Hey Phil, thanks so much for all the great stuff you are sharing with your videos. It's been a pleasure to watch every single one of them. Never had a chance and budget to get a good variable ND filter so far and would love to get one. A 82mm one from NiSi would be a dream coming true in my case. Wishing you all the very best for the New Year and keep up the awesome work!!!
OOOO I'm just in time to enter! Sweet :D I'm going to be using this for my Japan trip hopefully? I mean... that's a big if I can even win amongst all these comments. I'm glad I found your channel yesterday. I was contemplating the magnetic filters before but this seems better. It also has mist built in so that works well considering I have 2 separate filters for ND and mist... it's kind of annoying especially when I'm trying to split the two filters. Sometimes they get stuck and I have to throw them into the freezer. I wish all filters were made of brass.
Hi Phillip, very nice video. Thanks! Do you know if I use those filters on Black Magic 6K will it make corners darker using Tokina 11-20mm 82mm? Or do I need a larger size filter of 95mm with the adapter? Thanks again.
OMG perfect timing? hope so :) I'm beginning to record videos with my ZV e10 (a bit of everything, exploring technics, etc..) and I realize that I really need and ND and I would like to have a Mist filter 1/4. I found this system and i think is peeeerfect but out of my budget right now, I would looooove to try the Nisi Swift System. I recently bought 3 Nisi UV filters for my 3 lenses but this... would be amazing to add to my content creator kit. Hopefully I'm n to late for the giveaway :D. Great video btw, looking forward to watch more of your videos.
Hi Phillip! Really nice and helpfull video, it moved me in my decision-making process even closer to Nisi True Color system. I alredy own Nisi ND Vario Pro NANO, but the color cast is really bad. Plus i am really teased to try a mist filter. This Swift combo looks like a perfect choice.
It's funny, Nisi made a lot of really great steps forward in the last couple of years, I too have been using them for many, many years, but this True Colour system is quite incredible when it comes to colour cast, it's literally the best and closest to reality that I've ever seen on an ND.
Nisi has a kit with an IR cut filter for the RED and BM cameras, I haven't tried it, but it's an option if needed, sure. I don't have a RED (cry) or a BM camera to test that out though.
I use for a while a ND filter, but that setup with mist filter looks like a whole different level. I've started my UA-cam channel and I'd love to get one to make movies like yours 😁😉
Hey Philip, they look great. Will they work with Nikon? No one likes Nikon... lol I really should try using filters like these! They look fantastic and easy to use. Greg
I use a 95mm magnetic ND system, and while I do like it, the filters are so thin that I feel like I am going to drop them all the time. The NISI ones seem nice because you have something to hold onto!
95mm are huge, I don't think my Irix cine lenses are even that big. Magnetic ones are pretty cool too, they also do a good job, mind you I feel these are a little more stable.
Does it matter what order the mist filter goes in? My set didn't come with one but I already have a 1/4 strength mist filter. Haven't really played around with it and I'm thinking of putting the mist filter on first before the ND 1-5 and 6-9
so i'm kind of a beginner to cameras and filters. I ordered the ND16 and i'm unsure if i can even use it Can i use the ND16 on my camera without buying the True Color 1-5? And is the ND16 recomendable for very bright locations, for example tropical areas where the sun is very very bright? Thank you in advance
If you picked up the ring adapter with it, then sure, you can use it, unless you bought a screwed version of the ND16. The ND16 is a good one for daily use. The ND really depends on your camera, your lens and what ISO you're rolling on, you'll have to change those to get the correct exposure with an ND16.
I want somethin cinematic and clean footage on my videography. And this nisi swift system fits all on my need. Wish i could be the lucky one to get that in my ✋. Great content boss Phillip 💫
Great content, man you should do a impression on infrared filter, some results are Amazing but you'll kinda get into a big picture so,do that if possible
Infrared was something I played with in my negative days, that was fun and a little freaky too, I'd love to have a camera I could do a conversion on to really get into it, but that's quite a commitment.
I recently got my first gimbal (DJI rsc2) because I wanted to get into filmmaking. Doing small compilations with my two cats (can't get enough cat videos out there, eh?) and later on trying out some storytelling adventures with my kids! Using it with my A7III. I've heard about that rule with the shutterspeed before but not giving it much thought until now when I've started to see the difference in action. Would love to be able to use a kit of those nisi filters for my Tamron 28-75 G2!
Cat videos are the best, I'm a cat person! The a73 is a classic, I use it till this very day, almost everyday. The 180 rule is very important if you want to keep things looking pro, that's for sure!
Hey Phil. I started my YT channel this year and already using some cheap ND filters, but as you mentioned, those are unfortunately affecting on colors in my videos. It would be so nice to try those NISI NDs but this set is too expensive for me... It might be a great opportunity to maybe hangout in Łódź and drink some coffee because Kraków, where I live, is not so far 🙂 Merry Christmas
Thanks so much for the review! 🙌🏻 It would be amazing if there was an option for mist 1/8. Do you think I could combine this vnd system with Tiffen black promist 1/8?
hope I get this filter :).. I'm not a professional but just a hobbyist but hoping to use this kind of high quality filter when documenting our travel and shooting photos
I really enjoy your review! And the explanation of filter system are very detail and almost cover everything which enlighten novice like me! BTW, the girl is very cute and sweet!
since i don' have any ND as of yet, it kills me always to crank up my shutter on a run and gun shoots, especially during mid day when the scene and subject are just perfect. Even in low light situations there are times you do need those NDs to meet with the lighting situations by sticking with A7Siii dual base ISO range. Oh and the Mist filter is a DREAM to come with. It is just difficult to do and create cinematic shots without them. Its not what our forefathers of cinema wants! Sigh...
I went mad when I got my A7S3, and splashed out for the Penis McKinnon Polar Pro Mk 2 set, cost me A$1000 for the pair :( Then I replaced my set of primes with the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8, and the NDs are too small :( :(
Oh damn, I've been there, believe me!! Now, I always, always, always buy 82mm no matter what and have step down adapters for all my lenses, and a few 77mm filters just gathering dust. It's so frustrating!

