Rich is speaking the truth. My first marriage ended because she was studying with a class "friend" at the university which I paid for 100%. Luckily I did not have any kids with her so I was able to escape that nightmare. But in hindsight it taught me a lot about human nature, myself, and how to better navigate in my future relationship.

I've had this exact conversation with two girlfriends I used to see. They each had male friends. I warned them each that their friends would want to smash if they ever had the chance. The male friends were there already in those cases before I came along. I don’t deal with women who have male friends around anymore. Became too much of a recurring theme.

64 male here. I have female friends. The only issues I've had is that many women don't want to remain friends. They want to go to smash and relationship. That has been my experience for decades. I learned long ago, thru a disaster marriage, that if a woman doesn't want to be friends before marriage, she's not going to be one in the marriage. Too many today want to lead instead of join the man in living life. They love going out when you date, but as soon as they feel secure in the relationship, they want to lead and drag the guy to all the events their fellow females have planned. You can see the same dead look in the other women's husbands and dates. They were all drug there to please their lady. Me, I want a lady to join me on the motorcycle, the boat, at the beach, out fishing, on camping trips, on runs to the store, cooking, etc... Some women talk a good game, but they want to do their stuff or nothing at all. They would rather curl up on the sofa with a throw and watch Hallmark or a romantic movie. They're so wrapped up in their self (feelings), they don't see past their nose. All they know is me, me, me.

Guy friends that i knew and myself in high school, college, would simp and help women we want as friends, hoping that they realize that we are nice guys, and we are too afraid to shoot the shot and get them, and we continue to simp, hoping one day the girl "friends" make the move and say they like us, and thats when we jump in. Needless to say, people i knew and myself included, as betas, has taken the shot and could never recover after that, we lost that woman "friend". Thats the only way we ever get to be around them and spend time with them, while they wait for alphas and some sleep around with alphas. If we dont simp, its a rejection right away. I’ll say this: I generally have a reasonable amount of options, not the best not the worst. There are some (some) women in my circle of friends I generally enjoy hanging out with. Similar interests, activities, sense of humour, ect. But don’t think for a second I wouldn’t go for it if the opportunity presented itself.

This is why i left my Ex she was trying to hang out with her male coworkers. She tried to go on a lunch date with one, as friends. I said ya go but pack all your stuff first. So, I’m now abusive and controlling and all her friends don’t like me anymore. We split up not long after and low and behold she ended up dating a coworker that was just her friend before. Best part is he dumped her after a few months and i moved on so now she is stuck in struggle mode LOL.

She's right you were controlling. You can't tell people who to be friends with but you can decide whether you want a relationship with that girl. The more you try to control her the more likely she will be secretive and not be transparent with you. That's how you drive people away. Why do you have an issue with her dating a coworker? I relocated to a different city, I met a female who was totally interesting we conversed, had dinner, went bowling and to the movies but little did I know that she was keeping in contact with all of her exes and male friends, she was known around the city…as big as the city is but on our second year of dating her and her gf went to Miami but she didn’t tell me that she hooked up with her ex bf/FWB basically she lied to me about the trip when I tried to call her she wouldn’t pick up the phone she sent me a pic of her and “gfs” but she finally told me last year that she was with her ex, later on I found texts messages and pics on her phone and computer she told me he was just a friend and there’s more to this story but I say females who have a lot of male friends stay away from them…btw I love and really e joy your content please keep it going

@5:18 Gillian's face totally changed when Rich delivered irrefutable facts. I follow his example, and I try to generally speak from an 'I' point of view, as he just did here. It makes a whole difference to say something along the lines of 'I make sure not to do anything that compromises my relationship' or 'I prefer not to compromise my relationship my doing X, Y and Z', compared to a generalizing 'You shouldn't do things to compromise the relationship' or 'Men/women shouldn't incur in anything that might compromise the relationship'. This is so true. When I was young, I was interested in women and dumb enough to approach in that "friend" way just to get close or look like I was a catch. The attraction is there and a man will hope for a woman to come on to him. Some of those women I knew would play the friend role but in no time would completely "ghost" me because the fact is that they don't want to waste time with a "friend" either.
Bottom line. It is a waste of time and eventually the woman will be in relationships anyway, and then you definitely don't want to be involved.

