I have a Code25, absolute love it. If you want instant ACDC, select the classic plexi, turn on the compressor, and put the level and compression on 10. Instant fire breathing.
Cool to see Russel Brand doing these videos
+That smelly guy on the train dammit...well played. xD
Kinda like a hybrid of Brand and Colin Farrell.
This guy wishes he was funny. lol.
This guy likes the sound of his own voice too much. If he shut his fucking hole and let us hear the amp it would something. Not convinced, it's quite expensive compared to the Vox VT100X.
Aww, what's the problem guys? Can he play better than you lot?
I just bought this amp last week.
Best 250$ I've ever spent on an amp. This Marshall is Limitless. Of all the amp models, currently I'm stuck on the 2555 Lead amp, and still rotating through various cabs, tweaking the effects.. It's an incredible amp. I actually prefer this amp to any of the Peavey Vypyrs and I've own a few of them ( OG Vypyr 15, VIP 1, VIP3).. The tones are incredible. You wouldn't be disappointed with this amp for being Marshall's first step into the modelling genre of amps.
To everyone talking smack about it, i own this amp and trust me it sounds way better than in this video. The problem is that this guy isn't setting the power amp correctly. If you want to get better sound, the presence and tube resonance must be changed to match the speaker. Also, set your tone with your ears not your eyes. The angus young settings on his tube amps will not be set everything on 5 as the speaker isn't perfectly set in the middle and as I've heard myself sometimes leans towards high mids which means you should turn your mids lower than your treble and bass no matter what.
I playd this at GC in person -- it took 5 mins to get a decent tone even then it was debatable ... it reminded me alot of those fender mustangs ..
TheGoldenChodeTV I'm getting the CODE 50 in a few weeks. Can you tell me how to set the amp correctly? I would love to get the best sound out of this amp.
Just because you're shite at setting amps, pedals, pa's etc that's your problem. My brother's got a 100wt head + cab and TheGoldenChodeTV is right - you have to use your ears, adjust to the environment that you're in etc. I have no trouble getting the sound that I want EVERY TIME but then again I studied music, work as a musician/teacher rather than those like yourself who are half-baked music critics at best.
You are right. I've also created a preset emulating Rockman x100 dist-chorus sound (but the chorus can be better) for Def Leppard (and some Boston). I ussualy roll-down the resonance on power-amp section, and i think that's why the amp sounds a little bit boxy in many reviews but meehhh, maybe they haven't realized that this amp was created to emulate all the shit behind a band (you know, cabs, pre-amps and all that stuff) and it offers to you infinite possibilities of sound. The only thing I would change from my CODE 50 is the speaker.
(Pd: sorry for my poor english :p)
@@elmarisco8459 please share that setting!!
This video's sound quality does it no justice what so ever - you really have got to get down to a shop and test one for yourself!
Thank you for this review! It was more than difficult to search for a decent code 50 review.
there aren't any great demos of this amp up on yt yet, but this is one of the better ones I've seen. No one should expect it to sound exactly like the real deal at that price point. The litmus test with all modelers is 1. can it provide a convincingly real and satisfying playing experience, given the limitations of the intended use? and 2. does it allow you to play and stay out of your way? Based on what I'm hearing here, I think it's winner if you love Marshall tones. I probably wouldn't gig with a cheap digital amplifier, but for practice + handy interface for DAW, it's hard to find fault with this.
sounds good. been waiting forever for the 100 watt head.
thanks man! i was wondering what Nightrain would sound like on this amp. I have my Code 100 preordered, cant wait till it arrives 😊👍
Great demo!
I just received my CODE50 a few days ago. I haven't really had a lot of time to play with it yet. I have it just to my left under my computer/listening/recording table, and mounted a strip of LED lights above it so I can easily see the controls. So far it seems to work fine with my Android phone. I do notice the Silver Jubilee sound is louder than most of the others. I usually practice at night, and this way I can run my iMAC into it for music, and headphones to practice without waking everyone around up.
Really great amp, I love it. Great review man
Excellent review and Demo. Thanks
Nice vid !! great sounding amp
This guy makes awesome reviews!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘
great demo!
Helpful video , cheers man !
Cool video dude. I just got this amp! Love it! My first Marshall after years of playing. Can’t afford a traditional one.
I know your comment has been up a while but I am in exactly the same boat …. it has been good to me since I got mine home.
Marshall Code sounds great !
Late to the party, but I Love my CODE 25. Holy hell, is it loud for such a tiny box, but more impressive still... this Dagan has evolved into such a confident Rockstar and I couldn't be happier to see that his personality was able to come out and play over the last 6 years!