why use a branded sunglasses on say a snow capped field or even on a bright sunny white sand beach, you look cool definitely but the fact of the matter you can see the vividness and clarity of these beautiful scenes without burning your eyes. This goes the same with them VND filters (true color as they say) it looks cool on your lens as you open up your aperture in 180 shutter rule set at your base ISO... wala! you get to shoot magical sceneries from north to the equator in a pinch ;)
I love going wide open with NDs in bright sunlight, that's a ton of fun. Sunglasses come in handy, and I always make sure I buy the best ones I can get, so I don't screw my eyes up, in fact, just like filters, I have a drawer full of Oakleys and Ray Bans.
I've used a lot of different brands, and I own a huge variety, different designs, this one is no doubt a winner when it comes to colour, it's incredible that there is no noticeable change in colour.
@@Designguidetv I feel a little more confident than magnetic filters, well, some are stronger magnets than others. I've had it on a lot outside and it didn't fall off once, it's friction based and quite tight, but like with anything that isn't screwed on, it's possible with a good enough amount of force that it will come off, however I didn't worry for a second about that and use it all the time when I'm out and about.

Drone coverage - ND, Cinematic Videos - ND, VLOGS - ND, Commercial Shoots - ND, Hollywood Films - definitely NDs, Bollywood - ND, Even photography -ND!
👍👍
Yep, I have an ND for every single camera, I just feel naked without it!

Magnets and VND - sounds like perfect combination.
This one is actually friction based, and works just as well 👌🏻 as magnets, just a little different, but the same lol 👌🏻
Thanks for the useful info my friend... could you also guide on which brand square ND filters are best that have minimal or no colour cast...
Sure, I've heard Nisi have pretty good ones, I'll see if they wish to collaborate on that.
Are the filters like the 1-5 VND stackable? Like using a different diffusion filter on top of the VND
