Targeting Speckled Trout around LEDGES and DEEPER water (MirroLure MR18 Heavy Dine MG)

- Join me as I take my buddy Chad deep into the back creeks of Eastern North Carolina targeting Speckled Trout and searching for potential Winter area to fish. I used Google Maps and zoomed in on different areas that look similar to what we fish in the Winter time here in Swansboro. As most of you know, you have to fish deeper water during the winter. With that in mind, we marked a lot of fish in the 6-8' foot range. These fish were stacked on a ledge just looking for a free meal to cross their path. We parked the boat in 2' of water and threw into the wind and let the current drift pull my MirroLure back towards me as it sunk fast. After about 6 seconds of drop, I then began my retrieval process.
I'm hoping as I build my notebook for the years to come, that my content and videos has helped some of you. I'm not an exceptional fisherman by any means, but I do my best as the average man/woman who loves to fish. Enjoy the video and as always, thank everyone of you who like, comment and subscribe to the channel. It means more than yall will know.
Tight Lines!!!
Chad is the net man every angler needs on boat come tournament day, NOTHING GETS AWAY
Haha you know the OG AB Boy too? Thats my buddy. Always a ton of laughs and crap talking all day.
Yes Sir I like it!... those are such relaxing days just slow twitching MLs in a creek waiting on that thump
It’s been wild how many good trout we’ve found in winter spots. I just hope we can avoid a long hard freeze. If we can do that it should be non stop all winter.
Nice video and you have to love when those bends produce on those ledges! Tight lines!
Absolutely. I’ve learned a lot this winter. Especially fishing low and slow with soft plastics. I’ve always been hard headed and won’t get off my MirroLure lol. But they slick/slick jr on a 1/16 or 1/8 jig head has made me learn a lot.
@@SlackTidesFishing They are great lures! And I have started using the Lil' slick in the troutcicle! The purple color! It is awesome!
Great video. They starting to come in for us up here in Jacksonville NC as well.
Awesome!! Man I have a feeling it’s gonna be a solid winter as long as we don’t get a hard freeze. They’re already in winter spots and not even schooled up yet.
Nice job fellas! Great day
Thank you! Me and my buddies have had a killer run here lately.
Looks like a good time, im still catching mine towards the mouths of the creeks. I think the early cold now late heat has them all over the place.
I figured they’d be some in potential winter spots but the depth finder showed they were pretty stacked and schooled
@@SlackTidesFishing good to hear, I've had the exact opposite experience this week, they've been scattered around everywhere
@@SlackTidesFishing Hey Slack, is that a Penn reel or something else? And what strength braid is it spooled with? 10lb?
Im hooked on the mirrolure bite now. Whats your top couple colors/style
MR18 in and 808 or an MR18 in Mardi Gras Broken Glass Chartreuse
great video tomorrow is cold and super windy my normal winter spot is in the back of Blounts creek, what do you think ?
Man idk. I’m gonna check the forecast tonight and go from there. If I don’t make it out tomorrow morning it’s def game on Thursday. I hope this weather sends them into a frenzy.
Where do you get your heavy dine?
Neuse Sports Shop in Cedar Point
Where are you located?
Swansboro NC
Looks to be North River
@@Johnny-yx1nm it’s not. I haven’t fished there since April. I need to get that way soon.
Copy that im in topsail area. I go alot south but wanting to explore more around new river. I was hopeing for less pressure.
Idk much about New River but from what I’ve seen it’s good late Sept to early Nov then it’s hit or miss.
