I watched it a few days ago and I fucking loved it. I'd go so far to say it's the best zombie film I've seen since 28 Days Later. It has all the scares and thrills you'd expect but the characters and the writing are so top notch that even if it brings nothing to the table like people say, it doesn't really matter since you're so invested. The ending alone is so powerful it makes it worth the price of admission alone. I was tearing up to the point of crying and for a zombie movie of all things to do that. It must be a really special film.
While I can't say if it was the best zombie movie since 28 days (which technically isn't a zombie film, but that is an old discussion), I know that I liked this one a lot too. The ending was a tad predictable for me, but I am not unfamiliar with Korean and Japanese films, who share a similar bittersweet tendency. But it was a strong ending and not the usual stuff we see in Western films, so thumbs up^^ Many characters were a tad too cliched but tolerable for me, the atmosphere was brilliant and I liked the fat "gangster" guy, he was adorable as the tough guy who only had a little scrubble in his face as a beard^^
Ibhorrible: This movie is light years better than World War Z. And if you thought that the CGI was too much in this, at least it actually looked like real people, WWZ looked like a PS3 game most of the time. Horrible CGI throughout. 'Train' is by far the superior movie.
I saw this one on the big screen during the "Fantasy Filmfest" in Berlin. It was great. Without spoiling anything I would say, this movie proves the theory, that it's always the last part of a film that decides if we will remember it or not.
Did you check out The Wailing yet? Directed by Na Hong-Jin & starring Kwak Do-Won & Jun Kunimura. It's a bit slow but very well shot. Not too sure what I think about it after watching it once but it was one hell of a experience!
I loved the human drama and the way they filmed the geography of the train so that you know which characters are where and where the zombies have taken over the train. It was very easy to follow and most of the characters were very memorable
Something not mentioned, this film works as a kind of sequel to the animated zombie feature "Seoul Station." That film sets up how the zombie outbreak began at Seoul station, Korea's biggest rail hub, among the homeless and thus quickly spread onto the trains and around the country. The voice actress of the main character in the animation also makes an appearance at the beginning of this film as the person who brings the "virus" or whatever onto the train.
Glad you watched it. I loved the movie. Was an enormous hit in the Philippines. It's the kind of movie you can really watch with that crowd because they also love their Korean Dramas (and Filipino Dramas). There is something that this sort of Korean Drama evokes in certain people and if it doesn't then that isn't the person's fault or the movie's. They are just not for that audience.
I think the bad guy who killed the main character is cheesy. I mean like really? not letting that group in bc he's afraid that they're infected? you could learn from the movie that ppl will turn in a minute. And that fight in the end was so unnecessary, I mean he fought multiple zombie with bare hand, 1 zombie shouldn't be a problem I guess. But hey that's just my opinion
_ baktom Well I think it depends on how they got bitten! If you watch closely you'll see the dad and the husband and the bad guy took a long time to get infected!
Thanks man! The first is part of this series of designs of serial killers tarot card style, haha... I got the Ed Gein one, from the Museum of Death in Hollywood, L.A. But I presume you could get em somewhere else as well!
The drama was so thick I could take little pleasure from the previous action scenes. But what do I know, still haven't seen Neon Demon. Fast zombies still...I feel like they represent a fast natural event, rather than the fear of being overcrowded by slow older people.
I know I'm far from the first to say this but do The Wailing, just watched it last night and I thought it was incredible. It's 156 minutes long but I think it used its runtime well.
I actually never talked about Suspiria on my channel! But to answer the OP, yes I've seen it, and I like it. It's just been (too) long since I've seen it!
Horrible Reviews Great atmosphere and soundtrack for the film being made in the 70's. It would be cool to see a top 10 list of the "forgotten" horror movies, such as "Supiria" and "The Legend of the Hell House" .
theycallmethedoc I have been subscribed to HR since the beginning of my junior year of high school. (2013) Reason I know this is because that was my first year i had study hall and I Burned through his videos everyday lol. And I haven't seen him talk about Suspiria so tha'ts why I asked. Dumb question on my part cause his movie collection is massive.
I think Suspiria is anything but "forgotten" though... Ask any (serious) horror fan about Suspiria, and they'll love it/own it/have it in their top favorite movies list.
Horrible Reviews Kind of an odd movie that you might like Is Called "Coherence" It's more Psychological sci-fi than it is horror but it's a good watch. You can find the full movie on UA-cam as well.
Hey guy, you can please do a video for the lars von trier movies, I love them so much, and have greatest movies like dancer in the dark, dogville, melancholy, nymphomaniac, the idiots. And really see you talking about the dancer in the dark and dogville, will make very happy, is two of the best movies I see in my live. Keep doing this great work. :)
I watch it in theater and is really awesome but i think a lot of gory scene get cut off so you need to buy the blu ray when it came out (sorry for the english becaise it not my first language)
I actually watched this movie last week.... well yes, over the top Korean drama was expected, just wish they had toned it down a bit.... the plot was good.... overall a good zombie flick ..in fact aside from The Boyscouts guide to the zombie apocalypse movie ...i cant think of another relevant zombie movie for 2016.... so yeah if you can get passed the Korean over the top drama its definitely a good show !!
Really appreciate what you do, man. Keep it up. Look forward to your vids all the time. Have you seen 'Noroi: The Curse'? It's presented as a Japanese 'horror mockumentary' by Koji Shiraishi'. Long, but it's presented extremely well and unsettling all throughout. l think you'd enjoy it. Also on UA-cam if you haven't seen it.
