I'm have 2 hives beside each other infected with chalkbrood, I'm on the same way of thinking as you, I'm glad to have found this video. It's a hygiene problem that takes a while to rectify, don't spread it is good advice because that's what I've done trying to use old frames with lots of winter ivy honey I transferred them to other hives, but all that done was spread chalkbrood and destroyed my healthy bees, so not as simple as changing queen of that was an option, still need to clean up the infection or better still starting again in the new.
Sorry you've had that in your hives! Another thing you can try is using Apiguard. That can help clear it out. Requeening helps, as does, as strange as it sounds, giving the hive a whole banana.
Sorry to comment bomb lol but did you say Apiguard will fix chalkbrood sometimes? I don't use it normally, but that's very interesting I'd like to try that!
