I have to admit, I wish this list would have been longer. Yakone and Master Pakku probably should be included in here. Remember Pakku was with the White Lotus when they took back Ba-sing-se during the comet and he cut through those comet-empowered fire benders pretty easily.
Yeah there lists are never accurate thay just list super popular characters for easy click bait often pasing over bending masters that weren't in enough episodes to be clickbaity enough

I love the detail of Yue's eyes being the only ones still bright blue when the moon was gone
I love these small details in the red moon scene: the fire, the water controlled by the ocean spirit and the waterbenders’ eyes, they all had intense colors and the contrast with the grey/black background adds to a much deeper atmosphere. I think these elements portray perfectly the tension and sadness of the general scene and really show the geniality of this show!

Yakone should have been on the same level as Amon, he may not have been able to stop chi paths, but he bloodbent an entire room of the some of the strongest benders in the world, including the avatar, without a full moon, without moving a muscle.

I just realized that when Zhao killed the moon spirit fish, everything's grey, but only Yue's eyes had color, 'cause she has a piece of the moon spirit.

Honestly Ming Hua can use watter as arms... but so could even Tonraq. Also I think Tonraq is really underapreciated. I really like his more earthbender-like style, with a lot of emphasis on mele combat and ice weppons. I really liked that he was bending like No other watterbender and that made him kind of powerfull in my opinion

Yea, I agree with Ming Hua being in that ranking. We never really saw her resisting bloodbending, per se.
So its sensible that the ones above her are all bloodbenders and the literal Moon Goddess.
Besides she had a hard time fighting against Kya who was in her 50s and mostly trained as a healer.
Ming Hua could waterbend without moving, blood bending her wouldn't stop her from putting an icicle through your face while you're doing it.

I feel Amon would easily defeat Katara in a waterbending showdown
In a bloodbending duel he’s destroying her but purely water bending then katara is beating him. That’s what this list is based off, just pure waterbending feats. We saw Amon do a huge water spout but that one feat compared to all of kataras feats is nothing.
@@jacobmiller2663 I think it’s not just factoring in water bending considering all the blood benders were so high even though there regular water bending feats were nearly nonexistent. For example Hama being on the list when we hardly see her do more than two small feats (besides blood bending). Yet unalaq and paku were left out.

@Kaitlyn Wilson I think it's a bit different. Badgermoles and Sky Bisons are the first earth and air benders but not its source. However, for fire and water benders, sun and moon are all where their power come from. Without it, they can't derive the power.

Unalaq should definitely be on this list. He is definitely more skilled than at least Kya in combat and maybe even ming Hua, and perfected the spirit bending technique, and if you're going to include Yue because she's the moon, then it's not a stretch to include Dark Avatar Unalaq

He always needed either his kids or The Dark Spirit to help him fight his battle the reason why he ripped Korra light spirit from her was because he was fused with the dark spirit
@@joelthescorpion I know people don't like him... But i think he is actually really strong. He clapped Tonraq easily and later Mako and bolin in a 2vs1. Unalaqs waterbending skills are impressive. And the abilitys to call dark spirits for help isn't a weakness this is a huge Upgrade. I would put him above hama

Amon is the best BLOODbender, we barely see him bend anything else. Katara is the best waterbender because she mastered the entire element: ice bending, water bending, bloodbending, plantbending, cloudbending, healing. No one else can do it all.

ok I think this should've been a top ten and they need to rearrange, because Unalaq?, Tonraq?, Eska and Desna?, Pakku?, also Amon is #1 without a doubt. Man was in a league of his own. If you rewatch s1 he never lost a fight.

@@Peter_2504 this channel is i believe the official avatar youtube channel, so i think that they know the show a little. I don't know this channel has a link with the creators of the show but there is a big chance that this tier list is what is actually true, or decide by atla creators

