Alan Turing is the codebreaker's name, he deserves more recognition than he has. The man basically invented the modern computer and shortened the war by several years, saving millions.
+karol p This is reasonably well-known. But they cracked a slightly simpler version before the war started. They no doubt played a large part and deserve great credit but without Turing's dedication developing Colossus the code would never have been broken again.
+Maurice Philipps The point is that Without Poles there would be no Turing Colossus. But here is no place for such a discussion anyway.
+Maurice Philipps and how he was treated ,CASTRATED FOR BEING GAY
+humphrey peek chemical castration, but yes his treatment was barbaric
+Maurice Philipps You are right that he deserves more recognition, but you can't say for sure it shortened the war by years. The Americans still would've had the A-bomb by July of 1945.
Its crazy how good Pete is
Agree
Yeah and some dudes said that he wasn't a good player because he worked for Mesa Boogies. You know the cab clone saga ?
+Sylvain Alain he worked for the uk/european distributor for mesa and a lot of other brands. But yes, he is a seasoned player to say the least, has his own style and sound. I've been looking around youtube for videos of him playing wing tom jones, westlife and other big artists, really great player!
The Cab Clone thing could have been avoided if Mesa hadn't let everyone think its something its not. The cab models are all 1x12s except for the classic, which is 4x12. Most folks don't realize that. Its a single SM57 on a V30. Compared to multiple mic'd cabinet, it doesn't sound all that great. And that is what most comparisons are made with. If you're like me and don't like V30s, you're not gonna like it all. No, I do not own one. Mesa really messed with the expectations of the Clone.

I'm coming to finally realize what a magician Danish Pete, really is. Any style, any guitar. And you never get a sense that he's colouring those different styles. It's like a different guy playing. How are you doing that?!! :-)
Be born in Denmark and change your name to Pete, maybe?
+TheKnifleman I think if you're a Danish guitarist, you're automatically called Pete... Or Knud.
+Woodeso's Guitar Mods One part practice to one part talent.
My wife accidentally hit me in the Knuds once...... It hurt!
@@DragonAirsoftUK Play Barbie Girl at a lot of gigs.
I just picked up a Code 50 and it is spectacular! Within 10 minutes I got an almost perfect Tool Tone, with the plexi preset and some tweaking. I can not believe what I got for the money. I would definitely recommend!
tool is sick
"Within 10 minutes I got an almost perfect Tool Tone" Welp looks like this is what im gonna get.....
What was the amp settings for that Tool tone?
Velocity Halo he said the Plexi preset with some tweaking, gonna pick me up one to replace my Kustom KG 100FX can't wait to run my MIM '09 Fender Strat through it
Your comment just sold me this amplifier
I like Pete. Pete is good. I like Lee. Lee is good. Guitar good too. I simple man. Today is good day ._.
Don't let cheese
Good.
Beer is good!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘

You make my day
Pete trying to give Lee those looks he gives Mick, but Lee ain't having none of that

I know this is an old video but I just wanted to give credit where its due and say thank you for your excellent advice and customer service. Without going into a life story i've played guitar badly on and off for about 15 years but decided to finally have a crack at doing it properly and needed to buy a practice amp that could potentially handle jamming with friends or maybe even the odd small gig. I was doubtful about non tube amps as friends had always shat on them when mentioned in conversation but my budget wasn't going to stretch to a valve version of what i wanted. So after watching endless reviews (including your code 50 one and also the modelling amp shoot out) and seeing you had several b-stock examples of the code 50 I decided it was the way forward.
The amp is amazing. I'm not saying it will compete with the high end marshall's etc but for my purposes it is incredible! It's bursting with features and with that comes a bit of a learning curve but once you get your head around the bluetooth, app and plethora of settings it is actually incredibly good.
Once i hooked it up to my PC i was even more blown away by the Marshall PC software which allows you to configure your own patches on there with a great, easy to use interface. You can even download and share artist inspired profiles and store them on your PC or send them directly to your amp!
I have seen a lot of technophobes/Luddites that chuck up negative comments or reviews because they cant get their head around the code 50 interface/software which saddens me because im sure some people have been deterred from buying it and are missing out on a quality bit of kit at an incredibly affordable price point.
