I Try Fasting for RAMADAN in INDONESIA... AGAIN! 🇮🇩 (how will I do?)

- I'm back at my Indonesian home in Jember with Ibnu and his Mama. I wanted to come here again this year to celebrate Ramadan with them and try Puasa again. I wanted to try from the very beginning with everyone else and see if I can do any better than last year.
Ramadan is the Arabic name for the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
It is considered one of the holiest months for Muslims and is marked by a period of fasting, considered one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
How did I do this year for Ramadan? Did I survive Puasa?

Thanks Nick. Sudah mempromosikan Indonesia ke seluruh dunia.
Ibnu's mom is the sweetest 😊
she is!
@@NickKTravelhi Nick, its second time you try ramadhan in Indonesia, why you dont try to go to mosque and try the feeling about tarawih shalat, just follow the the motion/movement and then share about youre feeling, i think ut would be nice experience.
your relationship with ibnus and his family is not like a normal friendship anymore, its more like a family. thats pretty nice to see, i bet almost all the food over there is pretty healthy since everything is organic
Exactly! It's so warm
- Before the first day of Ramadan or after the end of Ramadan, we usually visit our deceased relatives (parents, grandparents, ancestors) to pray for them and remind us that sooner or later we will lied-down like them.
- Muslims have been trained for fasting since they were kids (about 5-6 yo) :D
- If you drink too much in the morning you will urinate, and you'll be dehydrated all day long :D
- Headache, uncomfortable feel in the throat, and sweating unusually is parts of the first pace of fasting, but don't worry Nick that's part of the detoxification
- And Iftar (breaking the fast) is one of the best things in Ramadan.
A texas dude in saroong having sahoor is a woww...eat not much...fasting is healthy..peace for you and ibnu's mother and family
Mari explore Indonesia lebih dalam bro..
Love your videos ❤👍
I'm Jember born, long time far away, and it's always makes me emotional every time you make your way to meet Ibnu and the family. I love everything about your channel and it's getting more and more when you're in Jember
I know the feelings- my first time fasting this year, I do to show respect for faith and my islam friends their devotion to Islam - terima kasih brother -
oh that mosque. best alarm clock ever, when you sleeping next to it. Ibnu is still one of our favorite people we have got to know in Java!
haha for real lol... I was able to open the other side of the window too! so it's a little cooler in that room now 😉

@@NickKTravel so good to know! Are u still there, brother?
@@greattinytravels yup!
enjoy Ramachandran month
What a modest and cultured man. Respect ✌️
Hi Nick, I just want to say that you're amazing. You see, when a lot of sympathetic westerners said that they need to visit Muslim countries to change their negative perceptions about Islam, you have changed my negative stereotypes about American Southerners, particularly Texans! You're very sincere and respectful, and we deeply appreciate it. Have a nice time in Jember during Ramadhan!
Fasting is not just about to hold our hunger and lust but one of the philosophies behind fasting in the holy month of Ramadān is to experience hunger and thereby understand the situation of those who are hungry and cannot afford to feed themselves properly.
Nick u are very lucky because can celebrate in indonesia for ramadhan with a lively atmosphere and a different experience than other countries especially in my country singapore.
if you have spare time visit Indonesia mingle with our people. we will always welcome you with pleasure

Curious whether the local people's tree-climbing skills are born, they are too powerful!
I am very envious that you can live there carefree, that is the highest state that human beings pursue!
Thank you for sharing your happy and beautiful life! 👍🥰🙏
Our body need fasting for our health,, n good for mental health too,, the more i old the more i realise that islam is the way to good live,,
perfect nick , iam apreciate for you join the religius islam ramadhan even not your religion, i respect for you to value the region each other even many diferent.. you just more better than local people in indonesia haven't muslim.
Hi Nick,
As a muslim, and most of Muslims in Indonesia. Our first day or Ramadan is very heavy because we're not used to😆 but after we finished day 1, day 2 and so on then we get used to and it's not feel heavy anymore. Tips from me is you can take a nap in the day around 1 - 3 P.M because usually at that time the Sun and the weather usually very hot. And sleep during the day in Ramadan consider as worship rather than doing sing like talking about people their back (ghibah) or any activities which can reduce the reward of the fasting. And back to science, fasting is good for our body, it will improved blood sugar control, heart health, brain function and cancer prevention.
I like this video because it shows life in Indonesia as it is, respect!

