I love your reaction video to unboxing the SSD for Armada for the first time! It is my favorite Crabbok video, because my reaction was the same! Its very rare and special to experience something as an adult that makes you feel like you are 12 again. Unboxing SSD with my son was one of those moments for me.
I've been waiting since 2.0's launch for these things. Now that I've finally got some, I have to say, I was not disappointed. I played a casual game with my dad as my first game using two of these, and got multiple examples of how crazy their maneuvers can be. I once got Soontir Fel caught between the firing arcs of an X-wing and B--wing, surrounded by asteroids that were probably too tight to actually be legal. I was able to use two boosts to dodge out of the way, going between two asteroids, and moved from almost certain doom to complete safety with just his actions. That same game I was able to roll Turr Phennir behind some asteroids to protect him from the nearby Millennium Falcon. Problem was there was no way to avoid crashing into them the next turn with a normal maneuver. So once he got shot at, getting out unscathed thanks to the obstruction, I used his ability to fire back and then roll right back out and fly away freely. These things are a breath of fresh air after over a year of nothing but regular TIE's and a couple TIE Advanced. I guess, for the giveaway's sake, you could say that at the moment I love the TIE Interceptor.
I'm looking to run a list this weekend with 3 Ints and a Lambda. I'm giving Soontir and a Saber Squad pilot "Swarm Tactics" so a 6-4-1 can all attack at init 6 (ST does stack!) I'm also going to give the TIEs targeting computers (from the Hotshots card pack).
Totally agree about the boxes in 2nd edition. It's liked they designed them to be impossible to open. New model is nice but I almost like the old one better
I love my wonderful fiancé who can be talked into a game of X-Wing as long as she can fly the falcon lol Great video sir, always enjoy the comparison videos so I know if the new paint is enough to buy another
I might just pick up that aces pack just for the extra model options. I believe they're pretty cheap anymore, and while I like the more blue color of the 2.0 paint job, I can't ignore that ugly top bit. Seriously, what happened?
I bought 2 "Imperial Aces" packs to cover my Imperial conversion kit (and because I love the RGI), so I can skip this one. I hope the 2.0 Interceptor you got is just a factory screw-up and not the norm. It's like they forgot to shade the top and the back...
Why do they always put the saber squadron ace on the back of soontir? Stop that. I just want to fly soontir and 3 aces. I cant do that though because the cardboard doesnt match.
i have more issue with first ed blisters tbh, with second i just run the knife down the side between the two bits of cardboard and peel the lister off the box easy .
One of my favourite ships, but I already have 2 of each paint scheme from 1st edition.. Can't see any need for this myself. Also, my 1st editions seem to have shiney cockpit glass, so it's weird to me yours doesn't. My favourite is a tie between the Royal Guard interceptors and the blood stripe interceptors.
Eh, i think its about average... Im concerned with the Quality FFG puts into X-wing... A friend brought a core set and the x wing s foils were waaaaay to loose, they couldnt stay open nor in a neutral position (wings would fall to either side) that and all the medium bases i have cannot hold identifier tokens...
Huh, I am really surprised at how different it looks. Don't know if I will upgrade to em as I already have 3 Blood Stripes and 1 regular (Hoping to get 1-2 more regular ones for a proper wing in epic)
Its a shame that there are no new pilots in the pack ... an updated Fel's Wrath maybe at least? Maarek Steele in early days of his career? ... but no ... :(
Tie Interceptor 1st version looks surprisingly better than the second version. I also don't like to open the 2.0 boxes, it is not that simple to remove the ship out from those boxes... but I love the game, so won't complain about it xD
Blood stripe for me...love the aces squadron concept. I guess in the unlikely event that a pilot survives flying a regular TIE fighter in combat and manages a few kills they prove themselves enough to fly a (presumably more expensive/harder to fly) TIE interceptor :) Not sure why we didn't get more cards with this one rather than just the reprint. Instead of having a separate hotshots & aces pack it would feel better to get an extra TIE + new pilot cards.
I'm just starting X wing, been trying to figure out what to get where to start. I think I want to go with the Empire faction, love the designs and they seem really strong. Saw older vids with what to buy first on a budget and wanted to know if you have any current recommendations?
I'm planning to start playing X-Wing, but the prices of the 2nd edition seem a little steep in comparison to the older edition, should I star with 2nd edition anyways or is 1st edition just fine?
Depends on what faction you are playing and how quickly you want to jump into the game. If you are primarily a Rebel, Imperial or Scum Player I would definitely buy older, first addition ships and then purchase one or two 2.0 Conversion Kits for that faction. As long as you don't mind having ships that don't have moving S-Foils (like the x wing or B wing) then 1.0 ships are going to come cheap and are available now unlike some 2.0 reprints.
The ships are the only thing compatible between the two editions and it's 50 dollars for each factions conversion kit. It is better financially to go with 2nd edition in the long run.
The reason I say purchase 1.0 ships is because FFG has recently hinted that they will be slowing down on the 2.0 reprint expansions which means if you want other ships that are currently not available for 2.0 you'll have to buy 1.0 ships (with conversion kits) anyway.
Start with 2nd Edition, no contest. The 1st Edition is no longer supported. The gameplay of 2nd Edition is more refined and balanced, and it's a better experience than the 1st Edition was. Happy flying!
Thank you all! Any advice on what to buy first? I probably will need to have two basic teams, rebel and empire because I play mostly with my girlfriend and friends that don't have the game!
Your question about what do we love? I really love flying the Republic, but with the new toys I really want to fly some First Order. What do I NOT love? That everywhere I go the clone heavy weapon pack is out of stock :-(
Some stuff for 2.0 has had me wanting to get the new ones even though I have all my 1.0 stuff converted. This is not so much. With already having 5 INT's (2 Imperial Aces sets and 1 regular) from 1.0, this one just doesn't bring anything to the plate that wow's me. That paint on the top of the cockpit, yikes!
I do still feel like these Reprint Expansions missed a golden opportunity to put in a couple of new pilots per expansion (especially the Rebel A Wing, Tie Interceptor, etc...), There's really not a whole lot of cards in these and for someone who waited for these 2.0 ships instead of buying the conversion kits, it would be nice to get some more cards in the deck.
Personally, I like the blood stripe one from Imperial Aces... It seems, of the various re-done ships in 2.0, that the TIE fighters are kind of lackluster in general (in the non-literal sense!) in comparison to the larger ships in almost all other factions.
Damn, that is disappointing. Don't need more myself but it's one of my favorites and I wish they got more pilots and love. Both aces variants are the best models. The 1.0 in the light gray feels odd, but Soontir's stripes and the late great Carnor's red interceptor are classics.
Every time you use that knife so close to your fingers when the camera is probably obstructing your view somewhat, I have to look away in case the blade slips. I hold my breath while you're opening those things.
You could have barely fit four of these in a list until a dramatic point decrease for generic ships not so long ago, so I think these swarms are coming soon!
I love that you throw in comparison between 1.0 and 2.0 your unboxings are great 👌🏼

