Dude, people like you are a rare and awesome species, I wish more people thought like you
crazy to see his setup then and now
Your my hero! Deadmu5 u have inspired me to make music and I am now doing this for money thank you for making the music and being awesome!
Hey DerpLordPlays I know it passed 2years on that comment! I'm Trobleme, house progressive/technominimal producer, hope you show me the right corner on how to get paied from ur music!
Wish you the best body, we all love dead mow cinco deadmau5 is a LEGEND! each track of him get in your deep feelings and make u feel good! DEADMAU5 is power ;)
I saw this live yesterday and I wanted to listen to this song again. Thanks for the upload man!
If you listen to the finished version, he switched around the high synth and the low synth. The low synth is slow, and the high synth is a little different sounding and faster as opposed to this version.
I can watch these videos all-day.
Bruh i see you everywhere i go lol
Where and where have you been :-))
ikr me too
thanks for posting these production vids, it's awesome seeing someone do music like I do night after night :) good shit man! thanks for the inspiration!
great track, would love to hear it live!
For the people asking what DAW he uses, he hardly uses FL any more (if at all).
He mostly uses Ableton Live 9 Suite, and Cubase (mostly for mixdown)
He uses abacus 2000
Cubase in this video.
Did anyone else notice the hole in the floor in the background?
It leads to China by free-falling.
Holy shit man, I just scrolled down to see if someone seen that too. I wonder wtf is that. At first, i tought it was a cable falling from the table, but it didn't move so it's not cable. So then what the heck is that
He accidentally pick axed the floor with his diamond one equipped.
He keeps midgets who plug his cables upon request down in the hole
The room is floating for sound. A room built inside a larger room.
Thank you :) I too came from playing drums for 10-11 years and since living in an apartment all I could do is produce. And i Love it!
2023 still remember this. School days deadmau5 legend
why is anyone concerned what DAW he is using? Buying a DAW wont buy you any talent. He could be using a 4 track porta studio for all it matters...
True
I heard he designed and created his own DAW
Joseph Hovsepian FL Studio.
yeah his music is pretty basic and simplistic (boring) he may use that portastudio
I'm Zxios He only uses FL Studio for the first stage of writing the musical ideas and such, the rest is all Ableton
I remember when he was making Fn Pig in one of his streams.
Oh, and I heard him making a Rap song that had the chords (I think) to Get in the Cart, Pig.
I would have liked to have seen earlier in the production where he started creating or selecting the beats, melodies, and bass lines, etc, but it's still interesting to see/hear his process.
Love this live stream, doing work!
my respect s for this man I admire him more then a presiden or a smart Harvard punk ,why be cuz his art trespass thru your body and make you feel wonderful so gracias saludos de baja c.viva mexico pinchis☺🇮🇹🐒🐣
ok
I've been playing drums for 4 years and making electronic music for 2 years and I can tell you from experience that it doesn't just take pointing and clicking to produce great music like deadmau5 does it takes a more in depth understanding of the music and it also takes a different skill set entirely.
Musicians like you make me proud.
thanks so much!!
Compression and side chain have to do with the sound while building a track. Hes saying dont run all your sounds through one side chain or compression.
and don't ruin the whole process by putting a brickwall limiter on the end. (:
There's nothing wrong with using a limiter as long as it's barely doing anything. otherwise it will be squashing things hard and causing distortion.
NOT A GOOD IDEA TO RUN THEM ALL INTO ONE CHANNEL..
You can't even see his computer screen. >_>
Well, it's not like I actually needed to see the screen, but you know, I thought this was going to be like a livestream or something, so... yeah. Either way, producing dance music is mainly synthesis experimentation, transient shaping, and drum sequencing. If you can do that, you're well on your way.
***** There have been a couple of streams in which he has shared his screen with us, its just a case of looking for them, if that's what you want, of course
Nah, I was just saying how I thought it could have been odd that we're just looking at his face and the back of his computer screen the whole time.
Check out Savant's video on future music. You'll learn a lot more from that. ;D
I already saw it, lol.
Thanks for the info! helped a lot!
the most amazing song ever preformed live at Ultra
Is there a website I can go to to see his current live streams? I actually want to see him live
live.deadmau5.com
HE HAS TO START STREAMING WHAT HES DOING ON HIS SCREEEENNN!!!!!
Dude, he's a guy 👀
Remember watching this live, aah good times :)
I hear him talk about his music and i notice its almost like a science, its amazing.
Great advice in teh beinging
basic stuff
Yet i still understand, none of it
I just learned how to sidechain and I don't know how to sidechain a snare to the same lead. I used in the kick.. Using fl 11
The Official Kromatix why would you sidechain snares? Thats just gonna take away the attack of the snare. You should things such as your bass so the kick doesnt ruin it.
That beginning lol... bashing newbs away from the board. I had lulz
True that. But with 20+ years experience that's a perc that comes with the game.
I admire anyone who tries to be unique, Joel here is a prime example. I'll listen to anything he makes. Thanx for the beats, I look forward to whatever you produce next.
i love the kick man
I removed the weights from my washing machine and it sounds almost the same. I need a sidechain to stop it moving into the hall.
I love Afrojack buy I have to admit that his music is pretty simple compared to deadmau5's
dope, he is in the zone. NICE GROOVE.
thanks man!
22:31 to all wondering what kind of DAW is he using rite now.