Akhirnya ke rmh ibnu lg👍👍👍
Teaches empathy
Ramadan fasting teaches Muslims to feel how difficult life is for those who are less fortunate. When fasting, Muslims feel hunger and thirst, so they are better able to understand the condition of those who are less fortunate.
seeing your video, I feel like a child who wanders and returns home in the month of Ramadan. I love Ibu. Mugi Ibu pinaringan sehat.
May Allah accepts our fast during ramdan and gives shifa to Mankind.
Senang sekali liat nick " fasting "
Saran saya klo mau " sahur " ( breakfast early morning) biar tidak kembung minum air putih hangat. Begitu juga mau berbuka puasa minum air hangat tapi manis, agar perut tidak kembung. ( Semangat n sehat selalu Nick)😊
That's very thoughtful of you Nick to give ibnu's a time with his father
So amazing you successfully for fasting at the first ramadhan this year..
I remember when you bought watermelon juice a year ago in Jember during the fasting month, and it didn't feel like it was now the fasting month again. I hope you can do a better fasting this year Nick 🙏
Saya senang ketika melihat bule sederhana dan tidak mengeluh dengan keadaan, mantap brader
gak terasa saya nonton video ini sudah 1 tahun juga
You are so lucky to be fasting in Indonesia. My last Ramadan fasting was 2012 and I never have that moment anymore. Happy Ramadan Kareem.
Hi Nick, I love how you always blend with local.
Unlike other youtuber who show tourism and things that looks good in instagram, you showed how lower economy people live with you.
You show how they're sincerely excited to share you their humble life and family, how they treat you like a family.
You didn't show instagram culture, instead you showed people with real life, eating just noodle, tofu, and vegetables.
Yeayy ke Jember lagi
My message is that you have to drink lots of water at Suhoor Nick because it will help your body from morning to evening
Aaww..so nice to see you back in Jember and fasting. Selamat Berpuasa. May your Ramadhan be a meaningful one
Ternyata 1 tahun itu tidak terasa, perasaan Ramadhan di tahun 2022 saya telah menon konten Nick sekarang sudah Ramadhan 2023, luar biasa seperti sehari semalam saja,,

Welcome To Indonesia, RAMADHAN 2023 🇮🇩🇺🇸
The more you do fasting, the easier it will be. I started full day fasting when I was 7 years old... and I did it for the whole 30 days in the Ramadhan... as this is your second year trying fasting, I have no doubt you will find it easier than last year... your smile while break the fasting tells a lot, how satisfy you are. Great job, Nick! Take care and stay healthy!
Yeahhh, very nice to see you wanna join ramadhan and start puasa, puasa is very good for our body and mind, hope u get the kindness of this ramadhan nick, and see the beauty of islam
salam dari jambi, sumatera😊
i remember the first days were normally easy; it's day 14+ when it would get harder as the novelty wears off, but usually it would pick up again on day 20+ as the holiday season is approaching :D
yeahh i just did 3 days, i imagine doing it that long it starts to take its toll
For fasting, it's a good strategy to not overeat and overdrink anyway. Eat and drink just about enough (or maybe a bit above full). The essence of fasting is to skip a meal, so you eat 2 plates of rice a day instead of 3.
(besides if you drink too much at sahur you'll just pee most of them in 20 minutes anyway, leaving you dehydrated for the rest of the day... after a bloated sahur. Not a good feeling.)
For iftar, there's a saying here, "break your fast with something sweet". Good idea in general, which is why a lot of iftar stalls sell sweet snacks. Watermelon juice, ice coconut, dawet, etc. The authentic iftar experience is to break your fast with 2 date fruits and a glass of water, then about 15 to 30 minutes later you go eat dinner proper. But probably not a lot of people will do that in lieu of straight up just eat dinner at iftar.
Hope you can do a full month of fasting! That'll be interesting to watch.
WELCOME 🇮🇩
It's been 1 year I subscribed this channel since last year's Ramadan video😊
Mantap Nick🙏
Watching this in the middle of the day while fasting is really tough Nick, especially the last part where you did the Iftar 😅

Hi Nick. Nice to see you back home with Ibnu's Mama.
I got a few phrases I wanna share with you. You can say "wah banyak sekali ya" (wow there's a lot ya?). Instead of "sudah makan" you can alternatively say "terimakasih saya masih kenyang" (thank you I'm still full from my last meal).
I don't know how much will these be useful but yeah. Enjoy the trip wherever you're going.
Hi Nick! Proud of you for doing Puasa in my country. I wish I could spend this Ramadhan there with my family. Let us know if you are coming down to DC👌
Waaaahhh u so great can celebrate Ramadan in my country with lovely family....love ur videos 😍😍😍
idk why but i always like u and ibnu's vlog it so warm, and enjoy to watch, i'm sorry nick but i just suggesting you that is it okay for u to gave the ibnu's mom money just for this 1 month of ramadhan so, she can go to the market and buy any meat, inggridients and stuff for full of ramadhan month. just an opinion it's up to you. thankyou
Wellcome back to jember
Well done with the coffee! I used to drink 5 or 6 cups a day and now only have one for breakfast and that already makes a huge difference. Hubby doesn't drink any less coffee (and he's hooked on Ibnu's Luwak, haha).
Bravo Brother.Appreciate and May godbless. You already like Indonesian Muslim hope success and good luck 🇮🇩👍🙏
Good luck on your fasting, Nick!
