Excellent info, especially on climbing exhausted. Never realized. The biggest problem with ropes and climbing, is all the junk in your inventory. Most times you are too encumbered to use the rope when exhausted.... and then comes the impossible decision for hoarders.... Wat in th' world am I gonna drop?
Easily half of my gameplay is spent wondering whether a peice of coal is worth a flare and a bandage, how much ammo is too much ammo, and whether or not sprinting is really worth it. I just need to make more bases.
Tips for new or returning players. Get or make the crampons asap! They are worth with. Making them is easy. 4 scrap, 2 leather. If you can make the AC gold mine trip, it's well worth it. Not only do you get the crampons, you get the Tech. Backpack. It doesn't take a slot and adds 11 lbs to your carry weight. On lower difficulty, you can find guns. I think there's a hammer in there too. Don't go to the mine loaded with stuff. Leave anything you dont need back at cabin. You can goat walk down the mountain and end up at the fisherman cabin below.
5:03 Sundered pass has since released and I’m fairly certain the climb at amber lake is even longer than that. It’s so long you’re guaranteed to run out of stamina if you’re not using crampons or a stim.
please accept my gratitude for telling me that you can grab at the end of the cable, if it weren’t for you, I would have lost my progress (the translation may be bad because I’m translating from Google translator)
Hoders some ropes have problems like droping things will have them stuck in a un reacheble spot like milton park rope to ml from milton if you drop some thing you cant get it back. Thats the onli one I can think of
Hiya bashrobe, I wanna leave a comment saying love your videos and tips in the long dark, and i've enjoyed them very much. I wanna know if you have any updated review on the rifle locations, or better yet the weapons found in the long dark. I am a player of the long dark but lately many months have passed since i've last played this beautiful game. Thanks for reading my comment. and thank you very much.
I apologize if you've already made a video about what I'm about to ask. I looked through your videos and couldn't find one. Can you show the different types of weapons and what is the difference between them? Or is it just cosmetic. For example: between different hunting rifle`s; revolver`s and bow`s. Thanks!
Nah, that's caused by the displayed crafting time being doubled for any tool you don't currently have on you. If you're actually holding both knives you'll see the correct times for each. The issue with improvised crampons is most likely caused by a simple mistake with multiplication/division. For example if the crampons give a 0.6 multiplier to stamina drain, when they added the improvised, someone could have made them give a 0.5 multiplier thinking that was "worse."
8:20 that's not a trick, that's 'bug abusing' and imo like ,many others cheesy bugs, that's totally the dev's fault, sometimes I find it to myself that some devs at this game are like "Programing is my passion", how does someone program a logic that benefits the "more heavier you are on clothes, the farthest you can climb". like, why wintermute doesn't receive all updates from the regular survival game. also, the build that wintermute runs is different with old mechanics, dated back to 2019 lmao.
9:36 now I get it why the game shows "dont try to do this survival technics in real life" in the opening screen
I even love the disclaimers in the game, because Hinterland wants everyone safe. A good sign about we paid for a game from a conscientious dev team.
I am proud to announce that I haven't fallen off a rope once in my 400 hours of the Long Dark.
I did however die twice by auto-walking off the dam.
shit happens
Auto-Walk has been my largest blessing to discover yet has also nearly killed me several times...
same, but came really i mean REALLY close to end my 200 days voyager run that i use for the tales on one of the rope climbs of the new map
i slipped off a cliff in the far range branch line trying to drop my items off the side
If your game isn't saved I'm pretty sure if you hurry and quit it will spawn back to your last check point location
Bro that last rope catch at the end is just chef's kiss, mmm.

@@lancepeterson7997Honestly, yeah. That's the main problem I run into, especially on lower difficulties
9:10 me using coffee before every climbing 🤡🤡
Coffee is actually useful for climbing so I don't blame you.
Those Rope Jumps were spectacular! Thanks for the info!

That rope jump looks sick. Great info as always 👍😁
Damn, that last tip is crazy. Didn't even think about that one
wowww i have never seen anyone use the method of skipping the ropes by jumping down, i need to try that!!!
I think i see Tomasina do that. Dont know now what video.
don't do it irl

2:14 I never understood why the dude falls so fast like earth's gravity suddenly changed to 9.9999 m/s
Oh wow bashie that’s actually something I didn’t know about the stamina vs the fatigue ⬜️
Outstanding as always!
New amazing video, with new as always useful tips.
New video from Bash = Good day
oh god they're gonna patch ropes now mr robe :/
Another great guide! Thank you!
I never knew improvised crampons were even different, so I never bothered making them. Great Video
Bashrobe is killing it! Thanks for the great tips!

The translation is good.
Thanks for this video, great to know these things, never even dared to climb a rope when I'm not 100% sure I'll make it.
Thank you for all the info. :)
Bash taking us to school again.
Thanks for another great video, Bashrobe! 🙂
Great information! Thanks for your work!

I bet that first rope in Sundered Pass on Rudiger's trail is another like the one near Mindful Cabin. Hard climb to make
I had no idea you could make it down ropes while exhausted. I have wasted so much time lmao. I assumed it would make me auto fall or something
WOW so much staff we learned, ty ;)

what short cave ropes do you mean at 5:52 for ash canyon?
There's only one cave rope in AC. Up the river from Angler's Den is a cave which will lead you to Wolf's Jaw Overlook.
@@Bashrobe ahh I see what you mean now, thanks for clarifying!
Pretty sure that the normal crampons are actually superior to the improvised crampons now.
Нi can you make a video about where snow pants appear? Please
Hopefully we will see a cougar tutorial from you soon :)
Great Thanks
It's sad that the switch hasn't gotten the new updates yet😢
Спасибо, очень полезная информация.
Also, i dont thing that is bug with Improvised Crampons, beacuse for example, if i remember, Improvised knife craft faster than Hunting knife.

Oh thx mate. Never had both of knifes in same time. Even i play stalker i craft myself Improvised knife.

omg! jump rope!
Wow climbing is really buggy actually.
