Amazing that all 3 of you got together to do this hike. I have been following all of you in your thru hikes, PCT, CDT… this one is doable for me. Thank you.
Adventures do not always go as planned, in fact that is the norm. Getting out and doing it is the main thing. Have fun and know when to stop is good advice. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Off the beach and up into the coastal rainforest. Now THAT'S something I could get into! My favorite section of the series. Rocket, you rocked it! Even with the blisters, you seemed to be having an awesome time! Nice video work!👍Thanks for giving me an avenue to a trail that I may never hike.
It’s the sand! I’m from a coastal beach town and do a lot of walks through sandy terrain. I can’t wear any socks other than injinji toe socks- it helps keep the sand from rubbing between my toes!
Yep It's probably the water proof socks... My experience with blisters is that each night or 2 you have to remove the patches and let your wounds get some Air. I also never walk with blister that still have water in them. I make a tiny hole/cut to get the water out and then patch it. Next day with a Swiss knife scissors cut the bits of skin that got dead/hard making the hole just a little bit bigger, then patch the wound again after. I usually use clean-ex and tape to make a patch that's not too tight nor too loose. FYI Growth Hormones Start to work at night while sleeping. so I guess it's better to sleep without the patches on. Good luck. I know you are all in a hurry to finish off your trail and that you have to keep up. So maybe stick to what you know now, and maybe consider my advise later on. All the best. Love your Videos.
Subscribed! I've got to say, it was Type 1 fun for me watching the three of you experience Type II fun. If I ever do that trip, it will be during the summer. Also, I will never use waterproof socks.
You know, Rocket, I already admired your grit, your perseverance, your determination, before the toe close-ups. Thanks as always for the video, and hope you're healing up nicely.
So much fun watching this. My home backs up to the beach near barview jetty where you ended your second day. Oregon coast trail is definitely a work in progress. It's probably really not ready to advertise as a through hike. Some of your travails were bad luck. The stretch you had to bushwhack on the north side of Neakhahnie mountain is normally very clear, but a storm zapped it earlier this year. You missed some highlights calling it where you did, but what you saw is definitely incredible. I feel so fortunate to live here. Glad you got to really experience it.
I have loved this series so much! I honestly didn’t know you could hike the coast even though I live in Oregon and now I’m definitely getting a group together to do this 🙌🏼
Rocket- great video, content, production. What a great group. Your toes are pretty decent, too. Lol 1 grain of sand, inside wp socks is a disaster waiting to happen. Hope they are improved.
Beautiful views. Hang in there. Change your shoes. Either they are too tight or the sole is loose that causing your foot move too much that it cause friction inside. There’s also too much moisture in your shoes. I’m glad you guys did it with no regrets. Pain or no pain you are rewarding yourself. Great job 👏
I had nail fungus on the toes then hands. The topicals don't work but Terbinafine did. Doctor can test a piece of the nail first. Discoloration of the nails might indicate this.
Thanks for another interesting trip. I just watched Billy Yang’s JMT trip. He had a horrible time with blisters. He was wearing waterproof socks. Hope you’re doing well now. Love your smile and spirit.
If you’re going to do the rest, I remember reading that the signage for the trail is all designed for sobo. I think it should be much less confusing. If you start in LC you’ll pass my neck of the woods in Newport. The central and south coast are amazing!
Blisters are the worst...at this point you can only bandage them and leave it till you get somewhere sterile. Shin Splints hurt worse, LOL next time try the injinji socks with the liner and wide toe box shoes...gaitors will help too...glad you marched on though...every step hurts I know
Julia, I've had a similar problem to the one you are having with your feet. Sand and dirt contribute to it, but the real cause (I'm not a doctor) is a yeast infection, sometimes referred to as "athlete's foot" or "trench foot". My feet are prone to the problem, so I have learned what to do about it. I apply Clotrimazole (Walmart has it in tubes that cost less than $1.00, found in the foot care section) as soon as I feel any kind of itching or burning anywhere on my feet, or odor coming from them. Those seem to be early signs of infection, which usually go away within a couple of days, if I deal with it early enough. The best use of Clotrimazole in the hiking situation might be as a prophylactic. Apply it even if you don't have any symptoms, whenever you are expecting to have wet feet for more than a short time. You probably have spent hours with wet dirty feet, which provides a great environment for yeast. Yeast eats the outer layer of skin, which separates easily, sometimes causing blisters. Any blistering between the toes is probably caused by yeast. Besides using an athlete's foot cure, keep your feet dry for as much of the time as possible. If you have to get your feet wet, put on water shoes for the "wet time", then dry your feet and put on dry shoes and socks. Many people swear by the kind of socks that keep the toes separated. They may work by providing an air space between the toes.
I have heard for years that California has wanted to secede from the Union. So I think ironically, that once you made it to the coast, your left foot wanted to secede from your body. It looks like you needed all of the positive attitudes that you could muster on a much harder trail than it looks - great job by all of you. By the way, that ferry boat captain got a lot more camera time than I have ever seen before - care to explain that? :)
That is pretty ironic. The same toe you have taped up is the same toe on my foot where the nail turned almost black from hiking in my area. I wore my old running shoes instead of my trail runners a few times and they don't support my foot good enough such that the end of that toe kept getting hammered. Jokes on me. I was eating when you revealed your toes! LOL Where were your Injinji socks? John from MI
Great series! Thank you for the inspiration. I’ll def be cooking a west coast clam bake (Dungeness crab instead of labstah) on the beach during my trip on Vancouver island this week now. Impressive views and even more impressive attitudes during a tough hike! Keep them coming💪🏼
Awesome! Compared to that other high-sub channel this is so much better because much more relaxed and more back to earth. You should really build a collective with these fine human beings. With Legends financial power in the background (book sales and influencer money) I am sure you can walk the entire year around and you can hire Darwin to edit your videos, if you get tired of doing it. I am really glad it worked out so well for you
If you have to put someone else down in the process of complimenting someone it's not a compliment. I'm sure whatever channel you're talking about has helped people and a higher level of enthusiasm isn't a bad thing!
Nice music. Foot issues look like too small a shoe. You need more room in toe box. Our feet do grow as we age, or in a sense spread out. You captured some beautiful scenery for all of us to see. Thank You for sharing your adventure !
Haha those feet were looking funky for sure haha. Definitely not trench foot though, thank goodness. Ask me how I know... I had to take a week off the AT when I made it just south of the Whites. After that I started carrying 3 pairs of socks minimum. Keep those feet dry and happy girl!😁
I know this was about a section hike, but what I think is really cool is that you just grew your #hiketribe. Y'all "get each other" in a way other people (non-hikers) will likely never understand and that's ok!
SAND = Blisters. everytime we have a sandy hike it always ends in blisters, also blisters in strange parts of our feet. Lol sadly no advice, we haven't figured out how to prevent it.
You should try hot shots to treat your blisters. Drain the blister with a hypodermic needle and then replace part of the fluid with benzoin compound tincture. It burns like holy hell for a little bit because it's 77% alcohol-based but it glues the top skin to the rest of you and allows you to hike on. The US army's solution to blisters. Not absolutely needed but if you're doing it during the middle of the hiking day slap a piece of Leukotape on top and hike on. Everything is available on Amazon. The benzoin compound tincture comes in two fluid ounce glass bottles, I put mine in a 30 ml nalgene to bring with. And I use 1 ml CC luer slip needles.
GLAD YOU'LL MADE IT SAFELY TO THE END ! HOPE YOUR FEET GET BETTER SOON ! WOULD OF GAITERS HELPED WITH THE SAND GETTING INTO YOUR SHOES ? WET SAND & SOCKS WORKED LIKE SANDPAPER AGAINST YOUR SKIN ? BREATHTAKING BEAUTY VIEWS COLORS SCENERY VIDEO & FOOTAGE ! YOU'LL BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED !
Waterproof socks, for any length of time, are not kind to your feet. Dirty Girls would help ! Is that the ONLY shirt he owns - or does he have a collection ?
Amazing that all 3 of you got together to do this hike. I have been following all of you in your thru hikes, PCT, CDT… this one is doable for me. Thank you.