I know I will never outgrow this thing, I might one day feel the need to get a valve combo or even a half stack one day but i'll always keep this for practice, and smaller gigs that i might one day play!
Once again thanks guys!
This is the only demo of this amp that is worth anything. Thanks gentlemen!
It's christmas again. Pete and Lee in the same video!
+Christian I reckon
That DSL40c sounds kind of buzzy and 'de la fizz'...
I love how Pete's playing is simple, relatable, tasteful. I can actually hear what the amp sounds like.
Best review you guys have done in a while. I like the fact that you spent time on the clean channels and sort of just took your time with the amp overall. We all know Marshall can do metal, but it was nice to see other features it has. Pete had some very nice runs also.
please do more videos with Pete, love his playing!
Awesome..just brought the code 25 and a epiphone limited edition les paul plus top pro .and a fender cd60S , I'm a beginner ... so I thought I'd start of good lol .. and I'm 54 years old .. luv you channel cheers Chris
Chris & Sam Living the dream is the code 25 good? I wanna buy it
JDL M yes Luv the amp buddy
I know that it has already been 7 years since the video was posted, but you are a very friendly duet and it was a really pleasant presentation. I have been looking for my first amp and after many reviews the Marshall Code 50 seems like a perfect option. I played it at a local music store and liked the round sound and the endless possibilities of this boy.
I second that. It’s been 15 or so years since I regularly played and I decided to get back into it. Been doing research and instead of getting what I wanted from back then, I decided to order the Code 50 last night. Really wish the 100 wasn’t discontinued.
Really good demo ! Nice to hear a product reviewed without excessive OTT distorted noodling going on all the time. I have to say that Danish Pete has impressed me about as much as the Marshall CODE amps ...... lovely clean tones. THIS is the way to sell a product !
Please could you guys do a blind folded code vs real Marshall?? That'd be awesome
Josh Green easy too lol
wym real marshall?
@@Colinshreds69 probably tube or something
Code 50 rules...I should know..I own one and gig with it...been playing all sort of fenders and Marshalls...and all sorts throughout my life..and the code 50 is loud and versatile...and easy to carry ..light ..very light
I could listen to Danish Pete play all day! Amp sounds great!
That strat sounds sweet, cool little amp as well! Yet again another brilliant video, awesome playing from Danish Pete too!
Even in 2020, this vid makes it a good day, cheers guys
Yea, those times when you could cough without fear of being shot dead by the health police (for your own good).
I'm really looking forward to trying one of these out. Thanks for the intro.
Already pre-ordered mine! thanks for the awesome video review and great playing!
One of the best jams I've seen you do Cap!
Well, found my next amp
Yellow Cab Records definitely same
TheFranticMeep - hmmm
did you actually buy one? I got the 100 combo, awesome.
@@chrisdaviesguitar its crap did you guys already sold your code gear?
@Jamie Best too late to influence the decision yes, but I went with the Mustang v2 as a practice amp
That jam at the end was insane. Congrats.
I'm glad I bought a good amp, considering I hadn't even seen this review. Thanks for giving me the positive vibes I had got the right "first combo" as I'm just learning the guitar. Love the vids guys. Keep em coming. Hope the coughs gone by now Cap 😉
Sounds great! What great features. Good to see Marshall competing in this market. I met Jim Marshall once....it was quite a thing to meet the man himself signing posters at a small guitar show.
Thanks for the Code Demo. More videos with Pete!
Always good to see a new andertons video!
Danish Pete, you sir, are the man. Thank you. Cap, you're alright also. Keep up the great work, absolutely love these videos.
Just got mine today, and wow, this thing is amazing! I cant believe they packed all these features in this amp for the price.
This amp sounds the business. Looking forward to trying one. Good video chaps.
Could listen to Pete play all day
I have only recently been made whitting of the Marshall Code series, and from what little I've seen so far I am very impressed. I honestly can't think of a genre in which one of this new series wouldn't find itself to be made to feel right at home and, with the singular exception of Fender, there aren't too many makes about which the same can be said. I'd love to spend a long afternoon getting to know one of the Code series a whole lot better.
