That is Keith Richards singing. This is from the Tattoo You album which came out in 1981. One of the best albums of all time. You need to listen to Waiting On A Friend, Black Limousine, Slave, and Hang Fire
Hehehe. I've been watching your channel a lot and really enjoy your reactions (and you're vibe together. Its cool. Anyway, I'm a huge Stones fan (for 40 years now) so it's very fun fun watching you all getting into them. Yeah, that's Keith singing this tune. If you listen harder to all the past songs you've done you'll hear his very unique (even odd, some might say) voice doing the primary backup to Mick to almost all of them. His sorta odd voice (but amazingly musical timing) works so damn well with Mick's you dont even realize it's him until you really pay attention. Next time you listen, try to find his voice in the choruses and such (actually, all over) and you'll hear he contributes vocally to damn near everything they do. The "Stones sound". He's a gigantic part of it (mainly guitar, obviously, but his vocals are everywhere, on almost everything).
It is Keith singing. Mick and Keith hated each other at the time. Want to say this was a leftover song from 1972 that did not make it to Goatshead Soup. They shipped a bunch of tapes to NY and London where Mick and Keith finished them on their own. Almost sure all the guitar parts are Keith, maybe some bass? Might have used some session drummers but this sounds like Charlie. They had Start Me Up in the can and needed a new album before Christmas 1980. This was part of that mashup and is one of Keith's best songs. As a personal aside the love of my life I met at 15 and I used to tease her by calling her my T & A girl. It ended with divorce in our 30s. You guys are an amazing couple hope you are together as long as you both want. Happy New year!
Oh shit. I've never heard this song before. Thanks you guys for doing such a deep dive on the Stones. I think you've done like six songs of theirs that I NEVER heard before. Their catalog is fucking sick. I've always called myself a Stones fan but I had no idea.
I will give you a reaction to this. I drove concrete truck back in the 90s and i had 5 south of the border concrete workers riding on my truck to the next job site and this song came on the radio and i cranked it up. They we're dancing and saying rock n roll rock n roll 😂
My first dance with my soon-to-be boyfriend and then became my soon-to-be husband. Over 41 years ago. Later, we learned the name of the song. 😆 The live version is great.
It's pure Keith. Many years later he put out his first solo album after getting tired of waiting for Mick to finally show up at the studio to work on Stones music. IMO, it clearly demonstrated who the soul of the Stones is. Much of the material on that album had the same overall feel as this tune.
Yes, Keith does sing now and then, he is honest vocally though limited but for strait ahead Rock & Roll, he does fine. Try Monkey Man for another Stones classic. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
The Stones are basically the best rhythm n blues group in the world Most of their songs ate based on a repeated guitar phrase or RIFF Richards is the riff master
Tattoo You is such a great album. It has may favorite stones song on it, "Waiting On A Friend." Having Keith on lead vocals is always a good change of pace. Another good song sung by Keith is on the Steel Wheels album called "Can't Be Seen."
I can't believe Keith Richards is still alive. When I was in college, late '70's and early '80's, we were taking bets as to who would go first, Keith or Mick Jagger. We were saying Keith could live without Mick, but Mick couldn't live without Keith. Keith has the real R 'n' R attitude, Mick is just an accounting school dropout. The proof is in the living.
Ohh I like it when Keith Richards sings, it's so raw (and not as harmonic of course) but it fits the music so well, just like "Tom Waits". It just fits! I think you need to hear The Stones "Through and Through" (Keith Richards sings that part). It's short but very good I think. Thanks for sharing and best regards @all from hamburg (germany).
I have a t-shirt from Keith's website. "T❤️A" I'm sure it refers to this song but I wonder if it also could refer to his daughters as in "Theodora ❤️ Alexandra."
Yeah I like the emotional rescue that's what I like to do some emotional rescuing I'm just denied and shining I'm going to there Emotional rescue Rolling Stones it's a good d*** song
You just can't forget can't you hear me knocking can't you hear me knocking that was in the Johnny Depp's blow movie that's a good stone song there can't you hear me knocking can't you hear me knocking?
Tattoo You..... the last great album by the Stones. Great song choice for reaction. As they say, the only two things that will survive a nuclear war are cockroaches and Keith Richards. His solo album "Talk Is Cheap" has some great songs worth reacting to. 🤙
Keith is a little rough around the edges, but this song is about his then new wife Patti helping him get off dope by giving him something else to focus on. T & A with soul, which is why they're still together 40 some odd years later in an industry where marriage is pretty much an expensive joke. When you're on dope, you're not interested in sex because you're too busy being either completely numb, completely ill or somewhere in between. If you do manage to quit, once you dry out and start feeling human again, your libido just comes raging back something fierce because it's been repressed for as long as you've been a junkie. These guys knew what they were singing about and are still out there telling their tale in STADIUMS coming up on 80 years old, sounding as good as ever. Other than the wrinkles, They're literally everything they ever were plus experience.
It's all Keith and for once not backed by Jagger . Keith sang in choir when he was a kid,and I think for the Queen. Unfortunately his smoking didn't help his but didn't do anything to his health. The two dominant voices in the Stones have always been Mick and Keith. Interesting that they out sold and equaled many bands with more vocalists such as the Beatles ,Beach boys ,Crosby Stills Young and Nash and even the Bee Gees 😜❗
Keith Richards singing this one. Always a little bit more raw when Keith sings, and maybe a little less filtered too. Another side to the Stones, and “I like it, like it, yes I do!”
Ahhh I think I get it now. People seem to be specifically recommending Stones songs that have misogynistic lyrics as opposed to recommending their best songs. I didn't realise that was the theme until now!
@Lauren Lewis LOL I expected an asinine response like that. I love the Stones and have done so for decades. They are my favourite band....I don't care about the lyrics - I just pointed out an observation that these are not the best Stones songs - just ones with controversial lyrics. Do you disagree?
@Lauren Lewis I never said that they hate women (you made that up) and I know for a fact that they don't hate women. Which is why i have no problem with their lyrics - and I never said otherwise (as you well know). Look...I'm happy to discuss the Stones all day but I have no idea what your point is or what you are trying to achieve. Why don't you start by explaining exactly how my comments have offended you (without lying about what I said) and then I'll be happy to help if I can. Frankly, you sound like you are just upset that I didn't like a song that you like. But surely you wouldn't be such a snowflake...right?
Excuse me but wasn't this Keith and Ronnie as the New Barbarians? I know Im old but I also remember this as part of Mick and Keith being on a I-hate-us?
Another great song with Keith on lead vocals is Happy.
Another would be Before They Make Me Run
Connection on the US version of Between the Buttons is really good
Also, "You Got The Silver" from Let it Bleed.
That is Keith Richards singing. This is from the Tattoo You album which came out in 1981. One of the best albums of all time. You need to listen to Waiting On A Friend, Black Limousine, Slave, and Hang Fire
Waiting on a friend is my favorite song from them
Love waiting on a friend
I absolutely love "Worried about You"
Don't want to be no slave
Side two is four hidden gems followed by Waiting On a Friend.
Probably their last good album.
One of my favourite Stones songs. Everyone loves a little TnA.
I love when Keith sings. Love his songs.
Man to be 22 again. This is a badass album. Put this in your collection ya'll. 🤟🤟
Brad is Laying OUT!
Amazing to see your transformation to life through these reactions. Keep Growing, Merry Christmas to Lex, Jack & yourself.
It was outrageous back then too. And cool as hell.
I saw this tour in 1981 San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium... with George Thurgood and J. Geils...Epic...great ear Lex...as always...
I remember that tour. What a lineup!
They had Thorogood and Journey in Buffalo and Journey got booed..lol
I saw them Oct.24th and Oct.25th 1981 in Orlando Fl. With Van Halen and The Henry Paul Band.
Saw em in 81 too in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Stray Cats opened, tickets only $15.50 !
i was at that show-then attended the 2 LA shows a couple of days later (w/George Thorogood, J Geils, and Prince)
Another great Keith song is "Happy". He's really a family guy. He's been married to the same woman for over 40 years.
Greatest Rock N Roll band ever 🤘🤘
There are so many fantastic songs by the Stones, it's impossible to pick one fave. I have faves, as in several, and this is among them.
Brad got this one !
Very good Lex, picking up that it wasn’t Mick singing here. It is one of the songs Keith sings.
Hehehe. I've been watching your channel a lot and really enjoy your reactions (and you're vibe together. Its cool. Awesome!
That's KEEF singing a love song to his woman! Sometimes Keith sings for us. When asked why he didn't sing more he responded; "Then what would Mic do?"
Keith!!❤ Happy birthday! Just turned 79 yesterday.

