Thank you both it was a very beautiful interview, gentle yet profound. With regards to the growing numbers of conspiracy theorists and magical thinkers on the planet at this time. I am reminded of the psychiatric disorder known as a" folie a deux" (madness for two). Which is treatable when the two are separated, however it seems that there is a folie for millions ( sorry don't know the French for millions ) that is far more difficult to treat and appears to be spreading as a global psychosis!. It is likely only reversible if there is a global "spiritual awakening". The antidote to the primordial fear of death of course is realization of and re-cognising of the Truth of the one conscious Self. As Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj once said " in a room of sleeping people when one awakens eventually all will Awaken". Robert Adams was more laconic when he said - " we are all hell-bound for heaven" .... Thank you Om Shanti Shanti Shanti OM...
That is what I have in common with Francis I am a math teacher and always explain my students exactly the same that Francis is saying here By the way The head master of my school which is a hard core materialist is not so happy with my teachings
David Bohm is another example of a scientist/mystic. And to some extent Maurice Wilkins. Both of them were connected with Krishnamurti. I am a composer (amongst other things) and I can attest that sometimes music turns up out of nowhere. My training enabled me to work with it. But bits of melody, harmony and rhythm do indeed turn up out of nowhere. It is most odd, and wonderful. Re Pi, I wonder if another species, with another physics that perhaps engenders a different relationship with matter would have come up with it like we did - perhaps what we find is predicated on what we want or need to find.
It seems the interviewer assumes that people concerned about corruption are conspiracy theorist and have some deep psychological brokenness that those concerns arise out of. I completely disagree with his dismissal of these people.
Yes, it is so satisfying to hear fancis' view of the Turing test, which I used to wonder about always. The fact that an entity that has no way of 'grasping' the meaning can be attested as 'concious' was disturbing. But to now see our own mind as a turing machine makes the situation symmetrical, and truly takes the meaning out of the materialistic realm. The point to note is, even we cannot rationally grasp the act of understanding. In the end, it shows 'we' are not machines, even if machines can do what we can
If we consider that we all share the same conscious being, then both, those who are in favor of the conspiracy theory and against are part of my own self and the last thing that a person who consider himself spiritual like the questioner should have done is to ridicule those who think different from him. For the things that has to do with the relative material world I always accept the science opinion because the scientific method has proven to be the best for this kind of thing, therefore I already signed in my consent to be vaccinated in the school where I work and also would be very happy of having a 5g phone with faster connections and more capabilities but I would never laughs at those who think different from me. That is exactly why it has been so difficult to get a consensus in matters like global warming and other issues where the different opinion have turned in the discussion into a battle field.
I like the kind way you look at things, but I'm afraid 'science' has little to do with the ideas of 5g or vaccinations being safe. Propaganda and profit do. Just because someone who stands to profit repeatedly tells you something is safe, doesn't mean it is. Believing it may just make you naive. But thanks for being more open minded than the interviewer.
Maybe these two distinguished gentlemen should revise their attitude towards some of their peers. Those who, for the sake of critical thinking, risked being fired, denied civil rights, beaten and shot at by armed forces, censored or shamed by the media and mocked by so many. We owe them gratitude, not scorn. To stand your ground when spineless opportunism and deceit run the land... that to me is more spiritual than what you tried to do here :) Wish you all the best.
Always nice to hear Francis speak. Yet what a pity that the lovely interviewer appears to display his narrow mindedness in putting so called 'conspiracy theorists' into a box presumably in order to make himself feel superior. Why is so far-fetched to acknowledge that 5G for example may well cause harm to certain people's health, and that such harm might well have an effect on our global immune system and it's susceptibility to a virus? 5G, just like the Covid vaccine simply hasn't been around long enough to know if there are any long term ill effects, period. The blanket term 'conspiracy theorists' serves only to arrogantly close an argument by an ego that thinks it knows it all. Fortunately, and perhaps ironically, this discussion does include the all important subject of the necessity of the mind to recognise it's inherent limitations. How often this is forgotten however when we are faced with a group of people who believe in possibilities that we are not open to.
5G conspiracy is just stupid man, the frequencies used are safe, they are in a well studied side of the electromangnetic spectrum, we know how that works. Is just you that are lazy or with poor education the one who need to educate himself before speak ridiculous childish "theories", spreading ignorance.
I have a small issue with Francis' "Chinese Room" analogy by which he proves that AI machines can never be as good as humans. The analogy assumes that a human "has consciousness" whereas the AI machine he developed "doesn't have consciousness". What I've learnt from Rupert (his UA-cam videos) - who's a student of Francis' - is that Consciousness Has you, me and everything that can be thought, perceived, sensed etc. and not the otherwise. The core of non-duality is based on "There is only Consciousness. Nothing else!" If this basic Non-duality principle is agreed to, an AI machine developed by a human is also 'in consciousness'. Infact, the interviewer tried to probe further by saying what if the complexity increases and the understanding is developed in a non-native speaker. I agree with the interviewer. It's not such a utopian philosophical argument either. Don't we have numerous such examples where someone does something so exceptionally well they never had any formal or informal training for it. Srinivas Ramanujan gave us mathematical theorems which he or anyone else couldn't prove then. The proof of some of those is still being worked at when the results of the theorems are found to be true. Why can't this same logic be applied to an AI machine developed by a human. When Consciousness can make innumerable species from a protozoa to dinosaurs using mutations, evolutions and Chaos in general as excuses - giving human level understanding to an AI machine is a child's play 😁.