What drives me crazy is "fast" zombies. They are re-animated corpses! I cannot get my head around how a moving corpse can be an Olympic sprinter ... Still, this was a good review and I would actually like to see the movie regardless
The "Horror"-label is given way to easy anyway, even the twilight-saga is often called Horror in my tv-guide. I didn't see all of those films but i'm pretty sure it stays pretty much the same "romance fantasy drama" thing it was that first hour i saw (after that i zapped away, because of this film not being horror-ish at all). Also good example is Blade (which i do like very much) but it's not really Horror, it's just a great action film with vampires in the lead. Horror is not just the presence of vampires, werewolves or zombies, but much more the tension, gore, creepyness, etc. That's my opinion anyways.
love your videos, keep making them and I'll keep watching them. not sure but have you seen invasion of the blood farmers? if not check it out. another movie you should check out is 555, if I remember correctly it's a slasher film. they r both "so bad it's good" movies. have fun.
:D I actually watched this film only about 6 hours earlier in cinema (German time, of course). What a coincidence! I thought it was extremely exciting and well acted. Hey what do you think of that movie? I have seen the trailer and some little reviews but have never actually talked to anyone directly about their opinion. I don't know that I wanna dedicate any time to it.
CT I I thought it was excellent. Especially given it was shot on Canon 5D Mk II's with a tight budget. I really liked it.one of the best zombie films I've seen in a while.plus I hate that one guy who essentially kills half the cast. definitely give it a watch of you haven't. plus anyone got recent news of the remake or sequel?
Yeah exactly I thought it was super fun. The great thing about Korean cinema is you get so involved with the characters even if they are a piece of shit person like in the Chaser you really end up feeling for them. Train to Busan is definitely worth checking out. Also I recommend The Chaser and Man from Nowhere and Memories of Murder to anyone who enjoys extremely well done thrillers
if anyone could recommend any (good) zombie films i'd love you forever. ok but seriously i feel like i've watched so many i wanna check out a some new ones
I was trying to figure out what exactly bothers me about this movie, did I have too big of expectations or is it that is full of cliches or...and after some thinking finally got it...it just bothers me visually - colors are so oversaturated and every scene is just too over-lighted or how to say it properly...no shadows at all, cinematography is just so bad, it almost looks like a cartoon, but not in a good way...
Why are you not so interested in foreign films? Because you'll have to read subtitles? Because that's the only difference I can really think of, and perhaps some cultural differences. But it's just a fun fun zombie flick, so if you don't mind reading subtitles I'd say go for it! And if you do mind, still give it a go, never hurts to broaden your horizon ;-)
I actually watch subtitles with every movie I see lol its actually a habit. Just the majority of foreign films I've seen, have been pretty hard to understand what's going on. Maybe I need to take a break from Takashi Miike movies xD
World War Z sucks, don't even bother. The best fast zombie films are the Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 Days Later( even though they aren't technically zombies)
World War Z was a good movie. Not a great masterpiece or anything, but a solid fun movie, with a handful of decent ideas. If you are not expecting an A+ movie, I think you can have a good time.
Hey Horrible nice review man. You should check out World War Z - it's actually pretty good for a Hollywood movie. Not great - but has its moments. You get those "everything wrong with" and "...sucks" videos on everything from The Godfather to Peewee Herman. Everyone's a critic lol (except you really are). Boom.
I personally can't stand those CinemaSins videos, but that's mostly due to the narrator and his sarcastic delivery that just annoys me... But Adam/YourMovieSuck's two-part video on World War Z isn't just criticizing for the hell of it, it seems like he's done more research than the filmmakers themselves. Even if you love the movie, check out the videos if you can, they're both funny and informative. But, thanks! For the comment
The production cost for "World War Z" was more then 200 mio. US-Dollars. And "Train to Busan" a small fraction of it. And both are totally different. "World War Z" as the title named, it shows the globally virus outbreak. "Train to Busan" focus more to the main characters on the train and at same time it is a kind of allegory to our society.
Ancala Bond nercoed to make a correction, they didn't make a movie if World War Z yet, instead they used it's name, it's main charcters name, and some of the locations to make a movie in which had no other connection to the book. This was as much about the World War Z book, as the movie Battleship was about the movie named after, and promoted as being inspired by it. The worst part is, that because of that crapfest, it's unlikely we will get a real WWZ movie, although I've long thought it needed to be an HBO series instead of a movie or two. Basically cover each POV chapter in one or two episodes, although more if needed for more involved POV sections. Otherwise I don't see how you could actually cover the book, I mean the book was looking back on what happened on a workdwide scale, not what a single person ir group went through, but instead it had chapters for everyone from an enlisted person in the US military, a Air Force officer and cargo pilot, an Iranian military pilot, a South African, Cubans, a former hired gun, and on and on. I mean they could have done the movie as a prequal, and basically have it covering the period the infection wa ps spreading, up to say the Battle of Yonkers, and let that lead into the HBO series of the actual book.
Its so funny in the end that the soldiers need some fucking advice to their superior if the need to kill the last survivors inside the tunnel or not because they can't confirm if they are zombies or not. Like....do you really need some advice in that matter??? Can't they just wait for them to go out of the tunnel to confirm if they are zombies or not???? It's so fucking idiot.....i hate this movie actually, zombies are so smart for a zombie......worst zombie movie ever. 😐
I'm so glad you are posting videos again. You've gotten really good at reviewing movies!

