Honestly after finishing the last tale, I was pleased with the lore they brought. The only issue was waiting for the Northern lights for the transmission parts but personally I loved the new information and such given. Been a fan of the lore videos for awhile, keep it up!
Thank you! I agree. The aurora/glimmer fog requirement caused me to rage during my stream. I was about to break something after waiting 7 in-game days. If I had 1 critique about the gameplay of the tales, it's that they need to fully unlock everything and have it accessible on all future save files after completing the tales.
Guys, be extra careful when looting the 4 needed items for completion of the story, i only found 3 and then left the bunker to cook some food. When i returned the plank that you move away to find the hidden room comes back to it's place. Now i have 1 item to loot inside the room without access to it, hope they fix this bug...
Did they fix it because I'm in Sundered Pass and the snow recovered the basement door to the destroyed cabin and there are too many timberwolves for me to be waiting for an Aurora again.
This story as a whole raises a few questions and theories. 1. Was Rudiger and the foreman trying to kill each other at the end a misunderstanding? After all, if Rudiger transmitted the data to *them* (if *them* is the board) and the foreman was after the data. Then the latter falsely thought that Rudiger was running away. they weren't in their best mental state. 2. "E.W. was right". I wonder which theory Rudiger tried to prove, and why would it pique the interest of a pharmaceutical corporation (if your deduction is correct). 3. following the last question. Why was Jahnn Industries (a primarily pharmaceutical corporation) interested in geology? Medical geology is indeed a field, but from what little I have found, this field focuses on how the environment affects health (arsenic, asbestos, and radon) and less on finding cures and making profits. Maybe it was a mineral they were looking after, some minerals are used in medicine for treatments but then why was that project so important that it warranted complete secrecy with money spent on bunkers and security details? 4. I am unsure if this project was primarily focused on developing a weapon. 5. Why does the outbreak (if it is the same outbreak in Wintermute) affect only Perseverance Mill years after (and before the first flares)? neither Milton nor Port-Marie has been affected. Taking a shot in the dark. My theory is that the Rudiger machine changed the properties of a mineral on a regional scale, accidentally creating the glimmer fog and the outbreak. years later, due to something (earthquakes/climate change/solar activity before the first flares?), those minerals contaminated the water (the region has a lot of rivers and lakes), and this water supplies only Perseverance Mill, contaminating the inhabitants. my theory is mainly inspired by a specific town in a video game (I don't want to spoil it) and needs improvements. TLDR: the water has a strange state and taste. edit: spelling and some clarifications.

We don't know who EW is or what they wanted to prove, so we can't pinpoint what rudiger wanted to do. 3. I don't know why Jahnn would be interested. Maybe they have investments in other types of ventures. Maybe they saw something in Rudiger's experiment and thought it would be a good way to profit and branch off into something new. The bunkers were not built for this. These are cold war bunkers that were most likely already there. 4. He specifically wanted to discover new models for understanding the planet. He wanted to help humanity. If that means the ability to use the earth against an enemy during a war, then it could be beneficial in that way. That's just a theoretical example I came up with. The phrase "creative destruction" is intriguing. 5. Remember what caused the outbreak. The machine. The data and potentially the blueprints for that machine were transmitted somewhere. Someone got the plans for the machine. Maybe it was Jahnn, or maybe someone else. Either way, if that illness appeared 40 years later in a new part of the world, that means another machine was constructed. For your theory, I have to correct some things. The glimmer fog was created by the machine itself. It can't be from some minerals below the island. It takes millions of years and extreme pressure or heat to change minerals at that depth. So these minerals haven't changed and they can't be affecting the surface. I don't think the island has water wells, so they wouldn't be drinking ground water. Keep in mind that this illness was created by the machine, so there must be a second machine near Perseverance Mills.

Well, Methuselah is completely unrelated to this video, but I did not skip him. I've had a script written for his video for 4 months, but I pushed it to be the last video for the episode 2 video arc. I got the second to last video out right before the tale dropped. Once I'm done with the tale related videos in a few weeks, Methuselah will get a video.