Great job on the demo! I really enjoyed it boys and will check it out in person soon. Thanks!
24:25 "The ability of the player is a little bit different as well."
"Well."
Lmao, but seriously I think Lees playing has improved quite a bit.
+biggoofybastard He's only demonstrating equipment too, so just needs to be musical and consistent. He's better than me anyway.
I'd rather hear nice blues licks and simple chords for a review than sloppy shredding.
Danish Pete is some player wow ! Great sound great video must come down to the shop and check these amps out !!!
8 years later i got one and boom i love it ! i sat at the guitar shop for 2 hrs playing this and the Katana mk2 i think the Marshal lifted off the floor and its versatilty blows the Katana for me. Thanks guys for the video.
Cool video and nice sounding amp. Good to see Danish Pete playing with the Cpt. Pete rocks the guitar.
I was told not to buy this amp but after some tweaking it sounds amazing. The people that say that this amp is crap are people that can't work EQ's. Sure its not as good as Marshall's earlier amps but its definitely not crap.
That is probably the best modeling amp ive ever heard and ever seen amazing job who would of thought it would of sounded like thst crazy man
And my new Christmas present to myself is one of these. Can't wait!
love Pete's playing :) he is absolutely fantastic..
great review, badass amp.
So after 3 months of waiting for my preordered code 50 it finally arrived (yeah!). One thing that they don't mention on here is that this amp is ridiculously loud, anything over 2 in a small room will melt your brain. It does clean tone quite well, nails 70s and 80s rock tones, can do blues tones, and so so djenty tones (the djent sounds are a little noisy). Surprisingly it does country quite well, both modern rockabilly and old school.
I'm planing to buy one tomorrow. should I do it ? worth it?
It makes some great noises, but the Bluetooth is sketchy and its mildly difficult to edit and make your own patches without using the app. The speaker itself sounds slightly boxy but not noteworthy outside of the bedroom. What kind of music do you play and what do you plan to use it for?
John Mcgary I play grunge and blues mostly. And only to play on my room
Hey I'm really into that djent sound and was wondering about buying one of these amplifiers. Is it hard to get a good groovy djent tone out of it? When you say noisy what does that mean exactly? Do the noise gates in the amp not do a good enough job of cutting that down?
+John Joyce it's just that the presets are all set to the treble Side and needs to be edited. The stack preset would be a good place to start, it's got that plexi tone, but I would run a pedal through it for djenty stuff. To get the best out of it your going to have to edit the presets.
Great players, great amp! Definitely thinking about buying this and please do more videos with Danish Pete, he is a great player and one hell of a character!
Just got one (2020). My first amp and since I plugged in, I've become a hermit! Endless sounscapes man!
Is is good for bedroom volumes ?
@@benallmark9671 depends how much you like your neighbours mate! Seriously though, good question. It's LOUD particularly the DSL and PLEXI settings. I rarely go over 3 vol. And 2 mast. Vol.
I think they do a 25watt version too.
surpisingly good and dense metal tone... i played jmd-1 and Code seems more appealing to me
im actually considering a swtich to this from my JMD102. Im not gigging as much lately so this would be a cool trade off
Great demo guys but in this 215 POUND IN SHAPE SCOTSMAN opinion, the Blackstaramps id 100 is more organic sounding. Has a better note projection, more versatile & ease of use.The True-Valve-Powr feature adds tremendous depth to the sound.ANDERTONS thanks a lot for your video walkthroughs you guys play great but this amp is a little too "bright" in the upper mids for me
Haha well at least it resembles a true marshall then. All of the mids.
Just got this amp and love it. Still learning how to set it up as you can do so much with it.
It's Danish Pete! I wrote on Captain's Facebook page JUST yesterday that I wanted to see more of him! it's like Christmas, but better!
Your day will never be complete,
Without a dose of Danish Pete :)
Meme it!!!
250$ for that? Man... I kind of wish my Roland Cube 40xl would suddenly break down so I'd have an excuse to buy it. I still like my little cube, it's a nice amp, but I'm pretty sure this has it beat..
