If the SLP had been a huge success Kasabian would've been over anyway but it wasn't and Tom gave him the opportunity to be the frontman on a plate, I love Kasabian with Tom and without Tom, I still believe serge screwed Tom over when he needed his friends.
Definitely, Serge was just waiting on Tom to screw up. Like you said he handed it to him on a plate. The SLP was while they couldn't talk about what happened, so it was practice for him. I was worried about their hydro gig and they blew us away as usual. Rob Harvey helps a lot with backing vocals too. Been seeing them live for 20 years now and never seen a bad show.

I've got tickets for Tom Meighan. It's not the same without him. His gigs have been postponed, but I'll still be going. He made a mistake, his wife is behind him. Get him back cause Kasabian will dissappear otherwise.
@@seanjones180 Just my observation. Even if he never outright said it, it always seemed to me that Noel wanted to be frontman because he thought Liam was incompetent at fronting Oasis and he believed that he was going to be better at it. He did take control of most things behind the scenes but I think he always wanted to be more than just "oasis' lead guitarist" or "liam's brother". And with Liam's volatile nature and drinking habits, and the Gallaghers' rocky relationship, a lot of people at some point speculated that Liam was going to fuck up so bad he was going to get kicked out of Oasis and Noel will take the lead. It never came to pass, and it was Noel in fact who left the band voluntarily. The situation with Kasabian reminds me so much of this: disgraced frontman gets kicked out of band while lead guitarist who was also sort of leading the band alongside him becomes in charge.
