When i got rejected almost a year ago, i started to self improve, but in a toxic way (at the time i was brainwashed by Hamza). These first few months of self improvement were good for me, but also bad in a way.
On one hand, it helped me heal from not just my crush, but also the feelings of loneliness and insecurities i used to have for quite a while.
On the other hand, i was trying too hard to escape myself, and it ended up almost costing my relationships.
The verdict for you, is that self improvement can be really helpful to deal with a rejection or breakup, but remember to not scold yourself for that rejection. You were just not the right fit, and someday someone will love you.
Just don't forget to set goals, and strive to achieve them.

Feeling really bummed out right now. Met this girl at my work, she was 19 and I was 18, and almost immediately after we started talking we were inseparable. She began to show a genuine interest in me, waving her hand every time I walked into work and even began going to the back of the building where we worked at during her breaks to hang out with me. I eventually asked for her number and she told me specifically she never gave guys her number but made an exception for me. We talked for the next six months never missing a day. I eventually told her I liked her and she said the same back, but she told me she wasn’t ready for a relationship and just wanted to be friends. She had never dated another guy before or let alone been in a relationship. Two days ago she was in a pretty bad mood with something unrelated, but just dropped the news on me she didn’t want anything out of the relationship and thought it would be best if we just ended things. It was very abrupt and sudden and now we aren’t talking or seeing each other anymore.
That's why you don't waste time. It is good to have the experience and hone your social skills, but other than that just go in if you know you getting what you want

I was in a similar boat with a girl at school and I asked her to homecoming, but she said she had a boyfriend. Thankfully, from your content and the change my life has seen I was able to gain a lot of positive from it. I easily detached myself because I realized that it is natural. I got a major confidence boost and now I can easily detach when I need to.
I have found myself in this situation multiple times during the past 3 years, and for the same reason, I reached my lowest about 1 year ago

I used to be like this when i was 17-18 years old, but then after i got brutally betrayed i stopped letting that happen, i stopped creating expectations and whenever i caught myself imagining things i quickly snapped myself to reality. I'm 23 today, still no gf, still want one, but at least i don't get fooled or used like i did before, i no longer put myself in a precarious position for someone who doesn't really care about me. I really do hope most young men can find that special someone they want because after a while it does start to get weird, things inside do start to feel...off.
Being rejected by women messes with your mind from my experience you start to feel resentment it hurts a lot seeing girls out there and you know that aproching them will not have any effect on them because you have tried it thousand times before they are not attracted to me in any way then you you realize that the problem is you not them and then you don’t know what to do with your frustration at least you had a chance
@@felipecastro6544 Yeah, the worst part is seeing other guys your age have what you wish you could have, friends, a nice girl, a decent job, a good physique, a social standing etc... then it sinks in that you're invisible, that no one even sees you, you start to feel like you're unworthy of being loved, like you'll never feel that warmth you crave so much. Then your thoughts become more messed up, violent in some cases, you become more cynical as time goes on and the void in your chest grows bigger. You stay out in the void for too long, it claims you before you know it.
I’m almost 21, same stuck rut that I can’t climb out of. I feel like that position we put ourself in while it does mess with us mentally a lot I also feel like it’s hard when you don’t try either. But then you try, try, and try again for the same answer.

as a woman, this has happened to me before also. i would find a boy from a movie or a show and then make him my background on my computer and spend hours watching interviews of him and stuff. and i would get that obsession type feeling with guys i knew in real life too. but its not healthy to do that especially when you want to seriously date someone. when you automatically put them on a pedestal, you gain this mindset that you can’t live without them. that’s what happened in my first relationship, i talked to him online and i never had a guy really be interested in me so i like threw myself at his feet when i met him. but i also put up with his abusive behavior towards me and that damaged my mental health a lot. so for men and women, don’t rush to idolize the person you are dating or have a crush on because you don’t really know how someone is until you’ve spent actual time with them in real life and be weary of people’s intentions

Brother, just hear me out. I had the EXACTLY same situation as you 2-3 months ago with a girl, she had basically all the traits possible with minor inconveniences but I was hooked. I was having the best ever conversations with this girl, no matter the place and she was also interested in having a conversation with me.
By just pure coincidence, I met her during the holiday and we both continued on the tradition on going from house to house in the whole village. The conversation was going very well like everytime, but then we touch a more sensitive subject (at least for me) and that is the relationship status or just relationships. She tells me after that she has a boyfriend for already 5 months and then, in the back of my mind, I've just realised that from her perspective, I was just one of her good friends to hang out with or chat and nothing more.

I don't think the timing could have been better. Recently I've been talking to an aquaintance as of recently and I usually don't have the problem of getting crushes but this girl has been on my mind almost non-stop, but given the place I am in life, I know that it's not my time to date anyone seriously.