WOW...The View!! So nice..Thanks Rockit!! And your feet!! OMG!! Great job you guys!! Happy you all made it safe and together!!

"Ivy-profen"... how cute is that? Great little series... thanks for sharing :)
WOW girls! U did great. Fun for me too! Thx. I traveled there in the 70s as a child. I'll never forget the beauty. Thx again
Subscribed! I've got to say, it was Type 1 fun for me watching the three of you experience Type II fun. If I ever do that trip, it will be during the summer. Also, I will never use waterproof socks.
Enjoying your series and hikes!

Looks like a really confusing trail, but those trees were awesome thanks
Great vids and great inspiration thanks so much!!!
Happy that you hiked your hike. I am going to have to check this out. Maybe in the spring. And take 10 days or longer so I dont kill myself
OMG, that tent set reminds of a time on the AT in the Shenandoah's where we had three tents in a space meant for one.
So much fun watching this. My home backs up to the beach near barview jetty where you ended your second day. Oregon coast trail is definitely a work in progress. It's probably really not ready to advertise as a through hike.

I enjoyed this series thoroughly 🥰
You guys are the Charlie’s Angels of the thru hiking world! :)
Great series of videos and great hiking buddies. Thank for sharing Julia 👍
I have loved this series so much! I honestly didn’t know you could hike the coast even though I live in Oregon and now I’m definitely getting a group together to do this 🙌🏼
Wow! Awesome hike. Yeah, I'd probably go for peak season on this trail but it looked amazing. 👍👣😉
Loved watching Julia great videos on the OCT!
Rocket- great video, content, production. What a great group.
Your toes are pretty decent, too. Lol
1 grain of sand, inside wp socks is a disaster waiting to happen.
Hope they are improved.
Nice adventure. You should come back and do some more of the OCT, but in the summer when the weather is better.
Absolutely beautiful scenery, great videos, I love your natural look and those beautiful eyes. Thanks for sharing 🎈💐🌹
Oh my word that foot! 😂
Awesome ! We (my friend and I) actually saw you guys before you hit the mess of downed trees coming down the Mt . Nice work ladies !
Great set of videos Rocket , beautiful coastal shots puts me in mind of north Cornwall in the UK
Great Videos! Really inspiring!
Super cool hike. I haven’t been to Oregon yet. Subscribed.

