- All good Texans should have their cowboy hats and boots ready to go at a moment's notice. We talked to David at Sam's Western Store about how they get the perfect shape for your hat.
These folks are the real deal. I am 59 yrs old and they have shaped many hats for my family.
That awkward pause at the end of the video is priceless
Wow!!! It worked!! I put an expensive leather hat to the test,...I turned on the steam kettle, I worked it for about 20 minutes and WOW!! It looks almost like new for an amatuer.....thank you for this youtube instructions!!

That shop reminds me of a place in Las Cruces, NM that is the same as Sam's Western Store, meaning, this shop in Cruces sells hats, boots, overall clothing, saddles and animal feed
Hi Beaumont hat guy. Did you know Tommy Teal? My grandfather started the American Hat Company in 1915. I grew up creasing hats and Tommy taught me how to drink beer and chase women. Tommy worked for us for many years. He died I guess a year ago, and I am guessing he knew everyone in the Western Wear biz. I miss hats. I miss Tommy.

Boot barn has fiberglass molds that they put the hat on to shape it because most people that work there can't shape a hat .

I had a very expensive beaver felt cowboy hat bought for me but it’s a 7 3/4 and I wear a 7 1/2 so it’s hitting my ears. The person that bought it was crying. Is there a way to remedy this? I’m really not interested in adding the spaces inside the brim.

Can't you all make hats like they had in the 40's and 50's western movies. Just watch a few movies from that era you'll see what I mean. I like the hat Errol Flynn wore in the saloon scene in Virginia city, Or where can I find a leather vest like the Virginian wore in his tv show but in a tan? Or even more modern the hat James Cann wore in Comes a horsemen.