Korea does love over-the-top drama in their movies. The over-dramatic grieving scenes in "The Host" were supposed to be a parody of this I think.
Have you seen The Wailing? Another korean horror movie to come out this year, and it's fucking insane.
Lucas Garibaldi bro you've seen it??? It's total fuckin' bonkers i loved it!!!
i agree.
Lucas Garibaldi The Wailing is fantastic!
ive heard about that...i want to watch it so bad
agators212
It's on kissasian.

It could have been 30 minutes shorter. I thought it was really good but they kinda mucked up the ending a bit.
I loved the human drama and the way they filmed the geography of the train so that you know which characters are where and where the zombies have taken over the train. It was very easy to follow and most of the characters were very memorable

I've been looking for your channel since i was a senior in high school! 4 years later i found your channel again.
I love Zombie Movies...Another add to the list...I know you're busy brother...but keep them coming!
Cheers from Brazil ! Just love your work.. best reviews ever! Congratulations and keep the good work.

Can you do a review on that "Silenced (Do-Ga-Ni)" movie you mentioned? I would like to see your take on it.

A man of his word, uploading on wednesday :)

Love your reviews! Hi from New York! 😊
I love 28 Days Later. That's like the only zombie movie that is really well done. I can't explain why though.
As a beer lover I wish you would put the name of your beverage in the description as well for each video :D
Have you seen I am a hero? It's a japanese zombie movie base on a manga with the same name. It has some cool action scenes
Yes I have! Indeed a pretty cool movie, yes
Korea loves his drama xD god i love your Vids keep on going =DD
I watched this today, and loved it!! :)
The drama was so thick I could take little pleasure from the previous action scenes. But what do I know, still haven't seen Neon Demon. Fast zombies still...I feel like they represent a fast natural event, rather than the fear of being overcrowded by slow older people.
You should definitely check out "infection". A 2004 horror flick. Might be your kind of film.
Guys how can I rent this movie!? Can't find it anywhere. Searched playstation store, xbox films tv, Netflix, amazon, etc. Where did you all find it?
Just finished and it is easily one of the best zombie movies made 8-10
I loved this movie SO much...mainly the girl who played the daughter, she is INTENSE. I just had so much fun with it and was never bored :)
Great Movie😍
Finally got to know you are from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I know I'm far from the first to say this but do The Wailing, just watched it last night and I thought it was incredible. It's
156 minutes long but I think it used its runtime well.
Review the wailing ! 👍👍
Hey! Have you seen 'The Neon Demon' yet? If you have could I hear your thoughts on it. I really liked it
I'll let you know on Friday, okay? ;-)
Hey I don't know if you take recommendations or not, but have you ever seen Suspiria (1977) Because i feel like you would appreciate that movie.

