Ben's ability to switch one alien to another.
That would be pretty cool if Kevin had a redemption arc.
Um.
yeah that would be so cool right?
BEST BEN 10 EPISODE EVER!
You are going to have to wait for the next series for that to come back
There's no time limit on the ominitrix anymore!? Let's go!
Ben only gets master control on special occasion after this episode and doesn't really show up again until Alien Force/Ultimate Alien I think unless he cracked it again later on in classic that I'm forgetting
Yes, in Alien Force a certain someone gives him access to Master Control during the Season 2 two part Finale. However even in Alien Force, Ben is incredibly proficient with the Omnitrix and can switch between Aliens without Master Control. This is evident during his battle with his palette swap and other battle with (Blank)Star in Season 2. The only difference is he can’t stay as an Alien for as long as he wants.
They do explain why his watch seems to time out at random moments later.
13:06 "Does he know?"
Font worry about The changim in fight feature that feature will be in show but different mechanisim from master control
Ben vs Vilgax & Kevin 11 battle rivarly = Raven vs Trigon & Slade battle rivarly of Teen Titans during the 3 episodes finale "The End" of Season 4.
the intro for ben 10 is legit just clips from the episodes the only bit that looks less good is the icon versions of the aliens which isnt because its older but a style thing
Aww yes Gwen being a plumber what some wanted at the time
haha dont worry u will get the Kevin arc.. but you will have to go through the alien force and beyond!!

One of the only good things that the reboot made, make that Ben can't turn back to human.

@vetarlittorf1807 how is Kevin redeemed out of nowhere literally from the start it's shows him trying to be a better person which I think just comes from maturity as it's a five to six year gap he would grow up a little bit and it's shown that most of his evil actions when he was a kid are from the power not something he would have done otherwise

@@sethgibson5148 UAF was pretty bad actually. Ben and Gwen were given interchangeable personalities, there are tons of retcons, it tries to be mature but ends up being edgy, the action is very bland and the alien roster lacks the balance the classic roster had. Omniverse was somewhat better, but it still fell into the same trap as UAF is and also butchered the character designs. Not saying OS is perfect, but at least it knew what it was going for.
am I losing my mind cause I swear this was already uploaded
Also when did vilgax get frozen? Doesn't that happen in the movie?
when his ship exploded, he was most likely thrown in space by the blast, and slowly ended up frozen
