I know a vocal effect invented by The Beatles. It involves duplicating the vocal track, delaying one by a few milliseconds then pan individually to the left and right. It has a resonating effect of some sort.
That's... just basic chorus effect but with a pitching rate of 0. A plugin in FL Studio called "Stereo Enhancer" does just that, and you can control how much you pan it/delay it. It doesn't have a resonating effect, it just makes it sound wide and stereo.
Hey, man! Thanks for the video! Ever heard of the game Bastion? Would you know to make the voice like the game's narrator? After hearing the actor's (Logan Cunningham) voice on a normal interview, I realized they used some effects to alter his speech.
I checked it out, I don't see him using a huge amount of effects. I assume he's using the general effects you use to make a track sound cleaner, as well as possibly deepening the pitch. A lot of what makes a voice sound a certain way is the actor.
+51TD0wN can you post a tutorial how to do the voice of clyde from the series arby n the chief? I see that you follow halo maybe you can do it cuz i search it everywhere but i can't find it
+51TD0wN How do you become a voice actor? I can do alot of voices to perfection like the joker from batman, dexter, different black guys (and some women) movie announcer, and alot of different accents.. actually i'm just really good at copying special character's voices so do you make money of it or is just for fun?
I appreciate all of the support this video has received, and I will be posting more tutorials to answer your questions. I know I said September before, but the course I took was much more intense than I'd predicted. I'll probably be able to make some videos over the Christmas holidays this year. Happy holidays everyone!
51TD0wN Nice video 51TD0wN! I was actually searching for a robotic voice tut and then I find this video in which you even told us the Red vs Blue voice radio effects! Really cool you showed that, thanks!
Hahaha!! If I say I'm the one from whom you got the Robot effect, I'll be lying... Yes, I don't know why I wrote the previous line. But thanx for help, great video
Awesome thanks for the quick tutorial! Audacity was recommended to me by a friend. Haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm creating some missions in a flight sim and am wanting some good, heavy, radio modulation and I think you went over enough of it that I can get what I'm wanting.
I have really enjoyed in your videos, they are very precise, descriptive and of good quality. I have started with using audacity few days ago and I find your videos really useful. If you got some time or good will in future you should really continue with making of similar videos concerning basic audacity usage, because with this one you have done really great job. Kind reagards
Ah, thank you for this. I'm customizing a Star Wars droid from the droids you buy at Galaxy's Edge. I want to give him a voice for a custom personality chip.
Thanks :) Unfortunately the best way to produce a whisper is to actually whisper. Whispers have an entirely different sound to them, and there is currently no effect to emulate that. Is there a particular sound clip you wanted to sound like a whisper?
Dude, right on. Thx for taking the time. To some, it may not seem like much, but the simple tips/tricks are usually the best. That was great, thx again.
there is a channel name "Riddle" his voice is superb. do you have any video or tutorial for that type of effect .if yes then please provide me. thanks and best regards...
Omg it sounds like Xmen: Apolypse saying "Always the same, and now all this. No more stones. No more spears. No more slings. No more swords. No more weapons! No more systems! No more superpowers. . . ." haha
Any idea what exactly Star Wars did in Revenge of The Sith movie for the clone troopers helmet? For example "theres been a rebellion sir, dont worry the situation is under control" or "the droids have started up their main power generators". Someone as smart as you might be able to figure it out just by listening to them speak (the clone troopers)
I'm editing voices in a video. I'd like to analyze the parameters of each person's voice and then apply a filter so that it appears to swap voices (by giving adjusting one persons voice to the other person's parameters). Is this even possible?
Could you do a Star Wars voices tutorial with Audacity please. Like the simple "roger roger" of a droid or even the Sidious laugh if possible. These tips help out a lot.
We all need to just 'Sit Down' and watch you work! Amazing Talent 4 sure. KEEP sharing your tricks and talent with us all --It's great learning from you, I used audacity for over 9 years now---Had no idea re: pitch or the Red and Blue EQ .
Could you help me? I have an older project that I spent a lot of time tuning, but I didn't make any notes of what effects I used to create it. I really liked how it turned out, but I can't remember how I could recreate it. Is there a way to see what effects you made to a project that you saved a long time ago?
Super sick! I'm trying to make a voice over of the lego movie and this is a great place to start. If you have any tips to make a voice sound more like the "Everything is Awesome" song I'd love to hear it, too!
You can do this with any mic you want. The sound quality won't change after you add this effect. Obviously the better mics will sound better. For this video I used a Logitech H390 headset which actually has a relatively low quality mic. Lately I've been using the Audio Technica AT2020, and it does sound better, but I wouldn't say it sounds that bad with my headset. Some of the most popular mics for gamers are the blue yeti, and the blue snowball. So if you're interested in getting a good mic those are also good choices.
How do you do this with a video you have made. Say you make a video and u wish to change your voice.... Can you upload the audio/voice to audacity and change it?
So with the RVB effect, it sounds like my mic is underwater and I'm talking through one of those ancient diving suits. I did exactly what the equalisation graph reads and I did the noise reduction too. Any form of solution?
Is it possible to make something like a crowd at a party, festival, … that is shouting heeeey, hoooooo, heeeey, … (like for example the song "when i snap my fingers - the happy groover" at the end)
Ok. 1. There is no Noise Removal on my Audacity. Instead, it says voice reduction. I have the most annoying fan in my computer so when the Microphone picks it up even after Maxing it out it audacity it still comes out. And if I do that, then part of myself is also cut out. 2. How can I do a low battery sound effect in Audacity (If you've played Portal 2 and heard the jazz music, you probably know what i'm talking about).
in your sound track, highlight a part that is just your background and no voice. go to effects and click noise removal then click get noise profile click ok. then highlight the whole track and go back to noise removal and just click ok
I wish I could help you, but I've never sung before, and if I did I'd assume it'd be horrible xD. So simply because I have no experience singing, I can't help you. But I am going to be posting some more effects that people have asked about in the comments. There are a few effects I have in mind that could be useful.
awesome video, can you make one showing how to make your voice sound like its in a stadium? like an announcer! I new to this stuff and trying to make my youtube videos better.
Even years later, this tutorial has served me (and I bet many other people) pretty damn well. Great job.
Thanks man. I never expected this to get so many views, and I'm always glad to hear that it's helped so many people.
The best way to remove background noise is to cover your mic with 2-3 socks.
I've done that before, it's a good method.
Seriously ? Or its a joke ?
+FifaMacho nl het is echtwaar hoor XD
Actually, it's not a joke, it works as a crappy pop filter xD
+Dan Verber "Dude, why does your microphone smell?!" ;)