Wow, suprisingly nice. I liked this review a lot more than I expected I would.
Great Vid, seems like Marshall on to a winner here reminds me of when the original valvestate came out !the new go to first amp? was also very good having Danish Pete should do more Vids with him
Man this amp sounds pretty decent! The price is ridiculous. $349 for the 100 watt head??? The options for good sounding cheaper amps is so much better now than it was in '95 when I was learning on a beat up Gorilla Amp.
Chi Chi Rodriguez
This sounds ten times better than the NAMM videos!
Best video yet, for the CODE. Fun stuff. Thanks....
Just ordered my marshall code 100w it should be here in 5 days, can't wait.
I’m going to return my CODE 25.
It could be good. But I want try another brand. Total beginner here.
@@craig.encinitas what did you dislike about it?
Well, now that this video is almost exactly three years old, I'd really like to read from CODE 50 owners who have owned their amps for a while now and who've had a chance to explore its capabilities. I have a couple of questions even. Do you gig with your CODE 50 and if you do how well does it handle the size of the rooms you've played in? Have you used yours for recording, and if so what are the results you've had with it? Does it model these other amps closely enough for your tastes?
Me, I've had my CODE 50 for about three months now and I'm really happy with it. I've still only scratched the surface with its capabilities, but you know it hasn't been easy cuz I find some really cool sounding presets that I just love and I end up not doing much else in exploring the amp's capabilities. This is simply a fantastic amp and one you can buy for an incredibly affordable price. And no, I'm not a Marshall or Anderton's employee yadee yadee.
Michael McBroom Hey man! Had mine for about 2-3 years now and I record with it all the time, I have the AT4040 and an SM57 and it sounds really great with post processing! Haven’t gigged with it yet but I’m about to do alot more soon
I've had mine awhile now and I love it since I realized that you have to adjust the presence and resonance to get a really great sound .
@@TheBawss90 ive seen some people in the internet just say that this amp is terrible. Is it true? Because judging from your reply, it does sound really good and suitable for mid to pro player
Hey Lee, get some Vicks or something...I started coughing and sneezing watching this! Nice demo skills Pete : -)
Looks amazing, great video guys!
Wow.. The strat sounds rad!!
Amazing stuff! :)
Is that Leonardo di Caprio?
LOL. That's what I thought too.
no its ricky gervais
DiCraprio
Bang on. Looks nothing like Di Caprio. Dead ringer for Gervais.
Ha! Best comment
Watch Ola Englunds Will it Chug! With the Code 50 even he’s surprised. And he’s a beast
This video is chilly like that lava lamp on the back. I really enjoyed it, nice review!
I "liked" this video for several reasons, not the least of which was the jam session near the end! That was great!
the sound of the DSL at 24:17!
23:48 Roblox death sound
🤣🤣🤣🤣
God bless you both, guys... I swore I would never buy another amp after I procured my Mesa/Boogie Mark V:25... not to mention the Budda Superdrive I bought the year before, and the Peavey VTM I have had forever and a day, exactly... wow.
I am a cork sniffing tube snob but I can finally admit that I could make do with SS. I am blown away by my yamaha thr5 and this amp sounds good. honestly I wonder how many people could actually tell apart tube and SS if they were blindfolded. yes I know some could but SS has come along way.
Just ordered the CODE 50... pretty much based on this review - thanks guys!
Did u sell it?
The code sounded alot better than the DSL to me. Very surprising.
hashdealer88 it’s a killer amp you just have to play and tweak. Great for the money!!!
Maybe I am a little behind the times......ABSOLUTELY happy to know it ISN'T just me. And elated to know these two great guitar players enjoyed demoing the 50. Love my CODE 50.....I also have the Fender GT100....both are amazing!!!
I am coming to you from the future! I just got a Code 50 and love it! I am playing a Washburn G5-V threw it and it rocks!
Mid Of August 2020: Your coughs make me worried;)
Question about Green Charvel: where I can get one?
Don't mention the war! Fawlty Towers reference?
You're not British if it even crossed your mind to make that comment.
