- After traveling the world and chasing competitions for years, South African professional surfer Adin Masencamp, finds himself at home with time to reflect and surf the world class waves on offer. Directed by Michael Veltman, the film highlights the financial pressure surrounding surfers trying to qualify for the World Surf League Championship Tour, while showcasing surfing in its rawest form.

Adin, first of all wow! Incredible film here its visually stunning and the footage is sick! Soundscore and editing are top shelf. Most of all your story... your refuge at caves and of your toils on the QS, your family's support and sacrifice backing your singular goal of CT qualification which is why im writing you today and hoping i can reach you. Please dont be upset or offended and consider my advice and leave emotion and ego aside. Ive been a fan of yours for awhile and love your surfing but the CT is not for you. Stop now, get off the grind and invest that money in a college education. Something broad like business admin or something. Maybe get a job in the industry. U live in a wave rich region so surf for love save your cash and go on surf trips! You can have a great life if u plan accordingly or you can bankrupt your family and come to this same realization anyway after having depleted any remaining accrued family savings and credit making the business of life moving forward much harder. Even if u manage to qualify u wont survive the mid season cut and boom back to the QS grind. Cant take anything away from you bru its been an amazing career! Now time to grow up and take steps to insure that you can earn a good living and raise a family of your own. I know its none of my business but i have the best intentions and wish you success and happiness whatever you end up doing!

Great video. Great story. Great surfing. Big waves. Courage. So, what is still missing for the CT ? In my humble opinion:
1. Your board seems a couple of inches too long for your style of surfing.
2. Going left, your back is not always straight -> less esthetic.
3. Going left, your back knee is sometimes too open -> less esthetic.
All this is fixable. I wish you all the best !