you can't do two boosts, in fact you can only perform any type of action just once per round
@@Reach_of_the_Astronomican You know, I forgot about that rule until now, and now I am in a much less cheerful mood about these things.
Blood stripe Interceptor is best Interceptor, no doubt
Thanks for these! Even though I don't play X-Wing or Armada yet, I love your unboxing videos.
Cool the shine on the glass was a nice touch trying to catch up on entries
I love Soontir Fel. In 1st edition I played a ton of him, Vader, and a 3rd ship, usually Palp on a Lambda.

One of the coolest ships in entire star wars
Just starting X-wing and your videos are a great help :)
I like thr full red one from imperial aces. Always fly with that one first.
Same. It's been my favorite since Star Wars: Galaxies.
Everyone knows red goes faster 🤪
the hole in the back is a docking thing for refuelling and such.
I love my wonderful fiancé who can be talked into a game of X-Wing as long as she can fly the falcon lol
Great video sir, always enjoy the comparison videos so I know if the new paint is enough to buy another
Thanks for the comparison. I look forward to these to let me know if I need to buy any of the second edition reprints.
I love the idea of a wing with 6 of these boys!
I love that I got my Interceptors in the 1.0 Ace pack. The paint looks bad on the 2.0 reprint.
I might just pick up that aces pack just for the extra model options. I believe they're pretty cheap anymore, and while I like the more blue color of the 2.0 paint job, I can't ignore that ugly top bit. Seriously, what happened?
@@benquinnobi6461 rushing them out
The large hole at the back of ties is the engine, the two smaller ports are maneuvering thrusters

Red ones are on point I reckon 👌🏼

I love the new boxes for 2.0. 8\
That's what I love. no more slicing your hand open on blister packs.
Should I get an interceptor or a defender?
Where i can Buy this?
I wonder if the paint issue just affected a small batch. It really does look terrible.
Tie Interceptor is a really good looking ship!
Was it just me or does the 2.o version a bit smaller or was it just the angle of the video
i have more issue with first ed blisters tbh, with second i just run the knife down the side between the two bits of cardboard and peel the lister off the box easy .
I love my cat and my collection of x-wing
One of my favourite ships, but I already have 2 of each paint scheme from 1st edition..

Love flying it, but tend to overestimate my chances and end up as a tiny cloud of parts rather quickly.

I love the Interceptor

If you ever stream yourself playing X wing Vs Tie fighter I would tune in to that. But the Blood stripe Tie interceptor is the best looking.

I love the aces versions :)
I cannot decide Armada or X-wing :X i love them both :D
Love the interceptors :D
Who doesn’t love the speed of the interceptor

I second this. I still have my old Red Tie Interceptors, and I hope they reprint them.

I have 5 lol
One can never have too many TIE interceptors, we have seven.
A lite pack this one, not sure I can remember so much blank card ;)
Personally, I like the blood stripe one from Imperial Aces...

I haven't bought the 2.0 version yet.. But i will soon, that'll be my sixth 'ceptor then! XD
Tie experimentals????
I like it, looks fun :)
Iconic
I think tie with red sports strip
Hoping that top hatch paint was just a one off and not how they all look! 😬
Don't like that new one and it would have been nice to be able to use someone other than Fel. I guess we're awaiting Imperial Aces reprint.
the second edition looks good till you get to the top of the cocpit.
Damn, that is disappointing. Don't need more myself but it's one of my favorites and I wish they got more pilots and love. Both aces variants are the best models. The 1.0 in the light gray feels odd, but Soontir's stripes and the late great Carnor's red interceptor are classics.
the red tie interceptor
I think it is Carbon burn from fighting

Well, it looks like a TIE Interceptor.
It smells like a TIE Intercepter... but it tastes like chicken!
All that and still zero calories. It's amazing what we can do with modern technology.