Nice review bro. I need this to practice on my home. :)
Good review, I'll be getting one, well done m8
how about a review of the code 100 2x12 combo, since it also has a speaker out and an effects loop.
I'm a fan of the CODE 25. The CODE amps take some time to TUNE in, but much better than any other cheap modeling amps out there.
This amp is fun as hell. Nuff said.
Why everyone say
" Code is a great home amp "
And I say Hog Wolla !!!
I got the Marshall code 100w combo for gigging because as a married man i cant afford a traditional marshall and it cuts through the mix with ease , super loud and very versatile Yes in the future a speaker upgrade couldn't hurt but I love it as is plus it's very durable and dependable so don't listen to the negative comments on this amp and give it a shot because in my experience the Marshall code 100 watt combo will give you a mile wide smile !!! Thanks ...
GOD BLESS !!!
What do u have your master volume on for a pub gig? I don't get to actually do sound check when I play cause it's open mic
very good review, great playing and the best English accent thank you
It's an Irish accent
It's a Geordie accent
When my phone 📲 has an incoming call will the marshal will pick up the sound via Bluetooth also? Lol
Mode avion 👍👍🎸
Bought this 50-watt version a couple months ago.. didn't like it at first but the more I played with the settings.. now I can ditch my pedalboard I get tired of carrying around...
thx dude
ST Audio, thanks for review. What would you recommend: Line 6 Spider V 30 or Marshall Code 25? I can't decide this.
How does this code 50 stack up against the vox vt40x tonewise? speaker/cab sound quality and quality of clean tones.
How can I get that sound from the preset small combo in pedal?
Any update on 100w head and cab release?
Im really glad you played a little Guns N Roses and ACDC after all the majority of the people looking to buy these amps are the ones who mainly play in bedrooms and cannot blast a 100 watt marshall stack loud enough to get the sweet distortion, so like myself i would be using it for bedroom covers mainly and home recording but planning to get the 100 stack version so i can use it for gigging too :)
+Darryl Williams You don't need to crank it up for distortion because it's digital.
Richard Yang thats what im saying wheras you do with valve amps so you can get valve tones at bedroom levels :)
Can we connect it directly to the DAW? Without a mic?
Is this loud enough to play a small gig?
Now A Spark IS available in market,So, which one do i should buy?!Marshall code 25- 50
sounds pretty fn good to me.
This Code 50 has a built in looper??
AWESOME ORDERED MINE TODAY
You should refuse delivery
why
Thenty Frangolias Because why would you want a solid state Marshall combo?
i already have 2 jtm 45 heads and i want this one for my studio, vesatiltiy
Nice
Is the 50 good for gigs
I have a JVM 410H and personally I think it's overkill. Looks like these newer amps may be the same. I had a 2004 DSL, it was the best sounding amp I've ever owned. That's just my opinion.
Super Lead had a Presence, Treble, Middle, Bass and 2 volumes, 4 inputs
How many hit records and awesome albums used the Super Lead amp??? Alice Cooper, Jimi Eric, Brownsville Station, Rory Gallager, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy the list is simply endless.
Marshall used to be so manly.
I remember standing at the front of the stage ripping off a lead through my Super lead. When I stopped I almost fell backwards from the sudden break in sound pressure.
Hmmm Loud and then great tone? What do you prefer? The amp is more then loud enough. Everything is miked so you could do the same with a 25 watt amp anymore. It's all about if you have a good noise and if you don't who wants to hear that shite. :)
My Super Lead was a Tube tone Monster, not a High Gain amp like is on the market today
It was a brand new 1972 Super Lead, No Master control.
if the intro demo was supposed to be TNT by ac/dc, either the amp was dialed in wrong or the distortion is too high and too buzzy...getting the ac/dc sound (especially Malcom) is the trickiest thing because the gain is not as high as you would think, but the tendency for a lot of players is to want to turn up the gain on amps that can't pull off that great , toneful clarity Malcom can get from his amp without reaching for the gain knob
+chatter Settings and mic placement most likely. Watch the other recent demos of the Code 50. They sound better than this,
The demos of real musicians playing it sound just as shit as this - the only video that doesn't sound shit are (surprise surprise) the marshall demo videos.
that's fucking awesome for the price
Anyone going to do a review of the head and 4x12 cab?
it's not out yet. It comes out next month, I think.
I now have one on preorder so i will probably do a unboxing and review of it when it arrives :) i was told by the store that they are due early july
and what was your verdict?
