    I'm pretty sure the Hi-Point still has a lifetime warranty. About 20 years ago I bought a used 995 and I sent it into Hi-Point. They inspected it, replaced the worn parts and sent it back. All I had to pay was shipping. IMHO, that's a darn good warranty!

      My 4595 carbine randomly blew up. I called them expecting nothing and they said wow I'm impressed send it in and we will get you a brand new one free. They literally melted the zymac receiver down and sent me a new one through fed ex with the same serial number. Whole brand new gun they covered shipping and everything for me.

    These are a lot better than people think. They are definitely not for the gun connoisseur. But for someone on a budget who needs a firearm for self-defense, this is definitely a good option.

    • @richardeikenburg7347
      @richardeikenburg7347 8 місяців тому +10

      I would say they’re not for the gun *snobs, not connoisseurs. Most people who say they “hate” them 1) have never shot one, and 2) are narcissists who have to show off their high-dollar “designer” guns to everybody anywhere they go, and look down their noses at anyone who doesn’t have an equally-expensive range toy. I have an expensive handgun that is more accurate than the JHP45, but if it isn’t surgically clean it is not reliable. It also is extremely picky about ammo. Knowing that, I would NOT trust it for self defense. I CAN and DO trust the JHP45 for *home* defense. I love it, but it’s a bit heavy for EDC. But if it was all I had, I’d find a way to carry it.

    ... about six years ago I was at a local range and a guy in the lane to my right was shooting a .45 acp Hi Point. During a time we both were loading mags I asked him about the Hi Point, he liked it a lot, pointed good and was fairly accurate. He said it was his bedside gun, and I remarked that using an inexpensive pistol for home defense was a good idea especially since, if he had to use it, it won't break the bank if it is confiscated by the police. He told me that's his plan, and he knows all too well about the pistol being taken by the police since he was a Deputy Sheriff in my town! ...

    Because of your first video review of this weapon, I went out and bought the same one and I have to admit that I love the damn thing. I paid $36 for it... The shipping cost more then the weapon! Hell, the spare mags cost more then the weapon. The other reason I bought it in .45 is due to my dad passing away and he left me a spam can of Russian .45 acp ammo and I didn't own a gun that fired it. Problem solved! The gun became my yard weapons cache gun after I had a home intruder gain access to my home after Hurricane Ian and I was not able to get to the room where I store my weapons. Remember folks, It's a tool that was designed to solve a problem. No one cares what a hammer looks like, just as long as it get's the job done.

Yep, it's a little heavy but it's more accurate than I am and it goes bang every time I pull the trigger and eats whatever I feed it. I thoroughly enjoy your no nonsense videos! Thanks for a great approach and your honesty. I do the same thing on my channel, and I need to get some more videos up. I'm extremely grateful for my Hi-Point 45 and am very surprised that even though the trigger is rough, I'm very accurate with it. Same thing with my 9mm carbine, and I recently bought a 10mm pistol. I'm confident it will be as accurate as my other 2. Have a great week, and keep the great videos coming!

    When you really think about it a gun is just a tool . We want it to be reliable , reasonably accurate , and with enough power to get the job done . I think you've demonstrated that the Hi-Point you're reviewing does all that .. I don't presently own one but I don't see where you can go wrong especially given what they cost . Great video , thanks so much !

    I have the 9mm c9 and the 40cal JHP. The 9mm had a lot of hiccups with the first two mags I put through it , after that it’s been 100%. The JHP has been 100% since the first magazine. I think they are great truck guns, boat guns, or anywhere you need a reliable gun , but don’t what to use an expensive one to rust or get beaten up. My wife actually prefers the 9mm C9 to more expensive handguns we own. She keeps it in the nightstand on her side of the bed. I love the fact that Highpoint keeps making new stuff like their 10 mm and updating their old designs. They kind of follow the Palmetto State Armory motto about making less expensive firearms so everyone can afford one.

    Subscribed to your channel today because I watched the Hi Point review. I bought the Hi Point 45 ten years ago and everyone said they jammed but I bought anyway. I took it out and fired it and on the second shot it jammed so I put it on the shelf and there it has sat for 10 years. Your review may have me take it off the shelf, oil it and try it again. Thanks!

I like that you shoot everything you can get your hands on, especially affordable guns. Even if it looks ugly and its bulky a lot of people dont like the basic features on the gun. Its primary function to shoot well and cycle well regardless of the grain of the ammunition used for this particular platform pistol. I still shoot my 45 high point every time i head out to the out door gun range. ❤❤

    That said..
    I have to point out, and perhaps you're unaware perhaps not..
    The Meltology Mountain {melted structures buildings city} in the backdrop is incredible, amazing even.
    Center frame it looks exactly like the dome of a capital style building and a smaller domed clock\bell style tower to our lower left of it.

    I owned a Hi-Point CF380 for several years. I had to tweak the magazine that came with it but once I did it shot first time, and every time. I bought a second extended magazine and never had a problem with it. Through hundreds of rounds it was perfectly reliable. Hi-point is heavy and homely, but if you're on a limited budget they're a very good option for self defense and target practice. They sure beat the hell out of a sharp stick, lol.

    It's good that there are low-cost options out there for people. It may have the ergonomics of a brick, but it will fire every time you pull the trigger.
    One of my kids recently bought a Tisas 1911 for $299 on sale, just after Thanksgiving. I'll tell you what, I have not seen a better value for the money in a long time. I don't anticipate these pistols staying at that price point for very long, once word gets out on the quality of the materials and machining. I'm not a big fan of the Turkish firearms, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

    Out of curiosity, has the trigger gotten any worse over those two years? I don’t own one but I’ve known guys who have and they complain about the trigger too.
    I’m just wondering if it’s a manufacturing tolerance or wear issue. The wear is likely covered by the warranty, but if tolerances are too loose the cure could be worse than the problem if you see what I mean.

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  8 місяців тому

      I will admit that the Hi-Point .45 pistol has a spongy trigger pull straight out of the box but an experienced shooter shouldn't have any problems shooting it accurately. I really haven't noticed if the trigger pull has gotten worse over time. I would have to compare mine to a brand new one to verify any changes in the trigger pull.

    Aside from the dark realities we face there is another probably larger reason for affordable pieces. Shooting is fun! We do most of the activity with firearms as recreation totally non violent totally stress relief etc. That Zinc Blob is not for me but it is a VERY suitable range piece. Off topic but Pump and Lever Guns are underrated when it comes to SD and Rec shooting. I have .22's that practically blaze if you practice. Lots of fun. Thanks for the show.
