Jesus didn't *directly* address gay marriage for the same reason he didn't *directly* address people marrying animals. There are certain truths which are understood by general society, and don't need to be specifically addressed.

@@dansaber5853 lots of things in the Bible are referred to as sin. But only a few are referred to as an abomination. Homosexuality is not only a sin, it is an abomination. Not my opinion, that’s what the scriptures say. Without the scriptures, we have no frame of reference for God and Jesus inextricably links himself to the Old Testament writings of Moses. there is no way to justify homosexuality as being acceptable to God more than having sex with animals. They are both an abomination.
Those who still are in denial, thinking God has let up on this issue, are only kidding themselves. Our biology has not changed. Choosing to go against it is quite selfish.

Absolutely. I’ve been using Matthew 19:4-9 to convince people that Jesus indirectly condemned *every* form of unnatural relationships outside of natural marriage when he answered the crowd’s question on divorce.

Any other relationship outside of this violates God’s design and will for our lives.
I have heard this man speak several times in person and his testimony is very powerful on his living in the gay lifestyle and how he became "born again" and returned to God. Everyone, including churches, listen to those living the gay lifestyle. But, you never hear or see them listening to an ex-gay who was transformed from that lifestyle. I pray and wish this man would be invited to speak at the upcoming United Methodist General Conference this summer. Not much chance of that I'm sure. Why? Because the truth would set them free and some love living in bondage.
True, a local church near me didn't want a converted gay man to share his testimony of how God set him free. Sad 🥲

United Methodist is demonic. We just had to create our own church with about half of the congregation of our old UMC church. They literally cared more about political correctness and LGBT propaganda than anything even remotely related to biblical Christianity. Now that we created our own church where we actually have control over what pastors we get, I noticed that the pastors actually seem to be on fire with the Holy Spirit rather than spiritually dead.

Also see Rev 9, where the lying scorpion leads the winter constellations of Sagittarius thru Pisces. These five make up the Jesus character (winter), who "dies" and becomes Christ (summer).

Yes. "Porneia" is used 26x in the New Testament -- hundreds of similar cross references in the OT -- including by Yahshua Himself. Furthermore, being a rabbi, direct lineage of Judah and heir of David -- He knew his Torah. Which is why Yahshua, when asked about divorce, refers back to Genesis 2 where a man will leave his home and cleave to a woman. And Yahshua's parables were always about a Bride and a Groom. Plus, he was speaking to an audience who knew their Torah. They all knew that anything -- ANYTHING -- outside of one man, one woman in the context of a covenantal matrimony was sin. Furthermore, Paul was appointed and anointed by Yahshua, and deals with porneia even more.

No. That would be myopic, extremely Westernized and Hyper-Graced theology, and completely lacking in any understanding of the physical realm versus the much grander, deeper, and more important spiritual. Biblically, the church is the Bride, Yahshua is the Groom. The physical, earthly relationship of a man and woman in marriage -- since Adam and Eve -- is and always been a type and shadow of the coming spiritual relationship between the Messiah and Believers. It's one reason why one of the first commandments given in Genesis was for a man to marry a woman. Anything practiced outside of that definition was immoral because it goes against what awaits one day. (If by chance you respond, I normally don't read comments. This was a one-off so I won't be replying. If you disagree, I recommend calling and speaking to, say, anyone at Moody Bible Institute. Smart people. And chatting with real people is better than comment sections. If you agree, great. The Biblical definition of Man/Woman/Marriage is very powerful in the overall scheme of things. Yes, but the problem is when evangelism is done with some LGBT+, they won't even listen to anything in Roman's. Saying things like they aren't a "Paulite." They discredit portions of the Bible. Jesus never specifically addressed homosexuality because he was preaching to Jewish audiences who knew it was biblically OBVIOUS that homosexuality was an abomination. Had he been preaching to Greco-Roman Gentiles (like Paul did) he would have mentioned it specifically (like Paul did).
Yeah. I don't understand this people. He didn't say anithing on zoofily and necrofily eather, but it is pretty obvious that those things are sin. Besides the fact that Paul, who spoke by the Holy Spirit, spoke clearly and firmly against homosexuality, and so does the law. To say that Jesus has never adressed this subject the person must not believe in his divinity, because if he's God, so he gave the law to Moses and spoke through Paul, both against the homosexuality.
The fact that God will never change, nor is laws or anything else is extremely comforting.
There are over 15,000 recorded instances of god changing his mind or going against previous values, he is one of the least consistent characters in all of fiction
Going back to the purpose and definition defined in the beginning and reiterated by Jesus is the most direct and (in my opinion) effective way to show the sinfulness of every sexually immoral act.
It’s doubly so because in both testaments from the 10 commandments (reading them as wedding vows) onward, the Father and Jesus respectively have a marriage covenant relationship with Israel and the church (Ephesians/Revelation). Trying to twist that by saying “well Jesus only said that once or twice,” then living according to our own will is beyond just saying “Jesus never said don’t steal more than once so I can steal”, it’s breaking a covenant vow. We’re throwing away the sacrifice Jesus made for us to live apart, in our own sin.
Churches that encourage that separation and even call it “not separation/not sin” act as permissive parents but they’re spoiling baby Christians all the way to a second death.
We should all be as David such that when our sins are revealed we immediately turn back to God in repentance. Pointing out rotten fruit is not judgmental, it is allowing the tree to get medicine in time before it has to be cut down to make way for trees that will bear good fruit.
This is why people are trying so hard to redefine "man" and "woman" and pronouns, to murky the waters, trying to undermine God's words.
God is not the author of confusion = Satan is the author of the bible.