Very plainly, I offer a question that is important to more important to those than myself. What is the gain variable for these type amps. I see that you offer modeling in cab differences but what of the high gain modes of more modern metal and the like. Does this amp go to metal high gain ranges as well.
It does almost every Marshall you have ever heard really close and a bonus of American Fender type noise. You really need to touch one and see if it gets you where you want to be.If your a (metal head) front load it with an EP Booster and you might be surprised for $250.00 for the amp and $116.00 for the EP Booster from Sweetwater. $366.00 bucks. That has got to be the least you spent with the most reward. Just my biased opinion because I really like it man.Rock On!
Patrick for the price it's fun for a while and useful as you say for practice dynamics and parties. I believe that to any playing guitarist they can dial in their own tone with this amp
Can we not get just one balls to the wall, heavy metal demo of this amp?I mean seriously.
I ve seen the line 6 processors take boxy out side the box. no joke at all. I am setting on the fence because of the abundant heart stink here. but I still do not know if it will have a effects in and out. I think it should if it's covering full range convince of accessory capability as well as in amp effects. I ve come to feel good about preset setups on my line 6 HD processor. it makes practice amps Live for certain levels of play I say 50 watt or less. it has joker factory presets that you want to overwrite
but as a training too and bar circuit it performs what you set to play
I m beginning to feel comfortable with modern processors on tube and otherwise. I wont pretend it's end all excellence but a great dynamic for small to medium venue dependant upon the in house PA quality. eventually I ll spring for the top of the line 1500 dollar pro setup. once I ve seen live use and determine it's worth it. the reason I m not sure now is its only top of the line for a year or two. and no processor with a short life span seems worth that money even axeffects is shrinking in popularity now that Yamaha has powered up line 6
which is the defferences between the 50 and 25?
25
russel fucking brand with shoes on, FUCK YEAH
It wont be out till the end of april
The PRS CE !!!!!! Show stealer
does this amp work well with other pedals ?
Yes
It sounds really boxy. Can't understand how a 1x12 can sound like a 4x12 cab.
IMHO the sweetest is the 25W one, as a bedroom amp, no need to have pedals and one doesn't even needs to fiddle with amp itself, just use the app.
this amps have a 2x10 speakers?
Code 25 has a single 10" & the 50 has a single 12". Pretty loud!
this amp or line 6 spider jam or line 6 Iv 75?? plsss
Definitely not a spider. They're abysmal
Line 6 spiderV amp through puppet master insane mode and a MT-2 with max Gain
when is it out for god sake?
+Bongofish man The code amps will be available in stores early 2050, it will take them that long to get them to sound more realistic.LOL.
💎💎💎💎💎
I love my code 25. Don't listen to the haters.
I love how so many of these demo guys follow the same infringement suit of the manufacturing companies by refusing to use the name of the other amp it's supposed to be as in stating "USA Clean" for example. We all know or are supposed to know what that means but I don't think Leo Fender would rise from the gave and gnaw this man's balls off if he said, " This setting is supposed to sound like a FENDER amp." If I were showing this to a friend I would say what it's modeling, not leaving them guessing what a mysterious 'F type amp' is. I just find it amusing. That's my 2 cents.
Thats waaaay too much gain for ACDC
Code 25 is the bees knees
don't like how dirty that recessed control panel is going to get.
agree
Uhm, clean it?
7:03 ok wtf
Defo looks like Colin Farrel, I bet he's drippin with fanny!
Good looking dude.
All the demos of this amp sound boxy...thin...and seems to not have the warmth of a true tube amp. I have heard one thats going through another power amp and then into a 4x12. Now it sounded much better that way, BUT....you guys are trying to sell it as a 1x12 or 1x10(...yikes). So I will have to physically test this amp out. But the price is right though!
Oh Man! Touch one or two of them then comment. I guarantee you will not be disappointed once you learn how to use it correctly. There is a large learning curve to find your happiness, and in a head to head comparison with what's being emulated to the original you will be surprised for $8247.00 less to have everything it does.Hell it has $ 1600.00 in effects based on the purchase of individual pedals. How is that terrible? Where can you spend $ 250.00 and not only have a 50 watt amp and have every noise you would need at the touch of a knob or button?Just a random opinion from a guy who pre-ordered one after touching one.I absolutely enjoyed the noise I heard and a few clicks inspired me on a different journey that I might not have considered trying. If you do get one and don't like it give me a shout and I'll buy yours at a used price. LOL :)
Patrick, I've ordered the Code 25 and want to play blues on it. Any advice about what settings I need to access? Many thx for your reply (please.....)
