Great job with this video. You kept it simple. After 3 major hurricanes, I’m done with permanent installation. Simple, quickly deployable, and highly portable.
@JLSULev Thanks. I do mainly portable operations and like in an HOA, so this works great! Stay tuned for more ways to configure the CHA-SS25 coming soon...
Great job showcasing that amazing whip! And don’t forget it will work on 2m. 🤙🏻
@MrMudsHamRadioRadioTime Thanks, Mr. Mud. Ohh yes, don't forget 2m!
Thank you and great video. I have the Chameleon SS17 whip and like it. I’ll probably have to get this one sometime also. I keep mine in some 3/4 inch white pvc pipe to protect it. The pipe is cut just slightly longer than the whip to give it just a little extra room but not much to move around. And of course caps on each end. I’m guessing the SS25 would take 1 inch pipe but not sure. I got the idea from another UA-cam video. I think it was K8MRD Ham Radio Tube but can’t remember for sure.
@taz9075 I like the pipe holder idea! Thanks for watching!
Aeronautical mobile, freaking awesome! Nice demonstration on how to set this up with ease.
YES!! I never heard of Aeronautical mobile! This is great!!!
Thanks, Bob... I really appreciate all the time you've spent making your very detailed videos for us! Keep up the EPIC work 👍 👍 You've helped many hams get on the air!
Love Slide Mtn in the background.
@MrTommy001 You must be local for catching that! Thanks for watching 😃
Bro you have to create a course to teach us Everything about radio and how to set it up. I would pay to promote it
Stay tuned for more coming soon!
Looking forward to that!!!
Thanks for the vid, Bobby! I'm looking forward to a SOTA review with your new whip.
Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up the 25 footer at the SNARS event the other day.
POTA/SOTA on!👍.

Don't worry - we've 2000 units under production!
@don3394 I appreciate it, Don! I'm looking forward to getting it up higher with a better take-off angle. You should of jumped on it before they sold out. More coming soon... 73
@@W6IWN_Radio This is Carl! LOL
@@W6IWN_Radio We might have 15 to 20 more at the shop! Erynne will be updating the inventory tomorrow morning!
@@Chameleon_Antenna 👋
Those tripods are rock solid. I use about the same set up. 17ft whip on the beach with that tripod in 25 mph plus winds and it never tipped over and the tripod is pretty lightweight also. Great content! 73's
@@KO4GAR Thanks 😊
I can't wait to take it to the Coast someday. I've never done HF there yet. I hear it's really good. Thanks for watching
Very nice!
@@Chameleon_Antenna Thanks for building great antennas 👍 👍
Aeronautical mobile! so cool
Fantastic. Even works on 40m
Cool video Bobby! I can't wait to try mine out!
@BulletBarDave Thanks, Dave. There's a lot of other configurations I'm looking forward to experimenting with. Have fun with it!
Thanks for the video. It wasn’t clear to me, but were you using the tuner on each band or were you adjusting the whip length to change bands?
For the sweeps I was using, it fully extended with the Hybrid Micro and a counterpoise cut for each band. I tossed the longer wires in the lake.
During operation, I did shorten 2 lengths on 17m to make my amp happy. Thanks for watching. 73
@@W6IWN_Radio Just to follow on with this great question - was the tuner in the system the whole time and was it tuned up for the antenna on each band ahead of time? Amazing results! Thanks, N7RLV

There is no antenna on this planet that exhibits the SWR sweeps you show. Go back and check your set-up.
This was my experience recorded on video. I was using many different counterpoise wires cut for each band (some tossed in the lake) with a 5:1 UnUn. I was quite surprised myself! The tripod is also a counterpoise... Each environment and setup are going to be different.