The zombies dropping from the choppa were awesome!
You should give a review on Shaun of the dead
I miss watching ur vids, this movie I enjoyed tragically listening 2 Zayn - Dusk till dawn currently😂
Thanks, agreed with your review and really enjoyed the
movie.
:D I actually watched this film only about 6 hours earlier in cinema (German time, of course). What a coincidence! I thought it was extremely exciting and well acted. I disliked the last 5 minutes, especially, when the father's extremely sappy last moments were shown. Overall, I really was invested in the movie and the wrestler guy (you know, the working-class muscle guy) was just badass! Please check out The Wailing, it's a brillant film by Na Hong-Jin of The Chaser fame!
You speak my mind entirely.
I totally concur. Way fun film to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
I seen this the other day, and Im not going to lie the ending made me shed a tear. But the action was dope asf, the acting was okay tho. The Characters what made me enjoy this movie.
have you seen the cartoon prequel to this movie? It's pretty good "seoul station"
what beer is that? Oranjeboom?
Did you do Wyrmwood yet? :D
Hey what do you think of that movie? I have seen the trailer and some little reviews but have never actually talked to anyone directly about their opinion. I don't know that I wanna dedicate any time to it.

I thought it was excellent. Especially given it was shot on Canon 5D Mk II's with a tight budget. Spoke to the writer/directors personally to show my appreciation - even though I downloaded it ;) lol
Definitely worth a go. It's Mad Max with zombies and it's very silly but also entertaining and a great example of low budget indie potential. ;)
MAX LAWLESS™ Thanks for the reply.
CT I
np brah! Check out the movie, you'll dig it I reckon ;)
I really liked it.one of the best zombie films I've seen in a while.plus I hate that one guy who essentially kills half the cast. definitely give it a watch of you haven't. plus anyone got recent news of the remake or sequel?
hello, have you seen the flu korean movie? it's also great!😊
i love Zombies too, greetings from Bavaria, lg. Miriam
I went from watching a video on nail art to Korean zombies. 😱
Will you review Shin Godzilla?
What happened to: "What's Up Gangsters!"
i remember this on netflix thanks for the recommendation. not snow peircer it had me so messed p in the end
if anyone could recommend any (good) zombie films i'd love you forever. ok but seriously i feel like i've watched so many i wanna check out a some new ones
Nice review man, it's definitely World War Z - like. I'd recommend this over World War Z, but WWZ is still worth catching.
What about "The Borderlands" (called Final Prayer in US)? Excellent found footage horror.
I liked that movie alot even though I couldn't figure out what was happening to them in the last scene but it looked terrifying
I could tell you but it might spoil it for others.
Kevin Gillihan Was it like a gates of hell thing? Give me a clue lol
Getting closer.
It looks like a fun movie, but it also looks like I'd be stressed out the whole time. aha
5:30 - my thoughts about Suicide Squad perfectly summed up lmao
Love this movie. It’s brilliant
Let's talk about the flashback of the father ...OMG so intense
WTF seriously.
The end is bad. really melo.
please make a review of atroz (the mexican movie)
you should watch world war z. it's pretty entertaining and there's good acting/production
I enjoyed it but it was too long I fell asleep towards the end I wouldn't mind watching again though
You should watch Train!
Hey a zombie movie where I actually care about the characters
I really loved it, that's it, the movie needs to be good, it was
Do a Shaun of the dead review :)
Is there anyone who has seen all Top 250 Imdb Movies?
LODA LEGA no,why would I want to?
Danny Flanagan I said,Who Has Seen them all,if you haven't then why commented Idiot?
Would I like this if I love zombies but not so interested in foreign films?
Why are you not so interested in foreign films? Because you'll have to read subtitles? Because that's the only difference I can really think of, and perhaps some cultural differences. Oh hey! Schneider-Weisse!
World War Z sucks, don't even bother. The best fast zombie films are the Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 Days Later( even though they aren't technically zombies)
this is just so cheesy and so bright for a zombie movie, i mean the environment of the movie is just too bright literally.
What do you call a Dutch zombie? De Zombie😂
:D
World War Z was a good movie. Not a great masterpiece or anything, but a solid fun movie, with a handful of decent ideas.
If you are not expecting an A+ movie, I think you can have a good time.
It's a sequel to WWZ
It's what happened in Korea
I enjoyed it
Hey Horrible nice review man. You should check out World War Z - it's actually pretty good for a Hollywood movie. Not great - but has its moments. You get those "everything wrong with" and "...sucks" videos on everything from The Godfather to Peewee Herman. Everyone's a critic lol (except you really are). Boom.
"pretty good for a Hollywood movie"
sounds a lot like
"pretty mentally healthy for a holocaust survivor"
I personally can't stand those CinemaSins videos, but that's mostly due to the narrator and his sarcastic delivery that just annoys me... But Adam/YourMovieSuck's two-part video on World War Z isn't just criticizing for the hell of it, it seems like he's done more research than the filmmakers themselves. Hugo Rhodano world War Z was originally a very gripping social commentary.
Then they made it into a movie.
Ancala Bond nercoed to make a correction, they didn't make a movie if World War Z yet, instead they used it's name, it's main charcters name, and some of the locations to make a movie in which had no other connection to the book.
