Hey Madox, honestly, even if Mark Martin's last round was as clean as possible, and Trung Bao's last round was as unclean as possible, I would (and most people would too, I believe) consider Trung Bao the champion. Trung Bao had a lot more skill and flow. Mark Martin was just really boring, like, any amateur beatboxer could make a more interesting routine (regardless of how untechnical an amateur's routine would be)
Yet again Imma hit you with a hard one, I don't know if you can analyze loop battles, but RYTHMIND vs NME was really close and kinda split people as well. Love you, Mad-boy
I'm not gonna Lie. Both the times I watched this battle, Mark feels very Creepy. I don't know why but ugh, his stare and the way he was so overconfident felt just wrong. And the conversation between him and Trung at the end of the overtime round didn't give good vibes at all as Trung's face fell from whatever Mark whispered in his ear.
Very much needed type of content for beatbox community! Helps to understand how opinions are formed, and be able to implement it to the performance/wildcard. Being conscious about what You do is the way to go. Bid respect for great observations and entertaining content, Madox!

In my opinion, when i was the first time watching this video 1 years ago like when i way very new to beatboxing, when i hear Mark Martin round, in my brain its like "There is nothing impresive why everyone cheering?". in the other hand, Trung Bao beat makes the people watch him hype up. I think this is why peoples more prefer to Trung Bao than Mark Martin. This is just my opinion ahahaha i still respect every beatboxer that battle in the stage.
At the end its all about taste, everyone can have his own opinion! As a judge taste should play a smaller rule tho I think, more important are the musical rules and originality.

I think this notion about Mark Martin just grew because of how it became a bit of a meme. In my personal opinion, Mark's minimalist-musicality approach paved the way for SO many other Beatboxers. After watching: LOL I guess they both just sucked a little this battle. 😆 At the end of the day, they both used this experience to grow a lot as Beatboxers and performers.
You are absolutely true, Mark showed that you can battle with focus on flow instead of fast beats, too! And we all know where this trend went to - 2 years later we had Codfish winning the GBB with "just kicks, snares and throat bass".

I'm learning way more from this series than any other beatbox content on youtube! The point of a battle is to convince the judges so it's really nice to see something from the judges point of view

I would like to emphasize even more what everyone should really understand (I think You mentioned as well), one is having all the time in the world to listen carefully the rounds, play them back if need and etc, other making the in decision in the moment live without ability to play it back and analyze deeply. As well, some competitions can take up to 10-12 hours (so that's the time of judge needed to be focused). And that's on organizers. It would be nice to hear Your insights/opinions on live judging moments, elements, that many audience members/observers/viewers of videos don't see/know/understand. As You said one about jury panel should be able to hear PA instead of monitors.