Yes, I agree with you. Besides, from the Absolute point of view both sentient ("with Consciousness") and insentient ("without Consciousness") are both ultimately inert.
I thought that Francis used that analogy to show that the mind is not the knower of the mind. I believe I have heard him say elsewhere many times that an AI could conceivably possess self-awareness. Last, although everything is a form of Consciousness, not every form knows itself as Consciousness.
The machine is finite, a product of a finite mind. Infinite intelligence has no need of any- thing. There is no-thing to need. Conscious-ness can-not be created. It is in-finite, eternal. Every- thing perceived by finite intelligence is perceived as existing or 'standing out'. The seeming universe is per-ceived by the five senses. What happens to this perceived universe when you close your eyes? If you had no senses there would be no-thing to perceive and what would remain? Pure awareness, only that thing-less thing(sorry for using words, but as finite non-beings what can one do other wise?) within us, EXISTS. It is The Great I AM. And we are, ALL of us, THAT. I AM THAT, I AM. As that great comic character used to say, "I AM WHAT I AM, AND THAT'S ALL THAT I'AM!
@@tomfisher9089 You too are a product of "my" finite mind. Are you Finite? Answer this question honestly to yourself! When you give objective quality to anything - a person or a machine - your finite mind tries to give it "finite" color because it cannot capture it otherwise. In reality, every'thing' is "in" consciousness and also itself "consciousness" - the absolute or infinite. No need to create Consciousness as there isn't anything other than it.
@@ellisgarvin Of course - not only every form but, infact, no form knows Consciousness - including the 'form' of an enlightened Buddha or Christ. It's not the job description of a 'form' to know Consciousness. Only Consciousness knows itself!
The mind "reacts" after the event, it's never at the point of happening. The next thought is just a reaction to the previous one, in a continuous chain, on automatic. This mind is incapable of conceiving, just a fake tool for a body to support a separate identity. When I realised this, for a short time I "died" then went into unity with everything, but was in a while dragged back to this craziness, as there is still conditioning to chip away.
calling people conspiracy theorists is a conspiracy like way to judge them without willing to go in to the matter don't you think so questioner ? what are you afraid of if you think you live the truth : nothing , and you are open to the debate ; some branches of science simply replaced the institutional religions to judge everything what is not according to their ideas ; fortunately Francis corrects him by pointing to search for the balance .

Yes! It doesn't matter what country people are living in, desperate to keep a roof over their heads and feed their kids, desperation knows no race or ethnic divide. By what Francis had to say I'm not sure he actually "shares" same consciousness or he wouldn't have been able to be so glib about people struggling financially as millions are. These ivory tower gurus have no use in today's society...it's time to stop being people ( the conditioned dull inhibited robot of society) and become HUMAN living from what we know in our hearts is True and stand on our own feet to create a reality that works for US! Mind, ego, heart, spirit...all have the same underlying potential of change and that's what the times are calling out for now. Why get on your knees to people who have no idea what you're going through?
He literally states that the path he took was because the financial freedom was not valuable for him and it didn’t bring him happiness. I read comments like this and I know you don’t have the keys to the castle because of this man’s job is not to spend all of his time from the ego at point of you and expressing his sadness for the suffering in the world. His focus is to help all be more like Mandela and not defined by the circumstances so your comment really in my opinion just connects to your egos need to get the sympathy because of maybe your own situation. Or maybe it speaks to how depression is a big part of your life because you are consumed by the suffering of others? I don’t have much more to say other than find out who is in your sense of suffering will be different and your judgment probably will follow away and you’ll probably feel happier even if you aren’t rich and even if everyone else isn’t rich.Enter hold space for the suffering. We all have our place, and the sooner we can honor everybody else’s path the sooner we will find peace
@true Iris seems to believe Francis isn’t sharing the same consciousness as others, and suggests he’s being callous towards people who are struggling financially. The point of this teaching is to look inward and see, who is it that is there? Am I a separately existing entity or am I the Whole acting and appearing as an apparently separate entity. The teaching is not meant to address financial hardship. It’s meant to point directly at what you are. If you wait for some time in the future for when there isn’t a crisis to have a good look inwards, you’ll never see the truth. You and Iris can complain that it’s too windy, and why doesn’t Francis do something about the wind, but you’ve built your house on sand. Try finding the bedrock and come back and complain then
Can every person who wants to comment or argue about the truth or falsity of a theory-conspiratorial or not-stop and ask whether they’re really getting the point of this teaching? Is this really the forum for that sort of debate? If the interviewer or interviewee have said something that compels you to object, why don’t you sit on that feeling awhile and ask yourself how attached you are to being right? Frankly, I didn’t tune into this video to rehash a debate about cellphone technology, and I don’t believe this video is offering that as a takeaway.
