    Thank you for this tutorial! It works AMAZINGLY well, a few tips for anyone who wants to go at this:
    1. I saw someone say you can't select individual objects in new versions of Blender, but you can, it just takes a quick extra step of separating the object group.
    2. If you want sharper textures I recommend changing the filter mode on all materials to nearest (default is linear, which blurs them a bit).
    3. Try adding some custom lighting and mess with camera/render settings for an updated look (if you want PNGs make sure to enable background transparency).
    You can easily look up how to do the things above, and none of them take more than a few minutes.
    Now I just gotta figure out how to rig the AC...

    Thank you for this. Word of advice to anyone trying this with the newest Blender version (2.81 or whatever), it doesn't seem to let you individually select so go back to 2.79, otherwise it's a headache.

      Heavyarmored Some of the level geometry is also slightly improved on PS2. The best example is Rim-Fire’s place in Last Raven: on PS2 the initial hill has more polygons and textures, whereas on PSP you can see each flat-shaded chunk(The PSP games use an equilateral chunk-based version of binary space partitioning, explained here: ua-cam.com/video/zb6Eo1D6VW8/v-deo.html)

    You can actually render the model without the background and save it as a PNG. Also, don't use the compression, it usually introduces artefacts to the image. Also, I would suggest you stop using the stock render. I suggest you watch the beginners course on the Blender Guru channel. Especially the parts on shading and rendering. It's a very easy to pick up program and you can do wonders with it.

      Buster TBM Gameplay Don't miss out on it, it's free. I assure you, in a week's time you'll be able to produce highly realistic images if you'll just watch some videos on rendering in blender. I mean, your AC models can look much better than this, it only takes some basic shader tweaking and HDRi. I would totally be interested in seeing what you could do with those models visually.

    damn, I was looking for a method that didn't use jpcsp. that's quite literally the only thing stopping me from ripping models. On the bright side, the fact that I can't rip AC models means that I've been forced to make high-poly AC models from scratch in Blender. I'm half done with Sir Fire, and it's moderately game accurate.
    By the way, seeing as you're now ripping models, ever thought of making an animation like Limit Release?

    • @BusterTBMPlays
      @BusterTBMPlays  6 років тому

      While I can pose and rip, I won't be able to animate it, so sorry about that.

    • @defenestrationismyfavoriteword
      @defenestrationismyfavoriteword 6 років тому

      Thing is, I probably won't be able to use jpcsp in the foreseeable future unless I buy a new computer. Also, that's a shame that you can't animate. Is it a technical problem or do you just not feel like you're ready to do that kind of stuff yet?

    • @BusterTBMPlays
      @BusterTBMPlays  6 років тому

      I feel I would not be able to do well with this and well, I know nothing of it, so to me, I'll just say, I'll let it slide, let others animate who have passion for it.

      Btw, i think if youre REALLY determined, since that program can capture an entire scene, you may be able to make a stop motion out of it.

    Holy crap on a pogo stick.....
    A program that can "capture" an ENTIRE 3d files from a scene in a currently RUNNING program (in this case, the game). Thats some crazy shit man....
    Now things make sense to me on how the hell did you manage to get a custom AC as a "preset model" rahter than building them part by part. lol
    Since i dont think the save file will even contain your AC model. If that WAS the case, THEN i wouldnt be surprised. But noooo lol
    Altho, in this moment i'd ask how thats even possible for a program to do that, im afraid i got zero clue about programs lol