Agree. For me personally in the PNW, my feet getting wet even for one day of hiking could cause blistering.
While back wearing tight shoes I started wearing 2 thin liners socks per foot. Callous almost never and never a blister.
@@RichRich1955 Same here, the socks with liners did it for me as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed your hike! Been missing you for a while!
Thanks for another interesting trip. I just watched Billy Yang’s JMT trip. He had a horrible time with blisters. He was wearing waterproof socks. Hope you’re doing well now. Love your smile and spirit.
Just watched that as well. We are just about to try the injinji toe socks to see if that helps.
If you’re going to do the rest, I remember reading that the signage for the trail is all designed for sobo. I think it should be much less confusing. If you start in LC you’ll pass my neck of the woods in Newport. The central and south coast are amazing!
Always enjoy your videos !!
Beautiful footage, dope music, relatable and informative narration/storytelling.... awesome job!
Awesome, so glad I discovered your channel! Really looking forward to the next trip, all ther best from the UK
great video and fun
Was going to say something about your feet, but you've got plenty of advice. Hope you've healed. Great videos of OCT, glad we crossed paths.
Great series Rocket...well done !!!
I can’t believe you doing this at this time of year. You have been on the west coast so you’re one tuff young lady.
Love your videos and the music, I'm also watching Beccas, as a photographer I like to see the 2 different perspectives.
A bunch of tough ladies
Thanks for sharing

An adventurist fairy is on the trail again. As I had saw during a trekking expedition then I was a mountaineer.❤️
Way cool.. Elite Power Squad, nice.
I love when you first wake up!
😜

Try out a pair of bedrock sandals. Awesome video!
Love the video !! And I love the final thoughts at the end ! I feel like I was there with you !!
Do you like your Big Agnes tent?
I love mine. Thanks a million for the Hiker app tip. 👍👊

You're getting sand in your shows. Nasty to the feet. Keep going girls, love your journey.
Awww I want to be your friends! What a great adventure.
You look like you had a good time. I would have been bummed by all of the road walking.
That is pretty ironic. The same toe you have taped up is the same toe on my foot where the nail turned almost black from hiking in my area. Rocket, do you have a gear list for this 5 day hike? I'm.interested to see what you packed out for all of the wet & sand. Thanks!
I know this was about a section hike, but what I think is really cool is that you just grew your #hiketribe. Y'all "get each other" in a way other people (non-hikers) will likely never understand and that's ok!
In my 2 years in the military, I never had a blister.
I always had two pairs of socks on my feet, thin and normal.
How about the “ North Country Trail”. Starts at the NY/VT boarder and ends in North Dakota?
SAND = Blisters. everytime we have a sandy hike it always ends in blisters, also blisters in strange parts of our feet. Lol sadly no advice, we haven't figured out how to prevent it.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. And you do have tough feet!
Awesome
I'm looking for a 50ish mile stretch with minimal road walks and mostly forest paths. Any advice?
also awesome videos
We didnt find that in the northern section. I would research the southern portion.
awesome conclusion

11:08 🍕🍕🍕 Awesome job by you girls! Only the real one's know.
My prescription is ibuprofen and ibuprofen and ibuprofen... Haha. 😛
I've read that improvements to the trail gaps are in the works, but not complete in 2022.
Hot and moisture trapped in waterproof sock blocking airflow. Best to use wool socks.
Where did you end up in Oregon? Astoria?
I'm thinking Rockaway, doesn't seem like they made it to Cannon Beach.
Oh law!! Cut the toe off before the infection runs up your leg!! Just messing, really enjoy your vlog!!
do your blisters itch? if yes could you have gotten into poison ivy/oak?
Hello, would you want to review our Truck Bed Tent?
OMG. WAS THAT YOUR BLISTERY FOOT ON YOUR PILLOW?? HAHAHAHA.
yeah that was trenchfoot we used to do a shot in the field to fix it by hope the paws are better now
This video is so good:
Those pitches!!!!!
😂
ALL MINE 😍😚😙😙😙

Nice music in BG
hey a bunch of us in NJ walk barefoot for miles never get blisters - why not barefoot on the sand ??
wonderful videos we enjoy then !!
15-16 mi per day. Not shabby at all!! I'm sure ur feets are saying "Stop this madness"🦶🦶😥
My feet hurt!
Love this woman
Super masti 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Julia, you sound really tired. If your feet can’t breath, you’ll get those lovely blisters.
Waterproof socks, for any length of time, are not kind to your feet. Dirty Girls would help !
Is that the ONLY shirt he owns - or does he have a collection ?
julia, i have just found your channel. You are so badass!
Omg I thought all your toe nails were black at first 😱
Grouse feet. ✌️👊
To much time off you went and got soft