I like Francis but the way he described past trauma dying from lack of attention in the closet. Sounds a lot like spiritual bypassing. I get that you don't need to search out your trauma if you don't want, but the notion that you just finger snap it away by realizing your eternal self in the moment, doesn't seem true to the actual mechanics of feeling through arising old trauma. Maybe I"m mis-understanding his statements here.
I think I can relate to this comment in the sense that he is really mental and he’s not so much the teacher for you if the work you are meant to be doing currently is somatically-based
As you discover and live your Truth as a non-local beingness, your traumas will peel away like layers of an onion. As Francis points out, the past will come find you when it’s time. You don’t need to wallow in it. At no point did he say anything about finger snapping and making it instantly go away.
The interviewer projects an inauthentic aura, as if very conscious of trying to appear as cool, smiling, unruffled. He appears to be trying in this way to impress Francis. Maybe us too.
it is right. unless people are out of money to put food on the table, and in danger of becoming homeless, life is not bad. so those of us who are still able to cover our basic needs need to keep our chin up, and not add to the general misery
AS much as I admire Francis - HE BELIEVES EVRYONE IS HAVING THE SAME SCIENTIFIC DREAM IN REGARDS TO MEDICINE MY HOMEOPATHIC DREAM IS BEYOND HIS LAW OF PHYSICS?.
"All the recipes that don't work". I suppose we can look back now and see that the scientific "recipe" that was promoted as being both safe and effective didn't work. I'm disappointed by the narrow-mindedness of these two lovely gentlemen. Maybe they have broadened their views somewhat since the time of this interview.
There in no pandemic by any true metric. There is only the lying media and those with their heads stuck into the black screens. Nothing is actually hidden, except from those who have lost the ability to use their own independent thought, and who have been deceived through clearly false fear-mongering. NOTHING IS HIDDEN... All the real data is available, and none of it is hidden. But the minds of many appears to have atrophied.
even 40 year olds, if exposed to the virus, are ending up with serious illnesses even after the virus clears- ruined bone marrow, lungs destroyed, neurological malfunction and so many diverse serious conditions. In the times we live, this is considered as a crisis. In the times gone by, we need people to drop dead like flies, to call it a crisis. But, fortunately, or unfortunately, we have higher expectations from our race, so it is a crisis
I have a great respect to Francis but not to this guy who brought the subject of conspiracy theories which now we can see is true I suppose he has Buddhist background and now after couple of years some of the so called theories become true we shouldn't discus this stuff here on the path to the truth
If you are not a separate entity then why do you answer the question (near 30’) as someone separate from all the jobless whose problems you reduce to merely psychological? And separate from the other side of the world whose problems are more than psychological? How disappointing. Who cares, if you have money in your account, and if everyone already has netflix! OMG you still think consciousness is real without empathy.
There is nothing called science..as all of you are sleeping with eyes open.. it's hilarious ☺️.. dreaming with eyes open is called a thought.. Come out of it
All these glib non dual teachers preach about Truth, and then ignore the Lies, and talk about illusion, Maya. And most talk about enlightenment as a commodity, and encourage self doubt because you haven't "arrived" yet. No different than the hundreds of religions that have done more harm than good over the ages.

Try finding the bedrock and come back and complain then
I hear you two being dividing too in the way you choose to laugh at people with other opinions than yours🤔
It makes sense to try not to judge others because we often project our own doings onto them.
What a beautiful ?
it is right. unless people are out of money to put food on the table, and in danger of becoming homeless, life is not bad. so those of us who are still able to cover our basic needs need to keep our chin up, and not add to the general misery
Depression is a privilege ;)
"I"; seems like a conspiracy theory lol.
Lol checkmate incoming
A warriors call dot com has some leads to facts that cognitive dissonance will rear its ugly face.
Crisis ? Challenging times ? Its a hoax mate. Strap on a pair and I dont mean skates !
What's the weather like on your planet?
There in no pandemic by any true metric. There is only the lying media and those with their heads stuck into the black screens. Nothing is actually hidden, except from those who have lost the ability to use their own independent thought, and who have been deceived through clearly false fear-mongering. NOTHING IS HIDDEN... All the real data is available, and none of it is hidden. But the minds of many appears to have atrophied.
It's a crisis nonetheless
@@the51project What is your definition of true metric?
even 40 year olds, if exposed to the virus, are ending up with serious illnesses even after the virus clears- ruined bone marrow, lungs destroyed, neurological malfunction and so many diverse serious conditions.
Why did you even watch the video?
