Madox did a detailed analysis of this battle, part of the issue was the judges didn’t have good audio so Trung Bao’s sounds were less hype for them. He said basically that Trung Bao was out of routines and freestyling at this point and has some issues with mic technique and sound quality. He had Mark Martin winning the first round for being better planned and cleaner, then Trung Bao for the second round because it was more hype while Mark Martin had some mistakes and a disappointing drop. Then for the overtime he thought Trung Bao was too chaotic and random, so Mark Martin just staying clean and consistent was enough to take it. It’s kind of a disappointing final overall, in the video I think Trung Bao’s sounds are more interesting to listen to, but with the judges bad audio it was probably too chaotic to sound good at times. Madox said he prefers judges are in/behind the audience so they hear similar audio as them.
Trung Bao vs Tyla Dubya and Trung Bao vs Mr. Wobbles are both more hype from this year. Sometimes the best beatboxers get matched up early and end up using their better routines before the final.
Different times yeah , trung bao was new to the scene pretty much and mark martin is real OG. IMO 2012-2016 there was a lot of battles like this one , people were biosed so hard back then. Anyway still waiting for the greatest fucking battle i recalled haha. NAPOM vs VILLAIN | Semifinals - American Beatbox Championships 2015.
Rip Trung Bao, the biggest robbery in beatbox history lmao. Mark Martin had the most nonoffensive, basic beatboxing I've ever seen whereas Trung Bao did some unique things for the time. Also, your beatboxing is improving, just a few more years and you'll be GBB Champ
I didn't really really liked both of them to be fair. It's good to see video's like these to see how far they've come in a few years. Please do Saro & MB14 as a beatbox duo, Wolfgang (not the loopstation one, you did that one before).
Yo, you reacted to the CJ x Kara tag team, but they also battled each other in the Grand Final of the Iranian beatbox championship. You should check it out.
I gotta agree with you on this one. Definite robbery against Trung, but Im gonna say this again here tbf about the alexinho battle. The judges weren't reacting to a lot of parts of Alexinho's first round in that battle either. When we were listening at that time, I remember when it had first come out and it was a clear win for Alex. First one came in clearner with a buildup, and just took it down then. Second round which is arguably D-low's stronger round unfortunately he did his signature at the time but even his signature didn't come out as good as he usually performed it, and alexinho just gave a solid round. Unfortunately D-low was still finding his thing at the time, he was too young. The year Alex won the official world champ in 2018, D-low didn't even qualify to the battles although admittedly that was controversial.
Dharni and Gene are Mark Martin friend and Kaila (the female judge) is his GF so you know this battle gonna fucked up, Kenny reaction at the end say it all
Biggest robbery in beatbox history, Marks sounds might have been cleaner because they were basic, but aside from that he had a lot of connections in the scene at the time and basically, he used his douchy presence to bully his way into battles. He relied on intimidating his opponent more than his beats but that only got him so far, this was basically his one and only accomplishment in beatboxing and hasn't done anything since.
