- Over the halloween weekend, I challenged my friend to see which one of us could create the best horror comic! You can read my story here: stimuluscomic.c...
In order to get over my writer's block, I created this comic without second guessing anything that went into it. Usually, I can't get a lot of work done because I get hung up trying to create something great... And aiming for perfection is always crippling for me. But, Prolificacy is the goal here because producing art is always a learning experience, and I want to learn as much as possible. With that in mind, I want to try quantity over quality. This project is the result of that attitude.
The story itself is similar to an Edgar Allen Poe short story. It's extremely straightforward. The plot points are similar to Taxi Driver, in that the main character is a negative person who sinks deeper into a negative mental state until he snaps. It's a dark horror story, sure, but I think it's also hilarious. Let me know what you think.

yeah that link dont work breh
your website dont even work for that matter
Keep going. Quantity of videos will get you where you want to be here. Your content is top quality to us, very original.
thanks dude I appreciate that. I haven't been uploading regularly but I'm working on some stuff right now that I'm super excited about
STIMULUS Awesome! Don’t let perfectionism stop you from posting. I think we’re interested in your “normal” life. You have a natural sense of “I don’t give a shit” and that’s why people like your content. Keep it up :)
Maybe you should consider starting with a few tutorials or speed drawing videos. I ve noticed you channel hasn't been getting much traction. Have u researched on that topic; what do other art channels do; it doesn't mean u have to give up on what ur interested in.
U have great art style and the voice over is a great match.
Edit: Great comic
Thanks A.P. I've got some ideas on how to get some more traffic, but I'm OK with a small audience in the meantime. It's enough to keep me motivated.
Hi! Thanks for the vid! I have been in an artistic block for abour one year and a couple of months, caused by previous rejection of my drawings, poor self-esteem and performance anxiety. I found your advice (the quantity vs quality story) great, and i would love a vid about artist's block if you ever want to do that? I guessed you have stuff to say on this topic ^-^ thanks again!
Yes! I plan on doing a video about that at the end of the year because I have those issues too. For now, please read "Art and Fear," it was recommended to me by one of my viewers and it is a perfect articulation of the challenges you mention.
On a personal note -- one of the luxuries I have is that I don't aim to be a professional artist, I only do art as a hobby (I'm a designer by trade) so I have less stress when it comes to my work, but I still struggle to stay motivated
@@STIMULUSVIDEO Thank you so much for your kind answer!
This is the October challenge I did instead of the 24 hour comic or Inktober. Basically did one quick draft and then took a couple weeks to redraw it on my reMarkable tablet.
...most of it was inked while waiting for Mexican food at the local taqueria.
Very creative challenge !
Comic was an interesting read, not much of a comics guy but enjoyed it. Nice work
Some say even 3 years later Gerald still hasn't finished his comic
I know that I'm a fan of yours, and this will sound strange, but you should start a new channel, the algorithms of UA-cam clearly do not notice you. I have watched all your videos, and the potential of the content is comparable to an iceberg, 20% of which we see on the surface and 80% of which is hidden from us. I want you to know that you are universally underestimated! I hope you will read this message and if you do not start a new channel, you will know that the great work that you have put into your videos has not gone unnoticed!!!
When it comes to horror genre I'm still a fresh one. I've been trying mystery genres but non are really scary like the 8th chapter of the 3rd self made comic I've been uploading which has a reference from Richard Gere's The Mothman Prophecies.
Hi if possible can I pUT an audio version of your comic on my podcast ghostman Radio ty
Sure why not. As long as I'm stated as the author
@@STIMULUSVIDEO yes I sure will ty for letting me do this
@@Ghostmanradiostaion I'll check it out when you post it. Curious to see how this weird comic will translate into audio lol