He's not using Ableton, that's the point of the comment, he wants to be in Ableton, he's using Cubase here
***** i though he always used ableton?
Nah, he started off on Cubase, he's used FL studio before, Nuendo before, he uses Bitwig and Live now
***** I think he toyed around with bitwig since it was fresh meat, but i think he's stick to Live anyway
15:20 He sort of says that he is using cubase
40 минут болтания головой перед монитором. Он бы еще свой сценический мышиный шлем одел, чтобы мы гадали "кто это и что он делает"
you deserve an oscar!! that's the way!! open your bloody minds guys!!
NICE WORK !!!!!!
sadly i have no idea what he's saying hahahaha
That's okay...it's the music that really matters
Anyone know what program he uses? It was probably made by god.
Apparently he normally uses ableton.
Cubase
ableton or fl studio
Ableton Live 9 Suite
he uses various DAWs's.. all of the above
This version sounds pretty awesome 🤩
Thank you for sharing *
Those are "some chords" there just be lucky that "my pet coelacanth" cant get in those like he did to my fax machine when i was "faxing Berlin" but then after some "ghosts n stuff" and "moar ghosts n stuff" i realized that i was on "channel 42" and said "hi friend" to all my friends.
Nailed it :D
"sometimes things get complicated"
deadmau5 really needs to have his fans recommend track names to him.
LMFAO !!!! HE DECODED THE SECRET MSG DEADMAU5 HAS BEEN TRYING TO TELL US . !!
@@Girl5witGunz LOL
hmmm, so you do not see what hes doing? all this is some dude sitting bopping his head? lol put the cam on the screen...
"It would be too easy to just copy synth patches, drum samples, midi information, etc. therefore making it easy for everyone to become the next deadmau5. There's a reason everyone aren't world class producers. From what I understand, secrecy is a big part of producing dance music unfortunately.." - *****, 2014.
+( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) not quite mate. You can see the screen on twitch
I wish someone would compile all of deadmau5's ustream production tips and put them all together in one epic video.
deadmau5 is awesome no matter what he makes
haters gonna hate
I want more mau5 tech tips like he does here!
Nice to see how the pro's set up their songs.
Thank you! It's not about the DAW, it's about the plug-ins and the person using them.
I love to see a master at work.
yeah actually my older brother is a trance dj/producer and i am a guitarist (djent/progressive metal) and i watch him make music man it's really takes time to come up with good electronic music
god thats good stuff
his taste is amazing
Genius at work!
That bass line is just in triplets, that and the single lead note in triplets against the kick gives it the swinging feel.
Thanks :)
It's just his personality, he is the most laid back producer I know
Nicest studio ever seen
For a producer
this has been my homepage since the vid was put up...
A true inspiration!
I love the sub bass sidechained like in the "Paco di Bango" Remix! that is soo good! woomboom woomboom wooomboom woooooooom Crazy shit!
Thanks so true.... didn't think bout it that way
One of the best if not ny oersonal favorite it hist is near perfection
Music is my life.
Fuck.... I didn't know he streamed today!! I didn't even know his studio was done being built!! Thanks for uploading dude :D
OMG I just can't wait to hear your first track! When's it coming out?
lmao racking your whole set to 1 return rack sidechain reminds me of the days i used to stack 10 kicks right on top of eachother and thought it sounded sick
this guy is a genius true
good on you, well said
Epic !!
Joel man you always inspire me to make electric music...where are you?
i was a drummer, and i also taught myself guitar and learnt piano, and now getting into producing... producing is by far the hardest...
YAY HE MADE THE FIRST SONG IN ALBUM TITLE GOES HERE
Badass Deadmau5!
Really?did not know that! thanks for the information man :)
da talented deadmau5
he was so much better back in the day :c
No problem man :)
I've played guitar for 9 years and drums for 7, and i've started making electronic music. It's soo hard to make sound good and clean, and high quality. And the program takes forever to learn.
Wish he would live stream his screen sometime, that would be sick!
Deadmau5 - Superliminal , you can find it on his soundcloud
HE DANCES LIKE A MAD MAN
proper organization of stuff rocks. +1
I was giving some thought recently as to who I would want to mentor me if i had my choice on my road to mastering the art of composition and production. And Deadmau5 would be one of my top picks. More production tips, i love this :D
I already learned something in the first minute
I'm a guitarist (looking at going into music production) and although it's easier to make something you could call music like this, I've found that creating good (good being the important word here) electronic music takes an incredible amount of technical know-how, not to mention a great deal of creativity as well.
You are a perfect human!Even you like guitar and normal instruments didnt makes you hate electronic music!thx for restoring faith in humanity.
Thanks man, it just bothers me when people dis on someone who is more talented then they are.
Man's so addicted to the work^^) probably lots of producers look the same way at that moment))
and where's Mr. Meowingtons?))
so much electronic producers where musicians for years, i think they switch genres because u can be succesfull by yourself u don't need a band and u can exactly do the sound u want. other examples for this type of producers are skrillex, flux pavilion and zedd for shure
I need to know what Setup he has these sound coming from because it sounds rad
This shit just trips me out. Good lord.
Fun job to have
side chain can be utilized for rhythm, and a ton more than ducking audio, that's exactly why subliminal sounds the way it does..
the dude is a fking legend, heavy base
I like Deadmau5
Oh.. yeah, melodies create themselves
You must get a DAW (digital audio workstation) to get started. The two best DAWs are Ableton Live and FL Studio. Download one of them and start experimenting with them!