You learn more from failures
Y'all forgetting that this isn't a 'most powerful bloodbender' list, it's a 'most powerful waterbender' list, we're not just talking about only the sub-skills of waterbending (e.g bloodbending, etc) but the skills, resourcefulness, raw power and creativity of the bender, on lok we didn't even get to see much of Amon's waterbending (we only saw him waterbend once) so there is no way you can say he is the most powerful or skilledwaterbender when people like katara (who is literally a waterbending prodigy and canonically stated to be the greatest waterbender who ever lived) are around
*Ranking of All Confirmed On-Screen Bloodbenders in the Avatar Universe:*
From Least to Most Powerful:
*5) Hama* - The only waterbender in the multiple millennia that bending has existed to discover and master the ability to manipulate the fluids within a living organism’s body via waterbending. This makes her one of the most resourceful and intelligent waterbenders in the history of the Avatar universe.
*4) Katara* - She was able to ultimately resist Hama’s bloodbending grip as well as master the dark art instantly while Hama needed to practice for decades on elephant rats before she was powerful enough to bloodbend a human being.
*3) Tarrlok* - He was able to bloodbend without the full moon; a skill that Katara wasn’t able to master as far as canon shows. However, it should be noted that since Katara was able to master bloodbending instantly with no practice beforehand, it is very plausible that Katara could have learned to perform bloodbending without the aid of the full moon if she diligently trained herself in the dark art as Tarrlok did.
*2) Yakone* - He was able to execute a technique called, “psychic bloodbending” where he was able to bloodbend with little to no physical movement without the aid of the full moon, a skill that Tarrlok was never able to master.
*1) Amon / Noatak* - He possessed Yakone’s psychic bloodbending skills plus he had the ability to both resist the effects of bloodbending as well as eliminate one’s bending ability permanently, which can only be restored by the Avatar.
So Ming Hua doesn’t exist ?
@@GokuBlack-rv8yj Regarding Ming Hua, she wasn’t shown on-screen to be a bloodbender. The creators initially conceptualized her as a bloodbender but decided against it since they didn’t want to have another bloodbending villain after Amon (Noatak)
@@michaelmeining889 I agree that if I was considering overall waterbending ability, then Katara would be much higher since she is a skilled waterbender, healer, bloodbender, and swampbender, while most waterbenders are only proficient in one or two areas.
I would have also included Pakku, Unalaq, and several other waterbenders. The list I made focused solely on bloodbending.
@@appouhal Yeah excluding bloodbending I think Ming Hua is underrated. Korra changed the meta for waterbending. Bloodbenders seem to equal the strongest except for Katara being an exception for some reason. Bloodbending is useless against a stronger water bender that doesn’t know it yet.
@aang avatar There are actually five confirmed on-screen bloodbenders in the Avatar universe: Hama (the inventor), Katara, Yakone, Tarrlok, and Amon (Noatak). It's very plausible that are a lot more waterbenders in the Avatar universe who are capable of bloodbending but they weren't shown or mentioned on-screen or in the comics.
I think Amon is superior, reflecting all the other elements with his bloodbending and bloodbend without moving.
Not to mention he can just bloodbend + take your bending away
However, in the end, he could not completely control only one Korra and was hit by airbending, which threw him out of the building. Although his father was able to suppress an entire meeting, and he is not even in the top.

Dark Lord that was literally plot armor on Korras part. She just randomly learns airbending when she’s struggled with it all season

@@darklord6109 I agree that Yakone had stronger bloodbending pure strength wise but it indeed was plot armor how korra was able to resist it when she couldn’t moments before to stop him from taking her bending. Personally I think amons bloodbending is stronger when he can see you versus if he’s blood bending someone without looking at them

Being Avatar is huge advantage in bending. They are talented and strong by default

Katara is not just a powerful waterbender or the greatest healer. Katara deserve second place cause she was the one to learn and master all the sub-elements of waterbending. Bloodbending, plantbending, and healing making her a very capable waterbender of all time

Also she could easily bloodbend first try while yakone's sons needed years of practise to learn it in broad day light. Dont forget katara just chooses not to bloodbend, she can escape from their grip and whoop them in 2 seconds.
Ming hua is actually very powerful, she fought mako and his brother twice and easily defeated them, she even easily defeated eska and desna when she was to set p’li free, I feel that she could easily defeat tarlock without his bloodbending.
She was only defeated by mako because of her environment and she even took out kya with ease

@@user-ie4uk3ub6c Ming hua is fast and agile therefore thats what makes her more deadly and scary, she is really agressive and mastered waterbending even without her hands. While Katara on the otherhand who also mastered waterbending probably the 2 styles which is the northern and the southern style, Katara also mastered healing and learned bloodbending. Katara is resourceful and proficient, her waterbending is more superior than Ming hua. I believe their fight would be interesting and cool but we all know Katara would win. Katara invented the water arms so for sure she knows how to counter it not to mention Katara's speciality in waterbending is water whips, Ming hua cannot go near to her and wouldn't stand a chance. Katara has more waterbending techniques and abilities unlike Ming hua who is just offensive and aggressive, Katara would outsmart and clap her xD just like what Mako did and what Katara did to Azula.
If katara would have practiced on her bloodbending technique she probably would be better than amon because she was able to do that right after she learned what bloodbending is without any practicing. That also shows us katara is the most talented waterbender

Nah, Katara was literally taught bloodbending over days, remember Hama's first lesons about using the water inside of plants etc, she was lowkey teaching Katara the groundworks, and then she gave Katara a full on demonstration and palced her into a high pressure situation to force Katara to learn it fast. Also Katara only ever managed the very basics of bloodbending, holding someone still and pushing them to kneel. Katara had a lot of tallent and potential, exactly why Hama wanted to teach her, but, Hama was definitly more skilled and talented both at waterbending and bloodbending.

Ming Hua is literally using waterbending as an extension of her body.
Maybe, The family of Yakone ( including Noatak and Tarlok) were descendents of an incarnation of the Moon or Water spirit, because in the comic of The Rift, it was this spirit called Lady Tienhai who reincarnate himself (because the spirit can change in a lot of eays in her words) in a human life and in the best cases, this incarnations can have kids and they inherit the habilites of their father spirit or mother spirit. And with be a "descendent of The Moon" you can make bloodbending someone anytime because you are the moon himself. (sorry for my bad english, im chilean and i love avatar in any idiom)

Ming Hua can control water really well, and we've seen katara release herself from hama's bloodbending even before she can bloodbend. So i think the same thing can happen to ming hua when she face bloodbenders(probably not amon). It's just my theory though. But yeah i think she is in a greater rank than Hama since Hama could only bloodbend at fullmoon

Number 1 is a MASSIVE technicality. I would argue she's more of a spirit bender for being able to merge her spirit with what was left of the Moon Spirit, which is a massive feat in itself. Also, put some respect on the twin's name: They were enough to force Korra into the Avatar State to shake them, and Korra as a principle water-bender is pretty scary.