I'll look into it.
Alright thanks man
I can't believe this video reached 1000 likes, thank you everyone :)

I think this is the vocal effect that I've been looking for. Lot of hip hop songs always have this background vocal.

Thanks, I'm glad to help :)
:) you're welcome
How to make it sound like the concert hall effect??
Awesome, this has helped a lot opening my world to audio editing!
Glad to hear it :)
that robot sound effect is so cool
To make a deep electrical voice, you just overdub your voice but you do different pitches of voices then you deepen the vocals.
I just DL'd audacity but the effects are grayed out, any idea how to make them show? Lemme guess, I got pay for it? Thought it was free
Your Voice Recording Is AMAZING !!
yo every tutorial has an equalization effect but mine isnt even an option. how do i find it??
go to effect there is the option
It's under "filter curve" in the new audacity. Just learned that myself
I have two questions: can you put in a video to look at the sound?? And: how do you put audio onto a video??
Omg it sounds like Xmen: Apolypse saying "Always the same, and now all this. No more stones. No more spears. No more slings. No more swords. No more weapons! No more systems! No more superpowers. . . ." haha
Hi! If you are still running this I would love to know how to do Wargammer 40K thousand sons Sorcerer voice in audacity

Can you teach me how to make a Dragon Roar like Smaug from the Hobbit?
Which version of Audacity are you using as I dont have equilization like the one you have ..I have graphic EQ and using AC 2.3.3
Nice and straight to the point. If you need voice actors for an upcoming project; I wouldn't mind lending a hand.
Thank you bro, I use Audacity so much I found myself trying click/edit on your demonstration! HAHA!
That radio effect is also the phone effect that I prefer hearing. :3 Now I can put scary voices on the phone. XD
Your video is awesome! I subscribed! :)
Can you use these effects live for streaming or do they all have to be prerecorded?

how would you make an effect that makes your voice sound like it's underwater?
Is it possible to do a video game announcer like tutorial on Audacity?
Yes, I'll be doing one next month hopefully.
I did a test recording, to try the radio voice. When I go to Equalization it's just a straight line, no high or low points. What do I do?
finally! I can find "ultron" voice FX
Can you activate an effect while the audio is playing?
How simple, yet so cool. You can use this for a phone call effect too since it sounds pretty close.
Nice tutorial Spartan!!!!! ;)

Windows Electronic101 Try lowering your recording volume
I have a question. How do I remove voices on the background of my file, so only the main voice can be heard? Please answer me.
in your sound track, highlight a part that is just your background and no voice. go to effects and click noise removal then click get noise profile click ok. then highlight the whole track and go back to noise removal and just click ok
That works pretty well, but it's better to avoid recording background voices.
the radio effect was nice, although I don't have use for it now, maybe at some point.