Great groove on this one.
One of my favorite Rolling Stones songs, I like all the Keith Richards vocals songs
What a great metaphor: "the pool's in, but the patio ain't dry".
Great, underrated Stones song.
She's Little Rock 'n Roll would be a name for it.
Keith is rock and roll. Great reaction!
My first dance with my soon-to-be boyfriend and then became my soon-to-be husband. Over 41 years ago. Later, we learned the name of the song. 😆 The live version is great.
Funny thing about Keith i think,is that he writes and sings his best stuff on his solo albums, apart from a few like Happy and Walk b4 They Make Me Run
And You Got the Silver.
@@jimmcdonald4087 I got the silver is my all time favourite Keith song.
I love this song. Lex is so cute I loved watching her grooving to it.
If you listen very carefully
You can hear Mick yelling lycs
In the background 😊
My favorite stones song
I love this song!
Keith Richards is the epitome of cool!
Now you have heard the real master behind the Stones. “It’s not the rock, it’s the roll”. Keith Richards.
It's an affectionate "B!" loll
Yep, Keef on vocals. Great metaphor from Brad!!
#2 on my STONES playlist
❤🎶🎸🎸🎸
#1 "Start me up"
I love Brad’s look when explaining explosives 😂
I luv them😂❤
It's pure Keith. Many years later he put out his first solo album after getting tired of waiting for Mick to finally show up at the studio to work on Stones music. IMO, it clearly demonstrated who the soul of the Stones is. Much of the material on that album had the same overall feel as this tune.
That bass really drives the song
Some girls Rolling Stones you won't regret it
Brad & Lex, you’ll love their "Lets Spend The Night Together" !!!
Great song!
Listen to Keith’s “Before they make me run”
FIRE!!!
Love how Brad broke down the t and a🤣
This is a good one!
Yes, Keith does sing now and then, he is honest vocally though limited but for strait ahead Rock & Roll, he does fine. Try Monkey Man for another Stones classic. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
That's Mick Jagger screaming in the background during the chorus. 😉
Otherwise, this song is all Keith Richards.
Mis-heard lyrics: Where he sings "shock them, show them", I always thought he was saying "I'm shotgun sure now", which is a pretty good lyric too.
The Stones are basically the best rhythm n blues group in the world
Most of their songs ate based on a repeated guitar phrase or RIFF
Richards is the riff master
Another classic from the Glimmer Twins
You got it Brad. Lmao
Yep, that's Keith!!
Tattoo You is such a great album. It has may favorite stones song on it, "Waiting On A Friend." Having Keith on lead vocals is always a good change of pace. Another good song sung by Keith is on the Steel Wheels album called "Can't Be Seen."
God…i miss you guys on UA-cam!

