I just had a local custom stereo shop replace the head unit with a kenwood. My 84 Biarritz has no door speakers, just 3.5 in the dash and 4 x 10 in the rear deck. So they replaced the dash speakers with some coaxial 3.5 and the rear with coaxial 5.25 focal speakers and all new wiring with a subwoofer in the trunk and a 5 channel amp to power everything.
Ok so the Biarritz only has speakers in the dash and rare window panel?.... My 81 Eldorado base model i swear i thought had speakers in the door.... So pretty much a person wont know what size speakers are really in there till you open her up? And i just bought all these new speakers from sonic electronics and Crutchfield smh
@@redciroc1211 some of em have door speakers, I've had a few of these 10th generation Eldorado's. The dash speakers are 4" the rear panel speakers are 4 x 10". 6 x 9's won't fit, even with the adapters .
I have my dads 83 Eldorado with the Bose stereo. It's shot. Only one speaker plays anymore, and it comes and goes. Its my opinion that the radio in the dash is probably ok, and that its the SPEAKERS that have failed, does that sound right to you? Thx.
Wow...you've given us a lot a gems!! Thank you!!! However I have a problem with my fuse box. The number 5 and 10 isn't getting any power, therefore my instrument panel ligh6t aren't coming on..any suggestion? I've got an 81 Thank you again
Great video.... I'm looking for a replacement dash top pad for my '80 Biarritz …. Navy blue.... it cracked from the defrost vent openings.... common. any suggestions? Anyone recreate dash pads for these gems??
Do you have any knowledge of aftermarket stereos going in these eldorados? I have my aftermarket radio wired and spliced to my own stereo wire harness and i'm still getting no sound . wondering if you have any advice brotha
Hey there, sorry to hear you're having problems with the stereo install. I didn't have any no sound problems when I installed my stereo. Have you confirmed the speakers are getting a signal? I would start there and work my way back to the head unit.
Not counting all of the filming needed for the video, it only took me the better part of a Saturday morning. The longest part of the project was modifying the Bose enclosures to accept the new speakers. Everything else was a straightforward swap out.
I’m still searching for the complete Bose wiring, front speakers, head unit and rear speakers from a 1983-1985 Cadillac Seville or Eldorado. Can anyone please help me
@@smokedoutog6398 from what I recall it’s a somewhat difficult job as you have to remove the inner fender. If you don’t have one, I recommend getting a Cadillac service manual as the procedure is detailed in there
You did a great job !!! That help me out tons !! I have the same exact car and color . It’s like you were working on my car .
The Newport looks great in your dash! Awesome video!