A lot of women like to have a male friend or two because men are straight, talk directly, talk about the world and how it works. Which is a great relief to these women from the often times bitchyness, hidden meanings and inward looking tittle-tattle talk of her female friends.
A lot of women have some male friends because they fundamently are not attractive to them, so they can be relaxed around them. Often they fail to understand this is not the same viewpoint of the guys.
Many women have male friends because they can use them for free assistence/validation or because they are plan-b in storage.
It's the guy's job to figure out what the situation is. At the end of the day, if you are presenting yourself as a strong capable man with self respect, she is likely with you for her desire for you... if you don't measure up in her eyes it doesn't much matter if she has to call a name in her phone or go off to the nearest pub, she can easily replace or supplement you.
For men, you can have female friends, if you have interests in common, but importantly, if she really is a friend then she can provide you with access to her social circle and that is a major advantage because you come pre-verified as her friend. She may even work to actively recruit possible girlfriends for you.
You watch for her trying to simply use you without returning benefit to you. Watch for signs that you are allowing her friendship to take time away from improving yourself or allowing yourself to avoid making the effort to pursue other women.
Women may claim that having a male friend is no different to a man having a female friend. They KNOW it's not the same, the women who cling to this claim are just trying to keep their options open for shady behaviour.
They know that a man who is validated by other women being around him is desireable. Men know that a woman with other men around her is a risk for betrayal and selling him a child by another man.
A woman who keeps male friends that results in betrayal can still exit a divorce with cash and prizes in most jurisdictions. The man who cheats with his female friend pays the cash and prizes.

The only time this is not true is if the woman is in a relationship with a friend.
Then we hang out because it comes along with our friend and sure, we might like your personality and respect that you are his partner and you might very well be a very fun person to hang with.
But if you weren't my friends partner, there would be no relation unless i as a man was interested in something deeper with you as a woman.

I think you can be friends with the opposite sex, but it won't be the same kind of friendship. I know a straight guy who is friends with a lesbian. A gay man will be friends with women for genuine reasons. Family friends can also be genuine friendships. My male childhood friend is also friends with my oldest brother. He will go to my parents' house and bring coffee when we're not even there. He's genuinely a family friend.
So, there's definitely exceptions to the rule. However, most men will agree to sleep with a female friend if she asks him.
That's the sad truth. I hated being a girl in middle school for that exact reason. When my body started changing, my male friends started treating me differently, which made me want to become a boy. It took me a while to accept reality.

I am a straight man and have lots of female friends. American culture is different, though.
I have female friends and always have. I am not friends with them because I fancy them, if I did I would have made it clear to them very early. What they are basically saying is that they don't want anything to do with women they don't find attractive, which is just nasty, and believing that men and women can't have shared interests other than sex is from the fucking Victorian era. I have, however, had a couple of male friends who were long term "best friends" with women, both of whom eventually made passes at them. The difference between me and them; they both never had a girlfriend and were still virgins well into their twenties (in fact one of them still was when we lost contact around age 30), whereas I had regular girlfriends plus occasional casual liaisons until I settled down.
Ultimately it's man that decides how attractive a woman is. She can do whatever she want and think whatever she want. In the end if the high value guy they crave just says no, i don't want to be with you for this reason the problem is solved. Our job as man is to learn these valuable information, make mistakes as early as possible and with the least amount of conseguences and block the rest. Women like those are the average women of today which infact went with the average guys of today... the "high value guy" will ultimaterly go with the high value woman. It's a 1% that finds the 1%. I say it because I have experienced it in my own personal life. It's not just wealth or muscle. It's the mind and the ability to remain totally detached that i developed especially when i dump a woman i don't like. No attachement or feelings later on.
My experience as a guy is that women don't want to be "just friends". Yeah it goes the other way too. But I have had no woman ever want to be "just friends" with me in a way thats actually a true friendship. Theres always an alterior motive. Even when I legit just wanted to be friends and nothing more. Then they get mad at me for not wanting it to be more than friends and they usually suddenly will ghost or rage quit the friendship. So wonen who give me attention, even saying they just wanna be friends, makes me sus, because 99% of the time it means they want more than that.

I've always been of the same opinion. Never really had women as friends, as we don't have similar interests. And I also think that anyone who thinks that it works to be friends with the opposite sex (assuming they're heterosexual). Think about this for a minute... Imagine your girlfriend/wife/whatever (or boyfriend if you're a woman), tells you that she's (or "he") going over to her/his friend of the opposite sex to them, to hangout and watch a movie. If the thought of that doesn't jingle so good in the back of your head. That's why.