Just noticed your question, sorry it was so long for my reply. There is not enough space for me to explain how to get where you wanna go.I like mine dirty and you might not. Try watching Marshall Code Product Demo and save it, to watch over and over again. Then as soon as you hear the noise you like, trim it up or down and that's where your happy tone is.Good luck brudda,I'm still finding sh*t I didn't have yesterday. :)
Thanks for your reply mate, will try this out.
Agreed - I have never heard any amp on youtube sound this bad. They obviously have serious issues with the sound quality on this amp. The marshall forums are full of people complaining.
Queria muito um amplificador desses, estou tentando juntar uma grana, mas ta foda, tudo ta foda aqui no Brasil, muitos impostos, tributos, todo o dinheiro do brasil se esgotou, e quem paga a conta? : eu é claro ( que preciso de um aplificador desses) but i dont have money!!!!, if someone wants to send one to me in Brazil, I would be very grateful :) !!!
vai trabalhar, pra outro pais.
Katana Boss 100 mk2>
Y the hell would u want to play a backing track threw the same amp and speaker as your guitar?
IMO....the presets sound horrible. The app is where I was hoping to get some better tweaking. Problem is the app is horrid! Never works...just look up all the bad reviews on the app. Affordable sure but very disappointed wit this. I have the 50 watt.
App works fine for me.
Cum se numește aplicația pe care trebuie să o descarc?
Mine sounds more alive than the one in this video.
Modeling amps is the dream amp of the beginners😂😂
translate ??????? WHHAAAATT ????? 😫
usually you're so excited, what happened, you sound depressed man
is it just me or does this amp sound thin
It sounds thin!
Carlos Denegri Funny, all the complains I hear are about it having a really thick sound
Then tweak the eq? It's good for the money. That's its purpose.
Nice guy, good review. BUT, that is by far the worst rendition of You Shook Me All Night Long ever!
OMG can you talk any faster. No more caffeine for you when you do your next posting. LOL
Slow down buddy
Blackstar TVP series sounds much better.
How come all these modelling amp makers thought it was a good idea to use micro usb as an input, that is absurd! all cables out there are micro or even c-type (on the device side) to normal usb, anything else you ff want to plug in is standard usb
WTF is he talking bout ???
sounds terrible.
So Marshall is selling toys nowadays !
Sounds completely SHIT to me !
yeah i mean wtf, my inbuilt Laptop Speakers are so good, why dosnt it sound like a real tube amp -.- *sarcasm*
think I'll go for the CFX after all.
@wohoooooooooo Then answer us why other amps on youtube sound great but this sounds shit on every single video demo? idiot. Just go read the marshall forums for all the complaints and returns and people swapping the appaulling speaker out all over the place. Marshall dropped a bollock with this amp.
I must disagree, I bought the Code 100 combo, I love it. I can use pedals in front if I so choose, there's an effects loop and a speaker out if I want to use a 4 x 12. Granted the shipped settings may need a little tweaking, but then again, that's all down to personal preference. Any recorded amp on UA-cam has the chance to sound crap. You need to try one in the shop/store to get a genuine feel for the amp. After all, would you buy a car online because it looked nice on a UA-cam video? Thought not.
Richard Clark let's see your set up
how the hell can anyone hear this and want to buy the amp..hahahahahahahhaha! and whatever you do dont even try to bring this on stage.. your finished
Music_360 *you're
Ali Rafiei Fuck off spelling Nazi
Music_360 lol triggered xD
I use it on stage and it sounds great!
au bout de 3 minutes il à toujours sorti aucun son, font chier de toujours parler,en plus ,je comprends rien !
Everyone that plays the early AC/DC and Van Halen use WAYYY TOOO much distortion. Angus and Eddie had great tones, but used much less gain because they used no pedals at all, all the distortion came from 100w Super Leads turned all the way up. It can be duplicated with much less distortion.
Oh, this amp sounds like shit. Good for little kids perhaps.
not everyone has thousands of pounds/dollars to spend on an amp. Some people actually live on a budget. Your arrogance precedes you sir.
Boxy, boomy - like the cheapest of amps. Every video of this amp just sounds like utter crap. They can't all be wrong, can they? Other amps from other companies sound good in these demos. As much as I wanted to like this amp, it just seems to be total shit.
You just need to buy the head version and run it into a cabinet. The fault of these amps is its awful speaker and cabinet, the tones are great.
go listen to it in person, it sounds a lot WORSE!
Thanks for the review, but the amp sounds really bad. It looks like a toy. The worst Marshall ever made. Terrible.
Can use headphones by bluetooth or only by cable?
