In this short video I show an example of how amazing the receiver in the FTdx10 is for CW mode. At first the station isn’t even moving the S-meter. And I am using AMP2. I rarely use anything other than IPO for SSB, even up through the 10-meter band, unless the signal I’m trying to pull out requires more receiver sensitivity. But for CW, the insertion loss through narrow filters can be overcome by using AMP1 or AMP2. I didn’t even use the Audio Peak Filter or my notch trick with this station. The combination of the 300Hz roofing filter, DSP width at 50Hz, and DNR at 15 was enough.

Indeed! It still amazes me how much radio we get for such a reasonable price. Radios in 1959 cost almost the same as the FTdx10.

Yes indeed. I looked at everything out there and there was nothing else on the market that gave the value that this one does. I would love to have that 101 but the value add didn't match the dollar add in price.

You are correct about the 101. The FTdx10 is the best value in amateur radio.

The FTdx10 is an absolute CW boss. It makes it worth learning CW.

@@n4hnhradio I started learning CW about 6 weeks ago. I'm really looking forward to the day that I make my first contact with it.

Congratulations! CW is a great skill to acquire. I hope to hear you sometime. I’m usually chasing CW SOTA/POTA/DX stations. It’s a great way to improve copy speed. I wish you great success.

The FT-891 is nearly as good at CW, using the same settings.
