Thanks Michael for another quality review. I’ve had the fives in the bag since November and couldn’t be happier. They have added distance and control to my game here in Australia.
@@awp7662 they were launched is September 2018. I have blended set 8-9-pw Z785 and 5-6-7 Z585. The 5-iron is kind of obsolete as my 6-iron carry is around 160 meters and 4-iron U85 around 170 m. The gap between 8-iron and 7-iron is 15 meters so that is a little too much. I am thinking of getting these MarkII:s but what bothers me slightly is the thicker top line in compared to Z785.
I got my first fitting for the 1st time ever on Friday and I'm in love with the ZX7. My stats for a 7 iron was 177metres average carry distance. My club head speed is 96 mph and my ball speed is 136 mph.
I had the opportunity to see these irons in person, and I must say, I was beyond blown away. The milled texture between the grooves on the face are so cool. The aesthetics are incredible. Very small, compact size, but slightly chunky.
I play the previous version ZX7's. I can't imagine anything being better. Butter soft feel with lots of feedback. Great stock option shafts. I don't know if I got lucky but all my shafts are very consistent. Modus 120 S. They were so good I didn't feel the need to pull them and check the spine alignment like I have had to do on all my previous sets, and with great improvements in consistency in distance and dispersion. But mostly I became a better ball striker having the feedback I did not have in previous sets, as they were GI irons. I'm going to wear these out before I change them.
I’m upgrading because the MK2 is slightly smaller head but biggest diff for me is more spin. Apparently new ones spin more so higher ball flight and steeper descending angle.
@@jaychu3850 depends on player. Definitely would get fit since a lot of spin with higher flight/higher descent isn’t that ideal. Want to have a good mixture
@@jaychu3850 Well you should test them first. Sometimes when you up the spin, you lose yardage. There is always a compromise. For me, I make plenty of spin and get plenty of bite with the original MKI. But I only play them to a 6 iron and go to rescues after that. Anyone that isn't a pro should be hitting rescues. They are literally twice as easy and twice as forgiving than longer irons. I can bite a 200 yard shot with a 4 rescue like an 8 iron bites. That means the ball is only a few feet from where it lands at most. I will be testing a 7 rescue to replace my 6 iron here in the near future.
@@tuckerjensen2375 I did. Higher flight and steeper descent is what I want with this club head. I like the 2 degree stronger loft but add spin and it’s perfect for me. But yeah different for everyone…
Game the ZX5's myself. Went in for a fitting considering Srixon, but leaning towards other brands, and walked away with the ZX5's as the clear winner, not only based off of numbers, but the looks and feel blew me away. I've always known Srixon to be a chronically underrated/disrespected brand, but I can personally now vouch for how slept-on this brand is. Would highly consider giving them a go for anyone considering a new set of sticks. They're pure.
Did the exact same thing….. went in expecting to buy either Ping or Taylor Made and walked away with a set of the ZX5’s, they felt great and the consistency was amazing. The ball flight in particular was outstanding and the spin rate so much better than other options.
Srixon Golf are a favorite of Tour players especially when they are free agents and can choose whatever they want to play. Highly underrated but it won’t be for long as they continue to advertise and make great products. I have the zx5 irons in my bag and they are high quality, performing irons.
I have last years ZX5’s. 3-AW and love everything about them. So easy to control, soft feel, and great looking. Shocked that the ZX4’s are 10 yards longer!
Very excited to try these out! I remember trying out the ZX7's last year & they felt the best to me, so these Mk II irons might be the ticket into the bag. Plus, their new woods & the Cleveland wedges are also super amazing this year, so it might be the trifecta!