+A. Tee you're right I'm American
Don't worry, it's just funny. To 100% of British people that reference is completely expected and so unsurprising nobody would comment on it, just laugh at its ever-funnyness.
+Badass Guitar Dude "You started it!" "No I didn't" Yes you did, you invaded Poland" LOL one of the best episodes ever!
+Tommy Murphy totally man
really enjoy Pete's playing
The CODE sounds really good, nice demo guys! Cheers
These clean sounds are worth the price of admission on their own! But, most of the gain sounds I've heard sound like Line6 stuff to me.
nowyourenraged2: Oh stop spewing complete hogwash. Scientists, that's right "scientists" have proven that the human ear prefers the distortion of vacuum tubes over the distortion of solid state. Because vacuum tubes distort more than solid state.
That means there is indeed a difference between tune amps and solid state amps.
Allow me to make a correction to my spelling of the word "tube" amps above. I meant to write "That means there is indeed a difference between Tube amps and solid state amps".
Bruh
In America, we have what we call Freedom of Speech. Not sure where you're from, but if you don't want to hear my opinion, don't read my comments!
Do you have freedom of speech now ...?
"Sound like" with Rabea and Matt will be easier now. Just grab one of these CODE amps
You two do a great review. Awesome
I played one today at the store. Loved the sounds....had a problem on a new one. It just cut out after about 10 minutes...had to turn it off to get it back up. It sounds huge on a mess of settings. The sound was very expensive sounding. Amazing. 299.00 USA. That's amazing for this amp. I just hate the software stuff.....that stuff just doesn't last. You won't get 20 years out of the amp.
You can turn it way down....can play in your apartment or flat.
Danish pete is badass
I don't even wanna know what Jimi could do with today's equipment 😭😭😭 jeez man
Great sounding Strat. Sounds like my 2015 Fender 60's Series Strat.
I was in between going for an amp for the simplicity and a pc rig for the possibilities, this thing was exactly what i needed
In US, 25 vs 50 is only $50 difference. I know I only need 25 but should I get the 50 since it's only $50 more?
I hear you. But my living room can get by without the extra 25 watts.
The 25 has a 10" speaker, the 50w has a 12" speaker. Power is pretty close (3db) but the 12" speaker would sound full and a bit richer - my thought. Close to the same weight for lugging around.
It's better to have more and use less, than to need more and not have it.
if you see someone gigging the amp could you mess with their sounds using the bluetooth app?
Nah because the bluetooth range is only about 2.5 feet.
trigmachine and only 1 person can connect at one timp with the amp
A hacker could probably do that, but would one ever waste their time on messing with a band/guitarist? Probably not. To answer your question, no. You can’t just connect your phone while theirs is connect.
Yes I’ve pumped fart sounds through them
that blues jam was awesome guys.
Yes - more videos with the Captain and Danish Pete!
Alan Turing is responsible for cracking Enigma FYI
I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude but this is much better than Lee and Rob.
I agree..
+Darth Vader If lord Vader agrees i don't think there's anything more to be said here :P
+Tilen Marš I love the reviews with the Cap and Rob from a pure fun viewpoint, but Cap and Pete are nice because they tend to be more technical reviews of the gear because the Cap takes the lead and gets more into the technical geekery
+Tilen Marš Interesting. I find it a good presentation, but honestly, Lee and Rob are much more fun in their bitching about. But that's just me. Nice playing from Pete, though. Love that.
www.svenhorlemann.com
So true...
I’ve been going back and forth on getting one of these. I currently use an Eleven Rack with a 4x12. But the Code 2x12 100w sounds wonderful. Get a road case and put it on top, then there’s my rig. If I’m not using the eleven rack, I use my Marshall TSL 2000
Cap and Pete! Great team!
Mini jubilee review coming soon????
+Chris Hughes Probably :)
For banter: Chappers. For useful, versatile guitar playing: Pete.
Hey, Captain!
Would've been cool if you put this amp into some sort of blindfold challenge, where you put a couple of the presets on the CODE up against the original amps, for example.
Have a nice day!
Looks amazing for the price! I'm going to have to get one of these
