I have been waiting over 2 weeks for this set and finally hearing it is arriving in about 3-4 days. I started playing about 2 months ago and REALLY want this set.
I m waiting for the Rebel starter. Already got the Empire one. I like the new cards. They re different then before. I like the overview cards for obstacles and bombs. Plus what they ve done with the round tracker. Overall good product.
Could you posibly explain how youcan jump or whatyou would need to buy if you havent played this since 1.0? I have a LOT of rebel 1.0 ships and I just don't know where I could start, is the conversion kit for 2.0 even up to date? where could I get the dials and ship bases/pilots if needed?
We did another video on this called - Getting started with AMG's X-Wing. If you have a large supply of 1.0 ships, you can buy conversion kits to get up to date cards and dials. You need to buy the conversion kits per faction to update them. You will need more components which you can print out or purchase from the new starter set.
So far all of the officially released quick build cards are tournament legal. I'd be very surprised if the ones provided in the new faction boxes aren't. Of course points are subject to change.
So I knew they were leaving out generics, but they but different pilots on opposite sides? So if you pick up another ship, you still can't use both X-Wings or both Y-Wings. Way to screw your customers AMG. Nice device reference cards, but they don't have all of them listed? (Blaze is the one I noticed missing) Also quick note, those are Standard Loadout cards, not Quick Builds. Two different things. SL cards are tournament legal.
With this pack you still need an opponent who has his own ships. You cannot buy this and play it at home with a friend. Which makes the investment quite large. The core 2.0 set lets you play out of the box with anyone. With limited options, sure, but for half the price you get a complete game. When I want to play this with my young son I cannot ask him to invest that amount of money into a game. I think this is a slight negative to these packs.
@@ReconPaint I understand what you are saying. But then you will be playing Rebel vs Rebel. Which I think has an awkward feeling when first playing the game. It Just bothers me a bit you pay almost twice as much for what I consider is half the game. I understand where xwing is coming from. But it just not feel as a complete experience out of the box. But that is personal maybe. I like the core better good vs evil and feels like a more complete game out of the box.
So for old players not worth spending the 90-110$ for the set. Glad to know. At least it’s not as big of a waste as scenario packs. 40$ for a 1 play game. Horrible. To get people to buy AMG will make all the prebuilds 3-4 points.
The scenarios are pretty fun and well done, and the quickbuild cards are very much relevant in the meta. But you don't need to buy them if you don't want them.
The yellow chevron tokens are used to track Victory Points.

what is the use for the 1.5 range ruler?
It helps determine the center of the Mat for setting up the center objective.
Ffg doesn't make x wings anymore where can I buy the new x wings

Are the conversion packs still relevant with 2.5?
Yes, if you only have first edition cardboard it can convert it to the latest edition.
They should have included more pilots in these packs... kind of disappointing but I get it.... money is green.

Double siding stuff that should be usable independently sucks. Especially for stuff like ship bases in Hotshots 2.
Hopefully cards for bombs/mines means those aren't gonna change any time soon

Yes, you can. Each player takes two ships and plays it out. It's about learning the rules, not winning.