It's Keith Richard's voice you're hearing.
I'm just like I'll make Jagger just at night and shining armor coming to their emotional rescue
Keith is singing little t&a
LOL Brad!
Ohh I like it when Keith Richards sings, it's so raw (and not as harmonic of course) but it fits the music so well, just like "Tom Waits". It just fits! Keith on vocals 🖤
Keith Richards is pure 🔥🔥🔥
I have a t-shirt from Keith's website. "T❤️A" I'm sure it refers to this song but I wonder if it also could refer to his daughters as in "Theodora ❤️ Alexandra."
I love this song! It's actually one of my most listened to of this year, but I had no idea it was sung by Keith 🤦
Keith has a couple of great solo albums. Check it out!
Top 3 stones song in my opinion 😁
Star Star by them next please, you will love the lyrics
Great song, Great album (Goatshead Soup)!
Imagine getting to hang out with Keith Richard's for a day
"All about you " is another
Gem with Keith singing lead.
Who did you think sings all those sweet backing vocals with Mick?
That's Keith!!!
Yeah I like the emotional rescue that's what I like to do some emotional rescuing I'm just denied and shining I'm going to there Emotional rescue Rolling Stones it's a good d*** song

Tattoo You..... the last great album by the Stones. Great song choice for reaction. As they say, the only two things that will survive a nuclear war are cockroaches and Keith Richards. His solo album "Talk Is Cheap" has some great songs worth reacting to. 🤙
Love this song so much
Keith also sings " Happy " 1972.
Keith wrote this for his wife and was the main vocalist. I liked it and still do.

Keith on vocals❤
I guess the Stones finally got satisfaction.
Y'all should do the Kinks : Father Christmas. In the original video they're all dressed like Santa. It'll blow your mind.
From tattoo you!❤ (1981)
Brad's analysis was spot on. Tattoo You is a great album even though it was made up entirely of songs which didn't make it onto earlier albums.
Might want to re-read that comment Robert, did make me chuckle though.
@@robertbagley9199 I edited but was tempted to leave it lol
Heaven and No Use In Crying were written for Tattoo You but the others were from earlier all the way back to 73
@@flyingburritobro68 Really? I always read that “Heaven” and “No Use in Crying” were developed during the Emotional Rescue sessions.
Lex is right, AGAIN😀. It’s Keith Richards singing. BRAD is right, T & A has one meaning to guys!

This is a case where the song title is better than the song itself.
It's Keith singing. He does several of their songs actually "Happy" is probably the best one.
Love me some keef😂
Tattoo You I thought to be a great album. I like Keith Richard's lead vocal on this one , stout. Thanks yall and Merry Christmas to everybody .
Keith!
Read Keith's autobiography, "Life" or listen to Johnny Depp read the audiobook. Keef is a one of a kind.
If you listen closely, you can hear Mick singing the background
Excuse me but wasn't this Keith and Ronnie as the New Barbarians? I know Im old but I also remember this as part of Mick and Keith being on a I-hate-us?
EXILE on Main ST - Greatest RS Album. Try it!
