Maybe it's a combination of what you both said? Like, Maybe the black Luka is self-harming and the white Luka is her conscious telling her to keep living? She's dying and wants to die but her conscious (White Luka) is telling her to keep living. Or, maybe, the Luka could be a representation of someone as you thought. @Rambition Kurokku I think what it is is that the English language is very complex. There are many different ways of saying the same thing. I am English, and even I sometimes struggle with the grammar of my native language. This could possibly be a translation of Japanese to English, which isn't always accurate or may not always make much sense to those that do speak the language. I see it all the time in videos and comments on UA-cam. It's difficult to speak a language that you don't really fully comprehend and know as well as your own language. That's just what I think...

When you translate any language into English, yes, it does start to become complex. In many languages, a direct translation does not sound natural to our ears so then you have to go through the process of finding other words and other ways to phrase the sentence that sounds more natural. English is also a complex language because someone shoved the alphabet at us and said "good luck."
