    THIS IS NEXT LEVEL VOLLEYBALL!!! 🏐🔥

    • @MonkeyNeuronActivation
      @MonkeyNeuronActivation 3 роки тому +8

      When you're blocking and you're trying to focus on the ball while glancing at spikers' movement and you only see the top of people, wearing the same shirt as a libero actually gives you some slight advantage.
      I think that's kind of unfair for the opposite team.

      Maybe it depends on the league, and perhaps Japan has slightly different rules. I can see this as something that is illegal but not really enforced, especially as this is an international game and no ref wants to say, "You can't play because you're wearing the wrong shirt". I doubt USA really cared either.

    I'm Japanese and I'm not good at English, so I used translation. So it may be hard to read ...
    After investigating, I found that in 2005, the selected team from Hiroshima Prefecture won the National Sports Festival held every year in Japan.
    (In Japan, high school students can play games as selected members of the prefecture only at the National Sports Festival)
    So I thought that it was the winning member or the Hiroshima selection of the next lower grade that was in the match.
    And I think that many of Hiroshima's selected team members are still the strongest Soutoku (崇徳) high school's players in Hiroshima.
    I didn't get much information when I looked it up, so it's just my guess, but I hope it helps.

    The girls having a completely typical high school girl conversation during the whole match is hilarious. Also whoever is on the camera did a great job.
    It's crazy Taylor Crabb didn't make varsity given how good he is, what a stacked team.
    Was there really a touch at 26:37? By who the blocker or defender? The video quality is surprisingly good for 2007, but I can't see a touch and your whole team thinks it's out.

    Also, any tips on dealing with shoulder impingement? Been seeing a massage therapist(proper physio one) every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years, but all it takes is a a few hard games of beach and I'm back to barely being able to lift my arms above my head.

    • @UVjoint
      @UVjoint 3 роки тому

      Does your physiotherapist already make you do shoulder external rotation workouts? I think strengthening the rotator cuff (edit: and related back muscles) and learning to activate it while hitting really helps in this regard. Even my technique is poor, but I just wanted to suggest a general area you could target if you aren't already.
      For most of us, our hitting arm is also our dominant arm. And if we spend a lot of time at a desk writing, using a mouse, etc., that side gets weak. My physiotherapist already told me that my right (my dominant/hitting side) shoulder blade sits farther away from the centre of my back than my left one even when my arms are completely relaxed. This means that my right rhomboid, and maybe even lower trap, is weak(er). So I try to do rotator cuff exercises regularly.

    • @michaelnguyen6891
      @michaelnguyen6891 3 роки тому +7

      Ushijima's power and height is more western and international style. If you want both power, height, strategy and speed watch Higashiyama play in 2020 and 2019, Ran Takahashi hits at 325cm (average international contact height) and their the other 4 hitters hit at 305cm. Higashiyama, I'd say is way better than the team we just watched. The setter is more consistent on all hitters' max contact in both traditional and unorthodox combos, the libero can run a fast emergency offense. And they have 5 competent hitters who can hit hard and manipulate the block instead of just 2 like this team (11 and 1). Higashiyama defense is also better, the middle make way less mistake even though this team has already make few.

    I tried to search up if the Japanese team played in the "Haruko", which is the nationals for high school volleyball in japan, in 2005, 2006, or 2007. I realized from this video that their uniform has only one kanji character, which is their school name, on the left chest. I checked all the schools with only one kanji character that played in the Japanese nationals in 2005, 2006, and 2007 but there was no team with a red jersey or a jersey similar to the one in this video. So I don't think the team in the video played in the nationals back then.
    There are many good teams that are not able to play in the nationals because there is a lot of competition(for example Yuji Nishida, who plays for the Japanese national team, couldn't reach the nationals). I'm a Japanese speaker by the way, so I was able to do this search. If the video had a higher quality, I might have been able to read their school name.

    The defense for that Japanese High school team is at another level 😳 I wish I could’ve had that defensive awareness in high school 😂
    At 3:46, 3:50, and 6:45 those were awesome ups 🤯

    japanese players attacks are focused on everything leading up to the attack while american players seem to focus more on the hit itself both effective the high tosses allow the bigger americans to take more time in the air and pick there spots

    Would be crazy if you battle against a team doing something similar in a 4 vs 4 at the beach. Idk if would work but would be wow. Anyways, this match was intense, two great teams.
