      @@kenzo7513 none of them where top level..he ducked top level or was KO'D by them..the only decent top level opponent was a 38 year old Holmes who came out of retirement to fight Tyson and had only one month to prepare for the fight..why didn't Mike fight Foreman, Morrison,Bowe, Moorer, Tua...these were quality opponents.What prime are we talking about?..when he lost to Douglas he was 24 ..how much prime than that...in fact a boxers prime is early 30's.
      I tell you Mike 's problem..he had no fighters heart and he couldn't beat adversity plus he couldn't adapt..he had no plan B.He never avenged any of his losses all were by knockout.I don't see him great at all.His reign was short, he didn't proved himself as a great Champion..he won his belts from low level Champions ,not great champions(one was a light heavyweight)..if you want to be great you have to be a warrior and defend that belt as many times as you can against top level.

    I hate it when people who never watched Tyson in his prime think that he can't box and that it was all based on power and intimidation. Before he started slipping and having all that personal drama, he was a complete boxer. Tough punching power, yes, but also a good jaw, solid defense, and fast movement. Eventually, everyone was just melting at the sight of him, so of course he would just swing wildly for the heck of it.

      Perhaps. I am a big believer in that if Cus D'Amato hadn't died before Tyson became heavyweight champion of the world and had lived and trained him until Tyson retired, things would have gone so much better for Tyson. Tyson really looked up to him as a father figure and I don't believe he would had as done as bad in the ring and out of the ring later on in his boxing career had he still had him as a trainer and someone who looked out for Mike's best interests. Seemed like too many around Tyson were around him for all the wrong reasons and didn't do so well in keeping him grounded and focused on the techniques that made Tyson so great earlier on in his career when he really kept his head moving. Tyson had a really tough life growing up. It was quite remarkable despite that what he still achieved.

      Mike Tyson- The champion of "could haves". He was very good, but no where near the best. KOing a bunch of nobodies an old great and a light heavyweight does not qualify you as the greatest. Especially when he lost every time he fought great fighters. And yes, Foreman hit harder as did Shavers.

    Its unfortunate to see so many people belittle Tyson's legacy. I think most of them who down talk him and what his did in the ring do it because of their personal disliking of him. I agree Tyson made it easy to dislike him due to his behavior during the post Rooney days. But put all that aside and judge him strictly on his abilities. He was the epitome of the word "Savage". People like to discredit others when they're talking about his prime years, saying he was still young and in prime when he lost to Douglas. Prime isn't defined by someones age. He lacked discipline and needed structure to keep the train on the track. When he was well conditioned and trained, he was hard to beat.

  • @scottimus432
    @scottimus432 2 роки тому +2

    Tyson was a legend. Quick work in the ring. Amazing Mayweather was able to stay 50-0 with so much round exposure in the longer technical fights. Tyson had 15 1st round victories and most of his fights were less than 5 rounds. Iron mike indeed.

      Tyson is one of great boxers but he just beat 4level fighters in a very weak era he notable win was just against a old Holms , other ones he beat were just bumbs whome not in top 200 HVs of history , he lost too a 3level Buster Doglus mother died , with giants he lost Holyfield twice and Lennex. Tyson not ever in top 10 HVs of history. During his prime there was not a true fighter. ,he even lost too Forman , Faraizier , Shaver , liston , Norton, whome all Ali beat them.Ali RIP is the GOAT , Ali beat every heavyweight in history in his prime , even after prime and with a very sick body he beat legends , Fraizier twice , norton twice , big Forman and so many others , just see the legends he beat , Sonny liston twice , Paterson twice , Foreman , Freizier twice , Norton twice , Shavers , Jimmy Young , Ron Lyle , Jimmy Ellis , Zora Folly , Terrell , Archie More , Chuvalo , Copper twice and ... Ali change boxing for ever and break the sports rulls and split boxing history too before and after Ali , he was lion far far better than legends like Jack Johnson, dempsy , SRR , Joe luise , Paterson , Marsiano , Fraizer , Foreman , Holms , Tyson , SRL , Duran , Roy jones , Lennex , Holyfield , klichcos , .... and todays bum joks AJ , Fury , wilder , he fight and win very of his big fights after his prim robbing by us gov and with a very sick body that show how lionheart he was ,only 3 time lineal heavyweight champion in history , he fight in golden heavyweight era when many of those days boxers are legends of history of sport and easyly beat fighters of other era and Ali rull that time , he is not just best heavyweight of all times but greatest boxer of all times and sport man of last century no one can even close too him , he win trilla in manila , norton 3 , spings the3 lineal championship and... with parkinson. He was champion even out of ring the man with honor who gave up his title and best years of his career for peace,Ali rull the era with gods of HV history and beat all of them at least once even after his prime , legends whome distroy today joks Fury , AJ , Wilder , Ali fight 25 top 100 fighter of all times and beat 24 of them at least once , Fury fight just 2 top 150 , one 38 old (velademir) two who not know how to box (wilder) his other oponents are not in top1000 an these are facts. Even my faverite Mike Tyson fight with some boms and he lost too Buster Duglas a3 level boxer and Holyfield twice and Lennex . No one in history even close too Ali , he will die in the ring but refuse losing like Foreman fight and trilla in manilla that his wife told docters before the fight seeing signs of parkinson. He was lionheart he is THE GOAT.if there was Mount Olympus and all boxing gods of all weights live there , Ali is god of gods he is The Zeus.
