I remember being a student at KU and tailgating before KU played. At the last second I decided to skip the game so I could watch this. I was alone in my friends house with 2 kegs all to myself. It was worth it cuz this game was awesome
well we got fucked by the ou alumn bcs committee lol. the bcs said it will never happen again after 08. Texas was the better team, no one in their right mind puts ou in front of Texas but ou cashed a check I guess
@Jay Sebring nah. Hard fought game on both sides. Much respect to my brothers north. I remember us way down, middle lb went down (soul of the d)... Otherwise we was screwed. I remember muschamp hugging gdgd, saying how gdgds offense saved him (muschamp). We woulda been a better matchup in the ncg. But they got the nod. Edit: thats right...gerald mccoy. I commented in the 1st min of the vid.
@@chrisclark7367 Texas came out of nowhere in 2008 after a mediocre 2007. This game was the coming out party. Once Shipley returned the kickoff, our side was rocking!
OU lifetime fan here & the only 2 things I remember from this game is Jordan Evans continuing to hit ppl after the whistle & Demarco not being able to hit a fucking hole to save his life. Simply the worst game I’ve ever watched
This was the LAST time that BOTH TEAMS were championship material. We need more of these. Now Texas fas fallen into mediocracy and Oklahoma continues to fall in the playoffs, these RRR games are pure meaningless 🤦♂️
Thank God for youtube and this channel. We'll be in a sports drought after the NBA playoffs but we can still get our fix in with these.
One of the best in the series. LOL my mom and I went to this game and skipped my cousin's wedding. WORTH IT!
I hope your cousin forgave you
@@dallascowboytouchdown4319 Long story short, Texas won, my cousin is divorced. I stand by my decision.
@@jaredtaylor8083 it now I’d rather meaningless now
@Jared Taylor LOL. Yeah would of definitely been a waste of time

Mack Brown was at his best when he coached underrated teams this team should have won the natty🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford. 2 classy QBs.
What a classic, if not for Shipleys legendary return idk if we pull this out! 🤘
Back when players stayed the full 4 years and these rivalries became personal
Easy way to fix it. Let the labor take a share of revenue.
Horns were so close to back-to-back natty's one dropped fumble and one shoulder injury.

My favorite RRR game. Such a classic
The best one was the 2022 one
Damn good game HOOK EM HORNS
When I think of Shipley I think of that return. Every single time. 12:45
Imagine if Gideon had caught the ball against ttu, smh
That block at 36:06 isn’t even allowed anymore. Sucks. Game got softer. Good times here
Quan Cosby = Billy Pittman
I know where those five people who don't like this video (3/5/2021) live.
Best red river game ever! Boomer

I agree,ou LOST!!! 😆

The best one was 2022 RRR
Perfect game!
Best game I’ve ever attended in person
I was there too, and at the NC game with Vince against SC. Oddly…I liked this one better too. It was ELECTRIC

@@vasherized how much did the tickets cost?
@@robertolebron2296 It was 14 years ago so don’t quite remember. I probably paid 150-200 per ticket aftermarket.
Man ou defense was swarming on McCoy in the first half
🐂🐂
Only one comment???
How about 36?

Texas should've went to the National title game that year.
That loss at Lubbock really hurt 😞
@@allengreene9954 It was devastating.
@@TruthDissident Very devastating.
Gideon....
OU had a harder schedule, and blew out a team you couldn't even beat. Get over it.
Both these teams would have lost to any of Texas, USC, or even Penn State.
Texas would have lost to Texas?
I see this was after the term "Red River Shootout" became too offensive.
Colt McCoy ability to flop was his best attribute.
Oklahoma got robbed on that interception
Clearly a drop

They’re good games
Roughing the passer should not evev be a penalty. You're playing football, deal with it
