Sergio always fancied himself as frontman, and he seemed to want total control......they were very quick to get rid of Tom, when, in my opinion, they should have helped/supported him given the fact it that both him and his now wife behaved as bad as each other, it wasn't a clear cut case of just Tom being the only one out of order. Tom was a great frontman with a great voice that made Kasabian who they were..... Sergio doesn't have the vocals, and while he was great on stage with Tom, he doesn't have his presence. They really are just a different band now who aren't very appealing to either the ears or the eyes.
If you listen Tom Meighan's solo album The Reckoning and his singles Movin' On, Let It Ride, Icarus, Put your foot Down, you will realize that the heart of Kasabian is and always was Tom no Serge.
Untill algorithms i had never listened to kasabian, it led me to all their other stuff and to Toms solo stuff so as a newbie i like the old stuff and the new stuff and Toms solo stuff is excellent, i have to say that i would have thought his band mates would have stuck by him and i am glad he and his fiancee tied the knot and i wish them a long and happy marriage.
If they created a new band and brought these new songs out I’d be all for it but because they still kept the name Kasabian I feel like it’s tarnishing everything that came before it a little bit
I’m glad Noel G is giving him a 2nd chance - he deserves it. Will have been difficult for him due to cancel culture so I’m glad he’s back at it good on him!

His voice doesn't have the conviction reqired for a band like this. Maybe Boyzone or Westlife. Writer, musician yes, but no lead vocalist either on a record or live. You can't fool punters with what's real. Kasabian without Tom suck like a port side whore.
For me as well Serg hasn't got the range, they just dont sound the same. If i had to choose from who to listen to Kasabian now or Toms solo stuff imo Tom wins hands down. He's surrounded himself with a fanatastic band and his and Bnann's song writing has really impressed me. Everyone's Addicted to Something is an absolute banger.

Sergio‘s vocals are not up to par. And he is seriously lacking the attitude to front Kasabian. Not saying he couldn‘t be a great frontman, but he‘s not doing Kasabian justice. What made it amazing were the fans not the band‘s performance in my opinion. 🫣
They definitely feel like a different band. I don’t mind some of the Sergio fronted tracks but the West Ryder period for me is my preferred Kasabian. There are other great Tom fronted tracks pre and post that album too but nothing with the same collective punch.
Tom meighan was kasabian, whilst I respect serge and his tunes it was Tom that brought them alive, an amazing front man and their must be more to it than what happened with Tom and now wife, saw Tom supporting Noel at Leeds and he was amazing what a rockstar , just think they underrated what he brought to the band if I’m honest, I don’t listen to kasabian anymore other than the Tom years
Without Tom its just The SLP with the other guys, he should just rebrand the band that way. Serge's solo album was decent but Alchemist was so disappointing. Will try to check Tom's new stuff later as it seems it's pretty good. Tbh I had a really hard time coming back to any past Kasabian record recently after all that drama that came from the breakup.

For me, it boils down to whether would you rather have this Kasabian or no Kasabian at all and it's certainly the former for me. You've nailed the algorithms analysis, cheesy poppy sing-along that will sound great chanted this summer and I like it, but I don't think the electronic sound is anything really out of the ordinary given some of the songs from 48:13 and FCOL for example. When I first heard algorithms I thought the exact same about Tom sounding better, I've seen them twice live without Tom and his presence is obviously a miss in that Liam Gallagher-esque role but Serge deserves massive credit for making up for it in his own way - as does Harvey stepping up and Carter, Matthews and Edwards who are always brilliant. The 'yer da' comments about the new music not being ' Kasabian' I feel are from the same people who complained about the last few albums and haven't really listened since the self-titled and Empire days which was when Karloff was involved anyway. I'm just glad they're making music and performing as they'll always be one of the best about, great video Sanjay enjoyed it marra.

True, it doesn’t look like he’ll reconcile with the band after they effectively kicked him out. James Hargreaves (great channel) has a video where he interviews Tom, and he says in no uncertain terms that Serge had been planning to remove him for a while. Worth checking out if you haven’t already.

I just feel like he's sold out the heart of kasbaian. Atleast call the band something else and leave kasabian preserved and respected

Because once i heard Tom had parted i knew that I'd never purchase another Kasabian song/album for as long as i live. Tom's solo material is 👌 while i just don't like Kasabians new material 👎👎👎
I think it was mainly because the name ‘Kasabian’ is such a big brand and is guaranteed to sell out shows / allow the band to still ride on the successes of their older material. Tom’s solo stuff > Kasabian new album!

Tom is by far the heart and soul. The back stabbers are nowhere near old Kasabian standards…. Loving Tom’s solo career
People comment that they’ve still got it without Tom. The Band are still tight but Serge is not Tom! It’s not Kasabian.

Tha band has an incredibly energy without Tom. Sergio as a frontman is much better than Tom in my opinion and i prefer them now as live band.