That's like what 1 Corinthians 2:12 - 14 says.
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

I think this mainly applies to studying, and rightly dividing (2 Timothy 2:15-16), but it can also probably be applied to knowing that something is still sin, even if the Bible doesn't directly mention it.

Homosexuals have grudges against the opposite sex; they still want intimacy, so they choose the same sex. Forgiveness ends that exclusion. That's all the Scripture that is needed.

Using the same argument, this behavior was condemned in Leviticus 18 and 20 and Jesus never corrected or rejected that book. He referenced the Old Testament many times and never said that anything written before His birth into this world was wrong. It's a silly argument but if it's going to be used, it can be used both ways.

Yup! The “sexually immoral” (which means anyone having sex outside of a heterosexual marriage between one man and one woman) is a catch-all for every letter in the LTBG mafia even if they ignore the parts about gay this or that.
Romans 1:26-27 is also a very good verse that goes a little more in detail about this specific issue. Although, what Jesus says in Matthew and Mark nails the issue on the head, Paul just further expands on this.

Jesus specifically addressed the Jews during his earthly ministry. The reason he never would have had to bring up homosexuality, or beastiality or incest and things of that sort is because those things were universally considered sinful according to the culture. They did take the law of Moses quite seriously, after all.
The reason Paul did address it specifically is because he was talking to the Gentiles, among which those practices were commonplace.
For all the people who think Jesus had to specifically address an issue or it wasn't addressed properly, you need to realize that context is everything in the Bible. When something was addressed, there was a reason for it. If it wasn't addressed, there wasn't a reason to do so at that time and place. Paul's words are not opposed to those of Jesus. They are simply expanding on what Jesus already taught, to different people in different places at different times. What Paul taught was approved of by Peter and the other direct disciples of Christ, the men who spent essentially the entire ministry of Jesus learning directly from him. If they disagreed with what he taught as being against Jesus' teachings, then they would have corrected him or denounced him. As it was, he started as a Pharisee in training who persecuted followers of Jesus until Jesus appeared to him and caused him to repent and follow him.
There has to be a good reason why the bible says that homosexuality is a sin. But the fact that the bible does not explicitly state its reasons leaves other with an excuse to dismiss it as a prejudice from a patriarchy or tradition. Yet, all you have to do is ask your doctor if anal sex is a healthy practice. They will advise you that this can cause serious medical conditions. You can get a urinary tract infection or even a bladder infection that can kill you in a week if not treated. And this is true for both gay and straight alike.

I struggle with this quite a lot, I have a very good, loving and feminine friend, she's lesbian and had a lot of problems with denial of homossexuality, also her parents beat her up and verbally abused her because of her sexuality, they're catholic. In their minds and in a lot of christians eyes this is something you can simply STOP, and ask the Lord to surpress or kill the liking of her own gender and it's fine. But I see her struggle and she said she did do that and it never went away, it pains me a lot that a good person like herself has to suffer because of it.
Some will say she just have to accept it and never practice it, because we all feel "tempted", but she will never will be able to have kids, or to have a romantic life. To all you people out there, just imagine yourself in her situation. I am not saying she should do it, I just have a problems with it, imagine if one of your children or family was born gay, what you have them do.

The Holy Spirit can bring deliverance. As a married man, I am tempted with adultery every day. I'm tempted to steal every day. I'm tempted to be a jerk every day...I was addicted to pornography for decades and Jesus delivered me. I am tempted with it all the time, but it doesn't have the power over me it once did because of the living person of the Holy Spirit. The filling of the Holy Spirit brings the power of deliverance. Your friend, if they're born again, should be praying for the filling of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes God allows certain things to remain for a long time so that when He brings deliverance, we'll recognize it wasn't our will or efforts that brought it, but His grace. But at that point cooperation takes effect.

Jesus didn’t need to address the subject of homosexual marriage because it is already condemned in the Old Testament. It is also roundly condemned in the New Testament. On the day of judgement, people who have been engaged in this aweful sinful perversion and haven’t confessed and asked forgiveness for their sin will be headed straight to hell - for eternity.
