These irons are so underrated. I got fit for a combo set (zx5s in 4, 5, and 6; zx7s in 7-P) a few weeks ago and was blown away. I live in Canada, and had been hitting an MP 223 demo throughout the winter. Going into the fit, I was firmly set on getting the 223s or JPX forged. These irons were faster and easier to hit than both of the Mizunos. I was surprised at how close the performance is between the 5s and the 7S - the ball speed and carry distance were almost identical. The feel on the 5s is a hair clickier, but not a significant difference. Like you mentioned in the video, the head size and top lines look so similar that they combo up seamlessly. Lots of shaft options which a huge bonus
I bought the ZX5 MKii's and they went directly in the bag after one range session, very nice feel on center strikes, just enough feedback on on the misses to let me know I missed it, but still getting the distance I need.
not sure dispersion / ball speed variance is very honest comparison here. i did not see any pull hooks with the 5. And saw several with the 7. So yeah, ball speed is gonna change when you shut down loft - surprise. Your comments about the sole performance are consistent with my experience. Truly unique.
You hit the 7 last year a lot better. Maybe a bad swing day today. Or you got a shaft that has a spine in the wrong alignment. Being a high speed swinger doesn't help with consistency either. You video last year and several other reviewers, convinced me to jump ship on TM. And I am so glad I did. I still use TM woods and rescues. When I first got my ZX7's, I hated them. Because I wasn't hitting the middle. I never had that kind of feedback before alway using GI irons. I came off a set of RSI 2's into these. Those are players GI irons and I did really good with them. But even those smaller heads had a hollow body and gave little feedback. the 7 and 8 irons faces even collapsed. That was very upsetting. As I am not a high speed swinger. Anyways, While examining my RSI's, I noticed my wear mark was toe side. A good 1/4" maybe a little more. But they felt great. So I took the 7's out again and decided to give them some time before I returned them because I hated them. I drew lines on my ball with a sharpie and saw I was hitting just off the toe. So I started changing my distance from the ball at setup and hit my first shot in the center. Man did it ever feel so so good. Having never hit forged irons before, I at that moment knew what they were talking about on feel. But even more importantly on feedback. Within just a couple of weeks, that feedback taught me to catch the center almost 80 to 90 percent of the time. I was getting the same distance I used to get on my players GI clubs. Working the ball took a lot less manipulation. My swing puts plenty of spin so that was never an issue since I started nutting them. My hdcp went to scratch then plus in just a few months from 4/5 or higher. Pros like feedback for a reason. And now I know why. And the feel.....omg....heavenly. I play the PROV1x and they click ever so slightly. But when I use the the softer PROv1 the sound and feel is more than buttery. Everything about my ball flight got better. And the feel through the turf is everything they say it is.

Just started gaming zx7. And I absolutely love them. I have them 1degree strong, so they fly really well. Feel is soooo good.. my t100s and My mizuno 223 are now for sale 😊
Suprising to hear that the zx series put srixon on the map for you. I still game a set of z945 and have a set of backup z745 that had somewhat of a cult following. The z945 are the purest irons I've ever hit!
I really wanted to like the ZX7's but like the T100 irons they just lacked a bit of forgiveness. Ended up in the Ping i230 irons - felt just as nice, better launch and spin and a tad more forgiveness.
I've been playing ping i500 for a few years. Explosive distance but the feel wasn't there. Tried the ZX5 at the range last week and after a bucket of balls I made a switch. Just got the full set and will hit a driving range tomorrow. Couldn't be more excited. It literally made the i500 feel like ass.
My 525 are trash feeling after my first year last year I feel you bro I’m getting zx7 or PXG 0317 CB probably zx7 because of the shaft options I want $taper 120 s bought Ben Hogan Icon blades in the meantime they are pure player iron forged perfection but you better hit them flush or they go nowhere I need some forgiveness

I used to game the original z x5 but have not gone back since. Had different brands and models since then. Till recently (though still have them as my second set) I was gaming the pxg gen5 which in my mind still have the best feel (5xforged) of any I have tried and even tested in the course - that includes mizuno jpx forged for example). However as much to do with consistency and shaft I am now gaming the p770s and achieve the same distance as my gen 5s even though lofts are 2 degrees weaker - never took to the p790s. Have not tested the srixons since but maybe one day assuming I can find them easily to try out in left hand. Also depends on what graphite shaft offerings they have - ust helium nanocore in the p770s are great as are the project x cypher sim the pxgs. Two of the best shafts that I like. Having tested miura and other Japanese brands - prgr, xxio and more really wanted to like the mizunos but sadly did not measure up equally shaft offering wise. But am very happy with my two sets and don’t see me changing them for the next couple of years at least. But will keep my eye on srixon developments.
I bought the first gen zx7 end of last year. Im a mid handicapper, but out grew my GI irons within a year. These things feel amazing. I hit my 6I to PW great and i am a bit inconsistent with the 4 and 5 iron. I might look at the zx5 for those long irons, but we'll see.

I currently play the Apex 21, but have shafts which i hate - 6.0 rifle project X stiff. Looking at getting a fitting with the ZX5, with a more favourable shaft. In comparing the heads, would the 21 apex be similar to the ZX5? Cheers
Someone who plays the ZX7 needs to find a high spin ball like the B330-S. These have no spin even for their designated loft. Even TXG says "These spin hyper low - possibly find you spin with a ball change". Tour players with these have the loft weakened 2°. If you play a draw and live at elevation at Arizona or higher such as Utah or Denver, look elsewhere because the thin air is going to have the 6 or 7 irons knuckling right off the back of the green
Nice clubs…I have pw thru 5 iron zx7 MK II and zx5 MK II 4 iron…the best feeling clubs I’ve owned since playing and practicing and investing in my game….lefties really do exists…
@@GolfmagicPlus they are clicky. Also the larger sole doesn’t seem to work with my swing. Also I hit both the 5 &6 (ZX5) out to the right. The ZX7 feels great and pretty forgiving.
Got fit into Srixon 785's 4 years ago and have been a huge fan of the brand ever since. Nothing else compares for me.

I went from Mizuno hot metal to the srixon zx5 mk2 and they are absolutely amazing!!
That's a cool change up, with Mizuno being such a soft feeling iron. Srixon is a dark horse 100%

That's because they're not hollow. Multi material yes, but not a hollow core iron like a PXG or TM 790.
ZX7 & ZX5 combo set on order +1 degree week. I need the higher launch and spin. These clubs will definitely provide that.

I think the ZX7 MKII are amazing!! Just picked up a set myself.
As much as I like the feel of the Modus shaft I switched to the Project X LZ 6.5s.
Ditto - feel wise Modus is the one but the LZ's are much more stable

Been eyeing the Zx4 4 iron, Zx5 5-6, Zx7 7-PW. Seems like they did a LOT of good things to the 4 this year to make the Long irons stomachable

Seeing a lot of reviews saying the Mk2 ZX7 not as forgiving or soft as the MK1 - was going to change but think I’ll just buy another set of Mk1’s.
I would say they're not as forgiving, but I wouldn't say they have decreased in softness.
ZX5 are not hollow. They’re forged body CBs with a thinner SUP10 steel face insert. The ZX4 is the hollow model.

I have the original ZX7 and ZX5 combo set. Not the biggest fan of the ZX5. Wish I would have gone ZX7 all the way through.

The zx7 look fantastic. Why did they make the zx5 so horrid? That glurd on plastic piece looks like an after thought and ruins their look.
